  3. Goofer fans are hoping he doesn't stay around, I think personally he is not ready for the NHL. I Hope Zack realizes that too. I hope see him around for the next season too... I thin UND and Zack, Brandon and Matt would be a good combination next season. I shudder to think what could happen. It would be scarey good...

    MAAC Hockey

What I got from the article on USCHO was that they were waiting for the decision from the NCAA on the CHA and the WCHA. Or maybe I read that wrong, but I am sorry the MAAC has not proved it can play on the same level as the the big Four. It would be a travesty if the MAAC split and became two leagues and they ended up getting two auto bids. I hope that does not happen...

    Sioux vs. Tech

Fine your entitled to your opinion, I have not problem with that at all. Also, I am entitled to my opinion, neither is right... However, Josh has not shown he deserves to play at the Division One level until the last couple of nights, I also think it is still decision time. I think Blais will come back with him tonight because it is Michigan Tech, and I think we can win with Josh in net. However, I still dont have a lot of confidence in him. Not like I do with Brandt... I also believe that if Josh can' t cut it for the rest of the decision maybe we need to cut our loses with him.
  6. 5 Goals in the second period. Wow, that was exciting... Josh made some good saves...

    Sioux vs. Tech

I was really pulling for Josh tonight, good for him. As many have stated we need a goalie coach. I am not ready to retract my send Josh up the River statement but, I was very pleased. Is MTU dirty, same crap different year.
  8. If we don't sweep this weekend it will be a sad, sad shame...
  9. David Hale is back in town, but that is all I know he came back into Grand Forks this afternoon. Lets hope he can play soon we need his toughness on the blue line.
  10. want to know why Sievbieda got to play last Saturday night and not Ranfranz? I am sorry but, as alluded to in the article on the coaches show some decisions need to made next season. Someone is not going to be with the team next season. I mean that UND is not going to carry 5 goalies into the 2003-2004 season its not practical. I am hoping Lane S. is going to be better than any of our goalies we have this season, my gut says no though, I would bet two cut next season are probably going to be Ranfranz and Sofie but I wish the coaching staff would think about maybe cutting Josh and bringing in another top line recruit... Brandt would make a good back up... I think in 1 1/2 season Josh has proved he is not a division one goalie... I would rather see a kid like Nate Ziegleman earning a scholarship than a .841 career save percentage goalie...
  11. This is not good check it out... WCHA, CHA Autobids in Jeopardy by Adam Wodon/Columnist The WCHA and CHA could lose their automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, beginning in 2004, under new rules clarified at the January NCAA Convention in Indianapolis. The Division I Men's Ice Hockey Committee was recently advised of the news by NCAA Director of Championships Tom Jacobs, during their most recent regularly-scheduled conference call. Section 31.3.4.2 of the NCAA manual says, "To be considered eligible for automatic qualification, a member conference (including a single-sport conference) must include six core institutions that satisfy continuity of membership. For the purposes of this legislation, core refers to an institution that has been an active member of Division I the eight preceding years." In other words, the WCHA and CHA do not have six all-sport Division I schools, as now required to receive an automatic bid. The rule was implemented to discourage all-sport conferences from splitting in half, and therefore getting two automatic bids. However, its effect on the WCHA and CHA were made clear at the NCAA convention, and, as it stands, those conferences will not be grandfathered in. College hockey could have been blindsided had the issue not come to light after the MAAC had approached the NCAA for clarification on a related matter. According to sources, Robert Morris, Rhode Island and Navy have all recently inquired about upgrading their hockey programs to Division I varsity status, and joining the MAAC. This prompted the MAAC to consider the possibility of splitting in half. MAAC commissioner Rich Ensor approached the NCAA Championships Cabinet about the ramifications of such a move, and its implications on automatic bids. In so doing, the NCAA informed the hockey community of its interpretation of the new rule, and its effect on the WCHA and CHA. Of the 10 current WCHA teams, only Michigan Tech, Minnesota and Wisconsin are full-fledged Division I schools. In the CHA, only two of the six
  12. Well you have to almost count on something like this it has been a while since the story has gotten any press in Grand Forks so out goes the pro-name change people to stir something up. Classic.

    Goofer fans.

