    What kind of mixed signals am I sending? Are you judging me by my screen name or what I actually post? The point I was making in response to the logo being at center ice, is that I think that it should be to promote and market the new logo of UND. A great way to do that is having it at center ice of the University's most popular sport. In regards to the logo itself, I was just stating that the modifications that people are suggesting are most likely not going to happen. After all the money they spent on the logo production, UND isn't going to say that they screwed up and wasted their money and make changes to a logo that is not even a month old.

    The Brien Sioux logo wasn't recognizable to anyone when it first came out. But UND built brand recognition and eventually people recognized the Sioux logo as being UND. Same will happen to this logo. Give it time.

    Looks kind of like a Q I guess too. But since our state initials are ND, I guess one can assume that it is a D.

    Not sure why people make suggestions like this. The logo is not going to change. Just a border added for different backgrounds. The hawk is making the letters with the shape of its head. Any changes would compromise that. The ND is subtle. But it is still there. No need to change it.

    Emailed the Ralph general email box (fans@theralph.com) and inquired about how the new logo was going to be integrated at the Ralph, specifically at center ice. Here was the response I got; The new logo will be integrated into the game presentation for UND hockey games. The plan for the logo in the building is a work in progress, but fans will definitely notice it. Have a good afternoon.     You could argue that Mankato feels the same way about UND.

    Like your pictures showed, they aren't going to put the center line over the logo. They haven't done it in the past, why start now. ANyone with some skill want to mock up a Fighting Hawks logo at center ice?!!

    Can't blame Mankato for showing interest in the NCHC. Look at the teams they would be playing. SCSU, UMD, and UND are much better rivals than Bemdji, Ferris State, and Alabama Huntsville. They have history with DU, CC, and Omaha as well. But of course it's all wishful thinking right now. And you know what they say: "You can wish in one and and crap in the other and see which gets filled first!!"

    Unfortunately, UND and the Ralph aren't going to check with the Sioux Forever crowd before they decide to use the logo in any capacity for any sport. Including hockey. If you don't like the new name and logo, you may want to avoid going to any UND games for a very long time.

    Another thing that the hockey team could do would be to put a Fighting Hawks sticker on their helmet. Looks jsut awful and boring with nothing on there.

    New logo needs to be at center ice. The hockey team has the most national attention of any team. UND is going to want to develop brand recognition. The hockey team can be the best ones to help that. Many of their games are broadcast nationally. Having the logo at center ice is going to get the Fighting Hawks brand out there.

    It took NCAA sanctions, conference affiliation, and scheduling issues and a statewide vote to finally drop the Fighting Sioux name. And even that took 7 years!! With the Fighting Hawks name/logo, you have none of that. So the only thing that is pressuring UND for a name/logo change is an online petition. Doesn't really hold as much weight as last time.

    The wasn't even a modification. I just added the new script around the logo. I guess the point I was making was the logo by itself may look bland and boring to some people. But the merchandise that comes out will have a lot of it that is accompanied by the new script. The logo on it's own is now known as UND's logo nationwide yet. It needs time to gain traction and recognition. The logo with the script looks better.
