    I am talking about Fargo, Grand Forks, Bismarck and Minot. No one else. And that whole "who cares" attitude is what is wrong with Grand Forks. There is no civic pride anymore.

    Officiating is not why this team is bad this year. Having said that, the officiating in this league needs a complete overhaul. The pro-Denver bias is particularly galling.

    You indirectly compared Fargo to MSP in one of your previous posts. If Fargo ever gets big enough to have it's own Congressional District like Omaha does, then we can talk about having all state tournaments there. Until then, it is an utterly preposterous idea. It is absurd that Grand Forks may be left with only State Tennis in the future.

    Fargo is not Minneapolis. Not even close. Don't buy the Imperial Cass County propaganda pushed by Forum Communications. As for being "centrally located", tell that to people in Bismarck or Minot or anyone else out west. Next Fargo will want the State Capitol too.

    The point is, the Old REA had a much better atmosphere for these games than the New REA does. It is just too big.

    A few times, the fire marshal had to stop people from coming in, it was so packed in there. Those tournaments were great.

    Bismarck and Minot will fight tooth and nail against that (as they should). If you want western North Dakotans to take to the streets with torches and pitchforks, that would do it. Grand Forks should get the original blueprints of the Old REA and build an arena based on them, just with more comfortable seating and state-of-the-art technology. This would be an almost perfect home for the State Hockey Tournament. It would also provide another ice sheet for teams looking for ice time, which seems to always be scarce. I would definitely chip in some money to make it happen.

    Based on the forecast I saw, ND isn't supposed to be affected at all. But I guess that might have changed since yesterday morning.
