This "All Minnesota, All Hail To Thee, Pride on Ice" nonsense has been an albatross around their necks for years. Not that I mind the results!
-
The fact that Chaves hasn't extended him yet is a departure from his usual playbook of extending coaches before entering the last year of a contract. That makes me think Sather is coaching for his job this season.

The next round of College football realignment.

If it doesn't have better leadership than the old PAC 12, it will end up in the same place. -
That contradicts what someone else said on here about MN not having NIL for football.

I honestly haven't looked for the hockey posters yet. I think I'll look for them this Friday night.
-
I imagine the hockey posters are the same.
-
I think so. I am absolutely shocked that Chaves hasn't given him a generous extension yet.

Assuming that thing holds together. -

If the choice is that or being an independent, I think they would swallow it. -
If it's Iowa or Michigan, it is an easy decision. But Minnesota or Rutgers, please. I don't see how getting the crap kicked out of you by THE Ohio State would appeal to anyone.
-
Um, this isn't last year's defense. No way we give up 34 points. 35-17 UND

And according to some of the Doomsday Preachers on this forum, we are destined to be a mid-major program because of the overwhelming power of the B1G. I am really glad our new coaching staff doesn't think that way. NCHC = SEC of college hockey
-
Agree with all of this. But the question remains: Why can't we recruit quality kickers anymore?
-
We need to start thinking big and bold as a program. That means shooting for the stars. Not hoping for 7 wins and a playoff spot in a horribly watered-down FCS.

I think people were frustrated with the lack of playing time Jerry got last year during obvious garbage time situations. That inexplicable decision has somewhat stunted Jerry's development this year. Unfortunately, this has led to people ripping Romfo, which is very misguided. Romfo didn't make those questionable decisions. It's not on him. So I think people should back off the kid. If Romfo can help this team win, then we should use him.

Cripes, with all this bickering, one would think we lost 35-7 yesterday. I for one am enjoying the new energy and attitude Eric Schmidt has brought to this program.

I imagine NDSU thinks they are immune from this. I cannot wait to see and hear the weeping and gnashing of teeth in Fargo when it happens to them.
-
Yeah, but you have to start somewhere. Baby steps.
-
I don't think Schmidt is going to settle for that as the gold standard in Grand Forks.
-
This is what George Rohl signed up for? Good luck kid.
-
Who cares? The people who think not much has changed.
-
No way last year's team wins this game 35-7.
-
More than half the team is different from last year. Once they get used to playing each other, they'll be crisper.
-
Anyone still want to compare this team to last year's? Great to see the road losing streak end in such spectacular fashion.
-
The real question is, will Miami win a conference game this year?
