NORTH DAKOTA vs. Gophers - FRIDAY Gameday
fightingsioux4life replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
Schlossman is predicting a split, citing Minnesota being "tested" by UMD and Penn State. #ifyousaysobrad -
I am not sure. All these conference changes have made following the refs harder.
-
I'd say 75-25 yes.

I just have to share this article from the Heraldo today. Good stuff. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/4345776-whats-it-officiate-und-minnesota-games Priceless! Man, I miss Blaiser. A living legend if there ever was one!

Do you really want to subject our fine University to that? Seriously though, I think there are people way better qualified to serve on the search committee. But if there was a spot for someone from the general public, I might be interested. It would be fascinating to be a part of a process like that.
-
Who would disagree with what Ira wrote? People who think we shouldn't have moved up in the first place. People who think being critical of the athletic department and/or coaches means you don't support the University. People who think small and behave accordingly. I don't think most of the people on here are like that (I did say some), but they are out there. We need to hit a home run with this hire. Not doing that will have negative consequences now and for years to come.

This is one of the consequences of the B1G hockey conference. Gone are the days of Minnesota Sports Channel and having every Gopher game on television. This is seriously bad. One of the best rivalries in the game and it is unavailable to a large number of interested viewers. Inexcusable.

Well said. I have been saying these things for years and gotten static in response from some people. Perhaps we can find an Associate AD from a bigger school who is ready to run his own department who has some fresh, innovative ideas to work with? That might be our best bet.
-
I agree with you on these points. And I don't think the rumor is true, as they have said they are going to conduct a national search and use a search firm. But sometimes the person you least expect gets hired and proves everybody wrong. That was the devil's advocate position I was putting out there.
-
With a national search being planned, I think this rumor is bunk.
-
I think he is talking about FSN North or FSN North+

Well, if you are p!$$ing off both sides, you are probably doing a good job.
-
He's a good administrator. And I think he would do a better job of fundraising than Faison did.
-
Former Grand Forks Public Schools Athletic Director, UND Assistant Hockey Coach under Gino, UND goaltender and spent two years "coaching" Grand Forks Central's hockey program. From what I heard, he was an excellent administrator and a good guy. I even got an autograph from him as a kid at a "Meet the Sioux" event back in the 1980's. As long as he doesn't do any coaching himself, I would be fine with him as AD.
-
That is how you push someone out the door and keep them quiet in the process.
-
If you really think UND is going back to Division II and into the arms of the NSIC, then you guys are way more arrogant and self-absorbed than I thought you were. Here are some facts for you: 1) Fargo is not Minneapolis. 2) UND is not going away. Now go on back to Bisonville and keep dreaming about the Big 12 and/or Big 10.

I know Interstates have a minimum of 40 mph. We could have a minimum for our streets.

THIS!!!

Really? This is a true story. This isn't the Onion.

Anyone who votes no on this had better not have a problem endorsing THIS as the solution: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/07/us/omahas-answer-to-costly-potholes-go-back-to-gravel-roads.html #TANSTAAFL #civilizationworks

Some people are upset that Lennon left just as our Division I transition period was starting. I have moved on from that and so should everyone else.
-
I don't think Hakstol is going to take a pay cut to come back to Grand Forks.
-
Personally, I don't give a rat's a$$ if he has a D or an R after his name, as long as he is doing his job. And so far, I can't complain too much regarding Kennedy.

I think there is some value in having reporters that hold those in power accountable for what they do or don't do. That is in sharp contrast to the Forum's sycophantic slobbering over all things FU. I think there is a happy medium between dirt digging and a$$ kissing. The Heraldo is a little too close to the dirt digging side, but I don't think they are as bad as some people think.
