Yeah it kinda was. It could have been worse, they could have had Rage Against The Machine doing it. 😜
-
So what, I'm ready for the commercials.
-
Societal conditioning my a$$. I bleed kelly green and white. I am a two time alumnus. NDSU is an in-state rival. So I treat them accordingly. You would never catch Auburn alums cheering on Alabama and vice versa. That is where I am on this.
-
If so, he should have used some emojis to indicate that.
-
So you're going to cheer them on? Cripes, I think I am going to throw up. What the HELL has happened to our fan base? There was a time when cheering on NDSU-CKS was unthinkable within our fan base. Now we have UND fans using the "good for the whole state" excuse to cheer them on in the playoffs or the whole front running "I want to be a part of it" bull$h!t. They don't deserve our support and they'll get ZERO support from me. But if you are so excited about this, go get NDSU season tickets and enjoy sitting in the FFD on Saturdays. I for one hope they fall flat on their faces.

If you really think this is the same thing, you are in for a rude awakening. FBS is many times more expensive than FCS.
-
If we hadn't made the coaching change last year, I think we'd be fighting to stay out of ninth place in the NCHC right now.
-
Agree 100%. But I am sure the "Bring on Bama" idiots are already planning their CFP championship parade.
-
And UND was putrid for most of the 1970s.
-
I've let go of the past. As a fan, I am focused on hanging more green banners and catching up to Denver and Michigan. And our new coaching staff is poised to take us there.

Duluth is much better than last year, although that doesn't take much. -
2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

We'll have to show up all four games. That being said, these are all home games this team can, should and must win. -
So you think UND should jump into the deep end on this? There is a very good chance we end up like Sam Houston State and not Boise State.
-
You make Bison Dan look good.
-
This is why having depth is so important.
-
If UND moved up under the current circumstances, I would call it a huge and expensive mistake. Nice try, though.
-
Maybe our youth is showing late in the season?

For the millionth time, moving from FCS to FBS is not even in the same universe as moving from D2 to FCS. That cannot possibly be disputed. The gap between FCS and FBS is huge and will continue to grow exponentially. Someone posted the FB budgets of MWC schools and NDSU's current budget is way behind even the smallest MWC budget. And the gap between the MWC and the P4 schools is even bigger. I don't give a damn about NDUS funding formulas or oil money or what Teamakers is raising, the stratospheric gaps I laid out above are not going to be closed by a land grant school in flyover country. I don't know what else I have to say to convince people that this is not even remotely close to what happened 20+ years ago. If the P4 and G6 do formally split and the G6 have their own tournament, then a move up may be worth exploring for all the Dakota schools and maybe even the Montana schools. But under the current alignment, being a G6 school is a one way ticket to permanent obscurity.

How will the prospect of no more championship runs impact interest from the fan base? Going to the Whatever.com Bowl in mid December with a sparkling 7-5 record is going to be hard for Forum Communications to hype up.
-
The NCAA is as weak as they have ever been. The threat of a lawsuit may be enough to get them to cave.
-
For me, nothing ever will.

If Burgum was going to bankroll this, wouldn't they have done it a long time ago?

That's the same bull$h!t I heard from Doomsday Preachers on the hockey forum last year who insisted we will have to settle for being a Mid-Major in hockey because of NIL and the transfer portal. I'm sick of being told we have to settle for less in everything. That attitude has held us back for decades and it will continue to do so unless we start thinking big. We need to modernize our fundraising. We absolutely have to stop relying on one donor for everything. We need to be prepared for the next big shake up in college football, which is coming because the status quo is not sustainable in the long run. As for Imperial Cass County being equal to Minneapolis, let's wait until they have their own Congressional District like Omaha before we start calling them that.
