As the person that started this thread, I will tell you why I asked the question and started the topic "What do you think of the logo now." It was my intention to prove my theory that now that hoopla of releasing the new logo has come and gone and merchandise has started to become available, that peoples reactions to the new Fighting Hawks logo would be more favorable than they were just 2 months ago. And I think that my theory proved to be true. Just based on the voting results, 2 months ago in the initial reaction thread, only 19% of voters gave it an A or B. In this thread, 2 months later, 30% of voters rated it an A or B. No of course that is just a small sample, but I think is does show the bigger picture that the logo is starting to gain acceptance.

And by doing this, UND has every sport except hockey under one conference.

If you find it on a car in GF, it won't be my car!!

MS&D, WS&D, and WH. Those need to go. 16 Sports moving forward.

So...are we going to see these lids on the Yotes on Sept 17th??

Since NDSU's OT loss to Eastern Washington in 2010, the Bison are 4-1 against the Big Sky in the past 5 years (3-1 last year alone). Only loss was at Montana in the last second of the game last year in the season opener. While I hate defending NDSU, what bugs me almost as much is ignorant comments that can be easily proven wrong with facts. Not sure if you were trying to be sarcastic or not, but you are definitely wrong in your statement.

Was a little nervous how the logo would work on a green background. But the shirt in the picture put those worries to rest. Adding the border makes it work.

UND will not go FBS. I think the budget issues have now confirmed that the possibility of that is not going to happen. Schools that are cutting sports and looking to change conferences to save money aren't looking to add millions of dollars or expenses to their athletic budget by moving up to FBS. Can we shut down this thread now?!

Faison seems to be interpreting it that way. "I think what the president is saying is that everything needs to be on the table," North Dakota athletic director Brian Faison said Friday. "That includes conference affiliation. That includes sports sponsorships. That includes the institution's decision on support."

If this is the picture you are talking about, you are seeing a reflection from the lighting. As you can see it is covering up part of the eye as well. They did not change the logo.

The problem people have is that you put out these predictions and dates that they will happen.....and then the dates pass and nothing happens. People are not trolling. They are just holding you accountable for your "predictions." While your predictions certainly could happen, stating information with no facts or reference to back it up makes it hard to believe.

It has been almost 2 months since the new Fighting Hawks logo has been released. I am wondering if people reactions have evolved since the release of the logo. Now that we seen it on different applications like merchandise and on the helmet, I am curious to see if peoples feelings toward the new logo are more favorable now as compared to their initial reaction.

If we join the Summit, we would have home and home's with all 3 every year!!

However, the Summit League and the MVFC do work closely together. If UND showed some behind the scenes interest to join the Summit, would Douple and the rest of the League want them? And if they did, would he make a push to the MVFC to add them?

I disagree. How many club, semi pro, legion, etc teams play under the state name? None. They all play under the city name. I don't think anyone is going to think that the North Dakota Fighting Hawks are some legion baseball team in Jamestown!!!

That was the case. Cal Poly and UC Davis got that deal, but that was when it looked like the Montanas were bolting for the FBS and the Big Sky was looking to add members, any way possible. Didn't offer that when we were looking for a conference. That being said, I wonder if given the chance, the other Big Sky Presidents would be in favor of having UND as a football affiliate only. You'd have to think that only having to fly out to Grand Forks once every other year (or less) would be something that they would be for to cut costs. Certainly for UND, Playing as a Big Sky football only memberand playing the rest of the sports in the Summit would be a huge money saver.

Like I said. Champion brand apparel is not the greatest. And the bookstore seems to carry that mostly. Bookstore merch has always been lame. Even Sioux stuff. Scheels and the Sioux Shop should have some good stuff out.
