The WCHA was tougher than the NCHC? I don't know about that. The old WCHA was a great league, but there was some deadwood at the bottom. The NCHC is the deepest league top to bottom I have ever seen in this sport.

I am watching playoff games from 1997. I watched Jason Blake when I was going to UND and now I am watching his son light the lamp. Where have all these years gone?

That must have been during the period between the WIHL and WCHA. I believe the WIHL folded over teams using overage Canadians. And I believe Minnesota was the driving force behind that. I guess some things truly never change.

Let's wait and see what happens in the playoffs before assuming the worst.

The constant pressure on our goaltender is troubling; the end of the 2nd period was almost a disaster. Persson can't be asked to carry the team like this going forward. The toughest competition is ahead of us.

We seemed to flip a switch midway through the 3rd and put it away. Great to win the Penne Rosa at home on senior night. Games in Omaha are meaningless for the NCHC, but still count towards the PWR. Games are on Midco btw.

WMU has been the better team all weekend (except for their turnovers). That is not what we want with the playoffs around the corner. I hope this isn't another late season swoon in progress.

It's called the overall strength and ruggedness of the NCHC. Our boys got a taste of that last night. Helping create this league is the greatest thing Brian Faison did while he was in Grand Forks.

Not to mention Mayville State.

In today's collegiate sports landscape, you need to think two or three steps ahead. It cannot be just about what things look like now. If the B1G isn't interested in them, all the better. Their snobbishness will cost them in the long run. I just don't think UST moved up to Division I to be a low major doormat.

What do you have against St. Thomas? They are not just another MIAC school anymore. They have a large, successful and loyal alumni base. They have excellent academics. They are in the Twin Cities media market. They are building a new arena for basketball and hockey. They moved up to Division I when they could have moved up to Division II and settled for life in the NSIC. They are a sleeping giant that won't be asleep for long. They have GIGANTIC upside and I am sure the B1G would love to have them as their 8th member for hockey. That is why the NCHC has to get to them first. They are a great addition to the Summit League and would make a great 10th member of the NCHC. So far, the only complaint you have come up with about UST is that they are in Minnesota. Do you have anything else to your position than that?
