  1. This incident is a reminder that our time on this planet is finite and tomorrow is not guaranteed to us. We complain about bad playcalls, our teams underachieving and so on. And that is what this forum is for. But it is good to have a reminder once in awhile that life should be cherished and not taken for granted.
  2. Way too early in the game for a fake FG.
  3. I imagine the spectators who saw it in person will need therapy. I think I would.
  4. This happened to Mitch Vig in practice at UND in the mid-1990's. Blais and his staff were able to stop the bleeding before he bled out. Vig was cut on the wrist and not the neck, but he still could have died without immediate intervention.
  5. Don't go there. Remember, as long as the student-athletes are doing well in the classroom and in the community, wins and losses don't matter. And our coaches will continue getting contract extensions. It's the UND way. (sarcasm)
  6. What about a five year contract extension? I bet that is being worked on as we speak. I would chip in a couple hundred dollars towards a buyout. If enough fans were to do the same, it might inspire more stakeholders to step up. That would put pressure on Chaves to at least think about the future of the FB program and whether milktoast 7-4 seasons are good enough for the Flagship U.
  7. Anyone else getting sick of goaltenders having "great games" against us? After having two "great games" against us, Close gets lit up by the Badgers. Now watch this guy get lit up in his next game. We will face good goaltending all year in the NCHC. Are we going to pull out the old "hot goalie" excuse every time we don't win? I bet BU's goaltender is licking his chops for next weekend. It could get him on the early season Hobey watch list.
  8. Now time for the meaningless shootout.
  9. If we use this close call to regroup, run the table and get into the playoffs, then it will look better than it does right now.
  10. Mankato is better than most people thought they would be. I definitely prefer us playing good teams vs cream puffs. You don't get better playing bad teams.
  11. That was an issue last weekend as well. Have to take advantage of those.
  12. And that has to stop if that is what is happening.
  13. The point is we shouldn't have to "find a way to win" at home vs a team that hasn't won a game all season. This is like having to "find a way to win" vs Morningside at home in the late 1990's. Unacceptable then and Unacceptable now. I really hope this is a wake-up call that will push us to run the table and get a playoff seed. But I am not all that optimistic.
  14. I really want to get excited about this team, but they still have too many moments where they stand around.
  15. I am stunned REA even knew FB was in town.
  16. I sure hope so. Today doesn't give me much confidence.
  17. No, the kids don't deserve that. The people that recruited them on the other hand.....
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if they lose out. I really hope I am wrong.
  19. Time to close out the weekend with a sweep of the Mavericks.
  20. Tied at the half at home vs an 0-7 team. Embarrassing.
  21. We are making an 0-7 team look like a playoff contender.
  22. If we lose this game, there should be a coaching change after the final horn. Instead, he just might get a contract extension.
