Umm yeah, they both left the Big 12 less than 5 years ago. I don't think they are itching to get back.

Look at the numbers. Look how may eligible voters chose not to vote. Same thing that applies to political elections applies here. If you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain!!

I like this logo. However, I think it is too black. Needs more color. I know we aren't the Green Hawks (thank God) but I think it needs to use our school colors more. I would like to see this with maybe the green and the black reversed., at least on the head. The black on the beak can stay. Just my thoughts.

Jones has only had 1 season inwhich UND ahs had more than 18 wins. (That's ONE). That was one of the years they rattled off 3 straight wins to win the Great West Tournament. Look at his record. Not really that impressive. Great west titles and CIT first round tournament losses are all he has to show for his accomplishments. I guess you can throw in a runner up finish in the conference tournament a couple years ago too. Are those worth extending his contract after this year? I guess thats up for Faison to decide. I would say anything less than a top 4 finish in the Big Sky or an NCAA Tournament appearance and he is done. Lofty expectation? Why not! Certainly hasn't lived up to even mediocre expectations!

Important thing is to get the right people on the committee. Who those are, I guess that is up for debate.

When I emailed in before about the winning name needing be at least a 50% majority, Peter Johnson replied back twice to my emails. These guys do read the emails they get. People voiced their opinion last time and they listened and changed the process. So they actually do care what people think.

I haven't seen a committee do such a horrible job of following the criteria laid our for them since.....the Nickname committee!!!

Big Ten teams are not scheduling FCS teams anymore. Announced it last year. All games currently on Big Ten schedules will be honored. So NDSU will play Iowa next year and that may be the last one. Big 10 schools were not going to schedule UND in any sport as long as we still had the Sioux name. Obviously the Big 10 changed their policy for not playing any FCS schools, but we still play Big 10 teams in other sports. This was 1 of many factors for reasons to drop the name.

We all remember when Kelley decided to have 3 names advance to the runoff and he said that the winner of that would be the nickname. The majority thought this was a horrible idea because the winner was sure to not have 50% of the vote. So what did we do? We emailed the people who make the decisions, voiced our concerns, and ultimately the process was changed to ensure a majority of at least 50% was required to select a new name. This issue required the same response. We do not need some outside firm from New York designing the new Fighting Hawks logo. There are plenty of local people with local ties to the University and the state that can come up with something that will be far superior to what a design firm out wast could come up with. Like I have said before, the last local guy with ties to the University designed a pretty good logo last time!! So voice your concerns to the appropriate people. You want to make a change in the process and make your voices heard? Contact the people who have a say in the matter. Let them know how UND's stakeholders feel. Give them a change to hear and possibly change their mind on the process It worked before, it can work again. The last local guy that designed a logo did a pretty good job I think?!!
