    It has been almost 2 months since the new Fighting Hawks logo has been released. I am wondering if people reactions have evolved since the release of the logo. Now that we seen it on different applications like merchandise and on the helmet, I am curious to see if peoples feelings toward the new logo are more favorable now as compared to their initial reaction.

    If we join the Summit, we would have home and home's with all 3 every year!!

    However, the Summit League and the MVFC do work closely together. If UND showed some behind the scenes interest to join the Summit, would Douple and the rest of the League want them? And if they did, would he make a push to the MVFC to add them?

    Should have been doing this for years. Glad both schools signed this deal.

    I disagree. How many club, semi pro, legion, etc teams play under the state name? None. They all play under the city name. I don't think anyone is going to think that the North Dakota Fighting Hawks are some legion baseball team in Jamestown!!!

    That was the case. Cal Poly and UC Davis got that deal, but that was when it looked like the Montanas were bolting for the FBS and the Big Sky was looking to add members, any way possible. Didn't offer that when we were looking for a conference. That being said, I wonder if given the chance, the other Big Sky Presidents would be in favor of having UND as a football affiliate only. You'd have to think that only having to fly out to Grand Forks once every other year (or less) would be something that they would be for to cut costs. Certainly for UND, Playing as a Big Sky football only memberand playing the rest of the sports in the Summit would be a huge money saver.

    Like I said. Champion brand apparel is not the greatest. And the bookstore seems to carry that mostly. Bookstore merch has always been lame. Even Sioux stuff. Scheels and the Sioux Shop should have some good stuff out.

    Seems that the UND bookstore only has a licence with Champion for their apparel. Not really a huge fan of their stuff and it doesn't look great. that being said, here are a few more examples of what the bookstore has on their website.

    Kennedy is the President of the flagship University in the state. I would hope that he is smarter than most of us. That is why he has the position.

    So UND is going to join the Summit/MVFC? that's the only conference switch that would save UND money. More programs will be cut. Not sure how you can take anything else from this. Softball and/or swimming and diving are most likely going to be cut.

    Dude, relax. just a play on words. It's not that bad. Not going to lead to a goofy bird mascot. UND didn't want a cartoonish bird logo. I doubt they are going to want a big cartoon bird mascot running around.

    Thick embroidery on hats never looks good. This is no different. There is going to be good stuff and bad looking stuff. There was Sioux merch that looked pretty crappy as well. It happens. There has been some good looking Fighting Hawks merchandise out there as well. But of course there will be people that will say everything is ugly to justify their belief that the logo is horrible.

    I was going to buy and new Fighting Hawks merchandise no matter what it was. Same with many people. But I see where you are going. The current logo is better than this one. Cartoon bird logos are overused and tacky. Which is why it was one of the main stipulations that the committees that were being consulted made sure SME stuck too. (Sidenote: probably mentioned before. But a bird wearing a headdress made of feathers from another bird seems a little ridiculous.) Also, a lame attempt to make a Hawk logo look like the Sioux logo.

    Look at the overwhelming majority of jerseys in college hockey. They mostly have just the name of the school on them. UND was a rarity havin their logo front and center on the chest of the jerseys. While I like the logo, I don't think that it will be on the chest of the hockey jersey, nor should it. Put it on the shoulder to replace the interlocking ND and use the new script to develop a new jersey. (And yes, please get rid of the armpit stains!!)

    I do find it pretty funny how last year at this time, people were calling for Kelley's head and demanded he be fired for things that pale in comparison to what Bresciani has done, and people are signing petitions in support of him!!

    I don't think anyone was making predictions of how much "merchandise without the new logo" would sell. I have bought 1 shirt with "Fighting HAwks" on it and that was a National Championship shirt. When the merchandise comes out with the logo, it will sell. Sorry if that ruins your doom and gloom predictions of the new logo not being popular. If you don't want to buy it, that's fine. But people will. Remember all the people (maybe you) that said just plain "North Dakota" merchandise with the interlocking ND wouldn't sell? They were proven wrong. And theyw nae sayers will be proven wrong again here. As for me, I will but the new merchandise. #getfhawkedup
