  1. All I know is there is a different standard, most of the Sioux fans that post on the POI don't come there with the purpose of rilling up the Gopher fans. There seems to be some unwritten rule that rilling up the Sioux fans on our message board is exceptable behavior. I know one guy was banned a while back for making a statement of how some poor walk on's goal wouldn't count because it was an exhibition and the guy was banned. Time for golf season. Fore...
  2. Hum lets see there is Brandon Bochenski, (don't give me that Bull S#!t about UofM not wanting him and some how how the offer was pulled, Brandon chose UND over the UofM, but what ever) I am pretty sure the Gopher were interested in Brady Murray and Zach Parise, lets see how many other Shattack players do we have coming up to UND. Hum, those seem like some pretty top players from the state of Hockey. I am sure there are much better players out there and UofM just didn't want any of these guys... Yeah but your right UofM has so much more talent than UND, I am sure we might as well just hand the Gophers that National Title now. UofM has a much better coach and much better hockey tradition. And deep down in every Sioux fan is a Gopher fan dying to get out... You know what Jim most of us Sioux fans have to act respectful when we go over to POI, and most of us do. Most of us don't start flame feast, most Sioux fans have to be held to a much higher standard, for what Hammy and some of the crap Handy-Man has been saying/spewing would get us removed from the POI site. I say F#(k them I think we should hold them to the same standard over here. Anyone else up for that.
  3. Actually the Dirty Gophers are on again today but it is on Midco net. On todays broadcast Wooger was talking about hunting Blue Bills with Frank M.. It sure was funny. Good to know that the Wooger is a duck hunter.
  4. I think that Sofie is gone (He is never going to play) and probably Marc Ranfranz, the under dog but had a few moments of greatness followed by a lot of mediocre play. I think with Nate Ziggleman and Lane S. coming in Josh could be the odd man out, but who knowsa that is why UND pays Blaiser the big bucks. There is a lot of time before the first puck drops against the Blowdogs next october... One silver lining is when a season ends a new season begins. Time to for the boys to get healthy lift weights and let the loss of this season sink in. I hope it doesn't sit well with some, David Hale showed a lot of character yesterday by flattening people. I hope he comes back next season. I think the loss should prove to be a motivating factor. I think Blais was right this with his early prediction this is a very young team. Maybe our expectations were too high this season.
  5. Opps I am surprised that they let Mazocco and Gary Woog do the broadcast, in years past they picked the different announcers and Frank was ussually the odd man out...

No amount of alcohol could presuade me to cheer for the Gopher hockey team, last year when they won the NCAA I was actually shocked that they actually were able to win it. I thought it was ironic that a Grand Forks native score the clincher. In fact when the game went to overtime I said the Gophers are done, they will lose it for sure. My buddy that I watched the game with sat there just as shocked as I was. Good for them. I liken cheering for the Gophers as if I was cheering for the GB Packers (I am a Viking's Fan). The thought of chearing for the Gophers makes my skin crawl. Sure I have respect for the Gopher program (they ar not to bad (7>4) but I feel no allegiance to other WCHA teams, in fact I would rather see Michigan win the NCAA tourney than SCSU. I will watch as many of the NCAA games as I can even if my team is not in. I love hockey but chear for only one NCAA team. Well occassionally I go to the Glas in Bemidji and watch the BSU Beavers play. The Fighting Sioux is my team. I remember talking to a Gopher fan about this last weekend, I have two degrees from UND and there is no way I would ever change my allegiance, this past weekend I drank beer with a SCSU grad that was a Gopher fan. I like the UofM football team though. If I liked Basketball I would cheer for the Gophers in BB. I did even got to go to a Golden Gopher football game in the dome. It must have been 10 years now because Alstott was still playing for Purdue. It was fun. That cannon they shoot off after the Gophers score is really loud. Go Sioux. I just hope they have a chance to end the Dirty Gophers season. Nothing would be sweeter... If you want to be the NCAA champions you have to be able to be the good teams...
  7. Dude I can tell your not married, or you haven't went through your formal training yet. Actually if you read any of the posts written here you would know that Forecheck is female, and she calls into the coaches show from time to time. If I am not mistaken I read where she said she was a college student too. Here are some of the Goon's tips for you. Sober up and enjoy life. Also, to take a page from my fathers book: (because it appears to me that your only a kid on your mummies computer), children should be seen and not heard, try being a lurker for a while. Also go to (remiedial training) reading comprehension and technical writing classes. Stay in school. Don't be a dope... A mind is a terrible thing to waste...

I am confused what is a Bison MAV, is that a person that starts at NDSU and then transfers to UNO/MSU-M that cheers for the Gophers... Enlighten us.
  9. One of the nice things about NCAA productions which does the regional games, is that every year we don't have to listen to Frank Mazocco. Tom Ried used to get picked but never Frank. I can't see Frank Mazocco getting picked this season.
  10. Watched the last Bruin Game on TV and they had Mike O. the GM of the Bruins now as the interium (sp) Head coach of the Bruins. Maybe Mike will call up Lee for the playoffs.

    Coaches Show?

I guess none of us can be misquoted tonight eh? I was kind of disapointed that we didn't get to hear Blaiser tonight...

