Attendance numbers for 2016 FCS Playoffs - First Round This was Thanksgiving weekend so that played a big factor, but still, the numbers are pretty unimpressive. I always thought that we have one of the most unique setups for College football. I mean, how many sports stadiums at any level have a hotel, waterpark, multiple restaurant/bars attached to the arena. Say what you want about the Alerus Center, but for visiting fans, it doesn't really get much better than that!! Taking all the amenities the attached Canad Inn provides, Probably the Best FCS venue in the country!!

Can't you get tickets at the Chester Fritz as well?

The "We don't go to games because the team isn't good" excuse by students doesn't really apply here. We are the Big Sky co-Champs and are the 7th ranked team in the country hosting a second round playoff game. Absolutely Zero excuse for the students not to be there. Want to watch a non conference hockey game in a cool venue? Record it. This is so much bigger. Students need to be there and be loud. They are huge part of this fanbase and can make a huge difference in the game if they are there with enthusiasm and are loud. Come on Students. This is a Huge game. This is your team!!

So just for fun, I decided to use the above map and count the number of seats that were sold/available. The numbers are a little skewed because the number of fans in the visitors and the student section are unknown. But as of right now (give or take a few if some were sold as I was counting) there are 2938 available seats left for the game on Saturday. For fun, lets just assume that the student section and the visitor section is going to be full. That would put the current attendance total for the game at 9345. And that is with 5 days left to go. There are a lot of great seats that opened up that season ticked holders did not claim. Now that Thanksgiving weekend is over and it is game week, I expect there to be a significant increase in ticket sales. Especially walk up crowd. Given the numbers of tickets sold already, I don't think that its unrealistic to see a crowd over 10,000.

Maybe Cam realized how meaningless 3 on 3 was and just let in the first shot he saw. Smart move!! Saves us all 5 minutes of more meaningless hockey and a meaningless shootout!!

Given the QB situation in Richmond, that game may be closer that predicted.

The rest of the MVFC hates the Bison. Obviously the Bison don't care because the reason is they are so good and they have had nothing but success since joining the league. It's just nice to know that so many other schools hate the Bison!!

So sounds like their only options for QB this week are Clise (who went 0-2, 0 yds) who has a bad shoulder or their Freshman, Chenault (who went 1-3, 11 yds, and an INT). Yikes!!!

What budget constraints gave Muss a disadvantage? Muss was an average coach at best. Bubba has shown he is great coach. Making excuses for Muss is just sad.

Looking at the Nodak Nation twitter account, it looks like after they first bought 500 tickets to give away, anonymous donors have purchases a total of 170 tickets to be given away to students. I hope that these students can see how big of game this is for UND football that they are willing to pay for students tickets so they can go. These donors are awesome!!! That is what UND football is all about!!

Biggest UND home game (any sport) since the 2006 West Regional Finals game. That's what I said!! I

MVFC has a one really good team (NDSU), 2 good teams (SDSU, Youngstown St), one OK team that was just good enough to make the playoffs (Illinois St), and a whole bunch of average to crappy teams. Big Sky has one really good team (Eastern Washington), 2 good teams (UND, Cal Poly), one Ok team that was good enough to make the playoffs (Weber St), and a whole bunch of average to crappy teams.

Hockey fans, record the game. It will be ok to not watch one game live this year. This is the biggest UND home game (any sport) since the 2003 Semi final game. This team has earned the right to have a bye and get a home playoff game. Fans need to recognize that and show that by showing up!

10000 is a good benchmark that I would hope would be achieved. Anything more than that is going to be great. I am cautiously optimistic about the attendance numbers for this game.

So The students can buy tickets for $5. I am assuming it is general admission. I hope this isn't going to be an issue...BUT....what happens when 2 days before the game, they have only sold half of the seats in the student section. Do they sell the rest as GA?

After the first half of the USD game, this season filled with so much optimism looked pretty bleak. Can't say enough about this team coming back from a rough 2 and a half game start to run the table the rest of the season. Bubba and this coaching staff really have changed the atmosphere around UND football an deserve all the credit they have been given for turning this program around in such a short time. Say what you want about our easy schedule, this team has been battle tested and is ready to take on anyone in the playoffs. Excited to see what we can do this post season.
