Sorry, but when it comes to programs like that, I have no sympathy. And our situation is a little different with the coaching change.
-
It's nice when bad things happen to those programs that truly deserve it.
-
I'm just going to sit back and wait for something official to come out. Not that I don't enjoy the back and forth banter here. 😄
-
Please tell me you didn't get that from Judy's Tavern. 😂
-
Do you ever have anything substantive to add to the conversation?
-
Is there definitive proof of all those things? No, not that I know of. However, those things describe a program in chaos and disorder. Which is what we've seen on the ice most of the season. I would not be surprised to learn that some or all of those things actually happened.

I think people are trying to ascertain what philosophical differences there might be between Berry and Jackson. That might give us some indication as to how different a Jackson-led team would look vs. a Berry-led team.
-
Our play was anything but "very good" last Friday night at the X, which I had the "pleasure" of watching live. It was a perfect microcosm of the season and what the program has morphed into and it's why we are having this discussion in the first place.

I have always said, a mix of 1 to 2 year guys and 3 to 4 year guys is best.
-
Denver has always been a major city and more desirable in some respects than Grand Forks, but it hasn't stopped us from building championship teams. We need to focus on things we can control and location is not one of them.
-
Then teams that load up on these guys will have trouble winning in March and April, as you need a total team effort in the playoffs. Also, the chippers will be around only one or two years before the NHL dangles those ELC's in front of them, so you'll be trying to win with freshmen and/or sophomores, who are notoriously inconsistent until they get used to the speed and size of the college game vs. Juniors.
-
What does that have to do with it? It's an example of an assistant being promoted and making big, successful changes.

Gino in 1978.

If Jackson doesn't shake things up and things don't improve, then how long should he get? The college hockey world won't wait for us to get our crap together. I don't want to fall further behind.
-
Wow, who peed in your cereal today?
-
I wouldn't go that far. Bubba did a good job of cleaning up the mess Mussman left behind. He just couldn't take us any further than that.
-
I just didn't like how it made UND look.
-
I have to agree to disagree.
-
I agree with this 100%. I really hope if they hire Jackson, he works out long-term.
-
I do think DJ needs to be on a short leash. He's been here 19 years. If there is little to no improvement in the performance of the team two years from now, then it will be back to the drawing board.
-
Can we not bring up that stupid idiot ever again?
-
We should work on courting more donors and not rely on one donor for everything. Diversification is key going forward for us to stay competitive.

All good old fashioned common sense. Agree 100%

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
fightingsioux4life replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
If he gets buried in the AHL, he'll be making a lot less money than he was hoping for. I wish him well. But it's a huge leap going from college sophomore to playing against fully grown men in the professional ranks. -
Um, not really. They are part of the program (always will be as long as they are alive). But they are just one of several important stakeholders who have a vested interest in who runs this program and it's success. For the record, Jackson may end up being a great hire. I just hope he plans on shaking things up.
