  1. Unless you are in the Ivy League, it isn't all about academics. The Goofs pad their non-conference schedule with creampuffs, get blown out by good teams and settle for a lower tier bowl game that nobody else cares about. Iowa isn't OSU or Michigan either, but they are at least competitive with the higher end P4 FBS teams.
  2. Iowa is a legitimate FBS program in the B1G. I would take that offer too. Minnesota, on the other hand............
  3. And you think getting rid of programming people want will help cable subscriptions? It will just make the death of cable come quicker.
  4. What "negotiations"? Once the building is turned over to UND in less than 5 years, UND will call the shots, NOT KEM. If you are seriously suggesting that KEM be allowed to continue to call the shots after 2030, then you and I won't ever agree on this issue. No donor, regardless of who her daddy was, should be able to run UND athletics from their mansion.
  5. Which one? Penn State's recruiting class or the number of teams in FBS?
  6. I don't know the details of his contract, but that is a good question.
  7. Please explain why? I seriously want to know your thoughts on this.
  8. I imagine he saw the writing on the wall and decided to go out on his own terms.
  9. Definitely rolled up!
  10. Probably doing his podcast and taking a wait and see approach to everything.
  11. The current set up is too complicated and hurts UND more than it helps. UND should hire the same company that runs the Alerus Center to run REA. Put it into the contract that current REA employees and management are grandfathered in and can keep their jobs if they wish. KEM and the rest of the Engelstad Foundation can deal with the UNDAAF directly like all other donors.
  12. Losing prospective recruits to FBS programs is a sign we are recruiting the right guys.
  13. I don't think we play them often enough to put them in the same category as the Goofs or DU.
  14. Boston College is a small private school trying to compete in FBS vs. larger schools with bigger budgets and deeper pockets. I wish them luck and I am impressed that they are jumping in with both feet and are serious about it.
  15. Nobody is suggesting this. But it's okay to be optimistic about this team and program again. Our defense is one of the best in all of FCS. Our offense should focus on sustaining long drives that end in TDs. If we can do that, I think we win on Saturday.
  16. That was a magical time for this program.
  17. They've slashed their budget. They've cut out almost all road games. And they've latched onto Augustana hockey and the CCHA with a vengeance. It is reasonable to assume they'll retrench into their home state of South Dakota and further cut back their coverage of UND athletics and everything else north of Dakota Magic casino. I could be wrong, I hope I'm wrong, but if I'm right, we'd better have a Plan B to fall back on.
  18. Midco is not providing the calibre of coverage this program needs and deserves. I think they want to focus exclusively on South Dakota programming in the future. It may be time to start planning a future without Midco once the current contract runs out.
  19. So if Team USA doesn't win a medal, at least I'll know who to blame?
  20. The Wilfs need to buy out Kwesi and KOC after the season is over. Hire competent people in both positions. Trade Jefferson and anyone else with value for players and/or draft picks. The "competitive rebuild" has been a disaster. It needs to end. Blow it all up and start over.
  21. But Fruechte may see something on film that he thinks might work, so we might throw it around inside the five again.
