I was a little concerned going into the tournament how the freshmen would handle their first taste of playoff hockey. It is a lot different than regular season games.

So if the NIL donations don't bear fruit (wins, NCAA tournament appearances), donors won't care? I highly doubt that.

That's the problem with this day off crap. I thought about going, but having to take Wednesday through Friday off from work was one of the problems. I could get it off, but I don't like to miss too much work.

That's the $1 Million question. If the ROI isn't there, you will see donors get a little gun shy and then some schools will start to be more careful with their offers.

If our players are getting six figure deals from other schools, how did they end up here in the first place? What you have is a system where teams are throwing money around hoping to get a diamond in the rough. How long will schools continue doing that if the ROI doesn't measure up?

Assuming the ice will be bad on Saturday as well, we should adapt our style of play to match. With a bouncing puck, when you have a chance, SHOOT THE DAMN PUCK! A bouncing puck on net favors the shooting team, as it is harder on the goaltender to stop a puck that is bouncing and moving around. Fancy passes don't work on bad ice. Just dump it in deep and go get it, then cycle the puck until you get some open looks. We cannot pretend we are at home on good ice. We have to adapt. Hopefully the Frozen Four will have better ice.

The NCAA should make ice quality one of the criteria to be eligible to bid on these regionals. And the Frozen Four too.

Then stay out of the box and roll four lines. We'll wear them down with our depth. Then we'll check another box and get ready for Saturday.

I'm all for that.