I actually think it would be fun to play in the Sioux fans vs- Gopher Fans hockey game, if one ever happened, but I threw out all of my stuff back in 2000. I am not sure I could even skate anymore, nor shoot a puck... As for the Final Five I guess both teams need to finish high in the standing and get to St Paul. I think as of is right now, at least part of the five teams going to the X should be C.C., Minnesota, UND and from there it is a crap shoot, possibly SCCC, if you listen to their fans they have been missing key players and that the rest of the league should watch out when they get everyone healthy. I don't expect Mankato to go very far if you can't score even strenght, they also have what one line, also MSU-M has 4 games in hand right now on UND and UofM. You can not expect to win if you can't score even strenght...
  14. Actually I sat down by the glass for a couple of games this season and I thought the ice looked pretty good compared to lets say the Target Center ice. We will see, we only have a couple of three weekends left to use the ice, I suppose they will fix it and make it better for next season.

    Goofer fans.

Get out the rocks and commence throwing. He,he,he... Ah all in fun, some Gopher fans are just too funny for me... I am hoping for a Sioux vs UofM during the final five. It would really be fun...

    Goofer fans.

I found this on USCHO.Com. This is rediculous. All on the same bench. They must have used two benches earlier this season. Weber is growing up fast I guess he grew two inches this season. Apparently he didn't see the UofM and MSU-M games... Classic this is what your brain looks like when you drink too much...
  17. There is no reason UND shouldn't sweep in Wisconsin, the badgers down right suck, there is no way to sugar coat it, If we lose to them we don't deserve to go to the NCAAs I thing we the fans are selling our selves short right now if we are not thinking that way. I watched Wisconsin and C.C. the weekend before and we should pound UofW. I still think can UND sweep Denver and take 3/4 against Mankato, they just don't impress me at all. You have to score 5 on 5 to win.
  18. I say no way that Minnesota takes any points from C.C. this weekend. I just don't see it happening. I won't cheer but if UofM takes some points from them thats fine too. I lost a lot of respect for C.C. when that horses ass started yapping at the Sioux players during the hand shake. I am pretty sure the guys won't forget that... Also, like some have said wining the league doesn't assure much other than a better draw in the NCAA, I think UND can beat C.C. I also think our three players at WJ tourney are better than their two, and yes it would have made a difference...
  19. Here is the best cure for Jeff, turn down the volume and listen to Tim Hennesey. Ussually my wife hates to listen to the game on the T.V., somthing about the sound of Sports Radio drives her nuts, but after listening to Bredahl, my said go get the radio I can't listen to this idiot anymore. Now my wife is a UND hockey fan not a rabbid fan, just a casual fan that goes to a few game every year. If she says Bredahl is bad, he is bad... I am not sure why he keeps doing television, I mean of all the UND alumni out there couldn't we find a more colorful person to do the the broadcast, Sweeny is not very exciting either...
  20. Hey Schmitdoggy_Dog, I didn't know I got sent in to bully people Solmor and Nannie are not worthy of being called Goon's Thugs would be more appropriate...
  21. That was funny, TH said something to the effect do I have to put up with that or that guy. Didn't he like ask TH if he wanted to step outside for a go around...
  22. I have to laugh at some of the trolls that come in here and try to say that Dean Blais violated some recruiting rule, which in fact He has not. I also pretty sure that the NCAA is going to launch an investigation into a matter such as this. Lets compare a couple of things. Example Number one. Imagine this Joe Troll calls up the NCAA office in Kansas City and says he Mr NCAA official a fan posted a non-verbatim quote from an unoffical web page and apparently Dean Blais coach of UND might have said some version of this. I can't confirm or deny because I haven't heard it but I think it might be a stretch, or it could be some minor violation. Example number two. (All the while last seaons Lou Nannie and Glen Solmor couldn't handle the fact that Zach Parise chose UND over UofM, no problem there they go down to Fairbault Minnesota to try to strong arm and bully a 18 year old kid into changing his mind, and convince him into going to the UofM instead of UND. All the while telling him he has made the wrong decision, that he doesn't know what he is doing, blah, blah,...) Hum thats a tough one. I think the Solmor Nannie situation is way more serious than some unfounded allegation. I mean its pretty obvious that Blais knows the rules and isn't going to break the rules besides, I doubt that the NCAA is going to care what some fan from another opposing conference team's web page cares and thinks. Besides I am sure that Blaiser talks to all kinds of young kids, I am sure Blais talks to all kinds of fans too...
  23. And by looking at Jeff numbers from Fight on Sioux, Jeff wasn't that impressive of a IUND hocky player 21 games and 1 goal - 4 assits. I might have to listen to TH and CP on 96.1 the fox... I heard Marnie Gelner the other day on FSN, I think we should get her back for UND sports. On to Pat Sweeny is not the most inspiring color person in the world either. It soundsl like he is going to fall asleep. Yesh, I am getting ready to be bored out of my mind listening to these two clowns...
  24. I would have to say Zack Parise...