Gopher fans they all look alike and pretty much say the same thing M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A... LOL...
  13. Blais has mentioned this before and basically said that could keep Zach at UND one more year. That situation is supposed to happen the year that Zach will be a junior...

I remember one women wearing a Sioux Jersey (with blonde hair) sitting with a bunch of Gopher fans. This woman was like one Sioux fan and many Gopher fans. That wasn't you by any chance was it? I did meet a guy from Fargo that was there at the game with a bunch of Gopher fans. It was a good time...

Wow, a good old fashion flame feast. Actually I have to admit that I had a pretty good time this past weekend, even though UND didn't do as good as I thought they could. After UND bowed out of the WCHA Final Five, I watched the other games in the tourney and had a pretty good time. I was pleased to watch soem decent hockey. After watching 8 college hockey games in 9 days I have to say I am ready to watch some more hockey. Went over to Wyld Times both on Friday and Saturday and drank beer with some Gopher fans that we met from our section. Although there was too much marron and gold in the bar but it was a lot of fun, most Gopher fans I talked to were pretty cool and were fun to talk to about college hockey. I came to the realization that this year might not be UND but, the good years are ahead. Lets enjoy the games this weekend.
  16. Say it is not so, that is not good news. Bring on Schmidt or Adam, opps wait a minute.
  17. I guess I should take the heat for posting his post...
  18. Sounds like the value of the arena jumped from 104 million to 250 million. Not bad eh?
  19. Add Happy to the list, he is over on USCHO choking on Cup Cakes. You could beat Happy with facts over the head all day and still not get him to see the light...
  20. Even more clueless. His team must have been bounced from NCAA tourney competition consideration. Posted by buvid Re: Re: Re: Re: hehe... here we go BC- Jerry Yorke is a horse's ass UML-That mascot is awful, if i went to Lowell i would avoid the rink so i wouldnt have to look at that creation. UMASS- Actually i love Toot and his team. UNH-The Ex-lax chant has to go, and there are a few too many mullets for my taste in Durham. ME- Niko, even after he is gone i curse that name. PC- The worst fans in HE, spending 2 weekends there in the last month was too much. NU- I love Matthews arena. The fans are awesome anyone who shows up to watch that squad has my respect. UND- Englested arena and all the corruption that building stands for. Growing up i loved the fighting Sioux. However, when a University lowers itself to accepting a 250 million dollar donation from a man who made his money off of casions and is a blantent racist I lose all respect for that program. Part of NCAA hockey is a purity in sports and Engelsted represents everything that is not right in amatuer atheletics
  21. This is a post from Yellowdog. Yesh... It probably is as far from the truth as possible. Or is it... I don't remember many 25 year old Candians on UND's 1997 and 2000 NCAA championship teams. The truth about North Dakota's Championships I know since I just signed up for this board some of you will take that as a lack of knowledge about college hockey. It actually is that I have real human friends to talk to about hockey. Just because i have not posted here before means nothing so those of you who equate the two need to get a life. Now for the real issue. Why the sioux have won more championships than the gophers and why that is about to change. The number #1 reason is the fact that minnesota teams have been all minnesota kids for the past 20 years. The sioux fans I talk to seem to think minnesota has some built in advantage and should always be winning championships, but the sioux have been the one with the advantage until now. The gophers would have won twice as many titles during the past 20 years as the sioux if we would have mixed in 25 year old canadians along side of our native minnesotans. Lucia changed this policy just two years ago and we already have a championship. We will now begin to dominate the wcha and the nation like we would have the last 20 years with this same type of recruiting policy. I would love to see what a team of all north dakotans would do at this level. If they could get within 10 goals of any other team that would be a victory. I heard alot of whining about the fact that the sioux were without Parise for a couple of games this year. Join the club. the gophers have been losing players to the juniors forever and it has cost them games. Since nodak finally recruited someone who has not started a family yet they see how the rest of the world has lived. We also lost players in every olympic year except the last couple which has cost minnesota some potentially very good seasons. The point is this, if minnesota would not have handcuffed itself with their recruiting policy they would have more than doubled the sioux's champioship output of the last 20 years, and we will start our run to 10 championships now and we will get there before the sioux will. Mostly it is just fun to poke fun at you sioux fans because you take this so seriously because it is all you have up there. By the way nice schedule this year you can look at that when you exit in the first round. Jump on our bandwagon now, back to back championships with only 2 seniors graduating this year.

    Sixty Goals

Just to take Schmit-doggydog's post a little further. Noterman is already at the 100+ mark. Lunbohm, Bocheski and should all break the 100 point mark by next year if all remain and stay healthy. They could do it this year but they would have to rack up some serious points in the next week or two. I believe Zach can do it by next season also, it might be a tall order but very possible. Not to put any pressure on the lad. I know UND has had a bunch of 100+ plus players but there seems to be a quite few possible 100+ points for their career players on this current roster. Massen could possibly do that next year but probably during his Senior year I think James is sitting some where in the 47-50 points for his career. James has fallen off as of late.
  23. Farce can you post directions to that. I am not too familiar with St Paul...
  24. Anyone meeting at Tom Ried's before the game on Thursday?
  25. I think for the most part short hair is like in right now... I just think the Denver team looked kind of scrubby with their hair hanging all over the place... I like the fact that UND looks like professionals on and off the ice...
