A good tip when trying to be successful in anything, try to look what others have done that has worked and do that. NDSU used to have night games all the time. That was fine. But their tailgate really picked up when they majority of their home games to 2:30. No obviously the success of their team helped out too. But IMHO, 2:30 is an ideal time for kickoff.

The single greatest sports moment in my life!! I was literally numb for like 20 minutes after they won. Just could not believe it!!! I don't thin the next one will take 018 years. Problem that hurts UND is they don't play the last week. So pollsters and selection committee members will see what teams did the last weak and maybe forget about what happened the weak before. Getting a seed is possible if we win the last two games, but it is still a long shot. Need lots of help.

Shurmur was the heir apparent to take over as OC. That process was obviously sped up a bit. Who knows if Norv resigned, was forced out, or is leaving because of medial reasons or something. Either way, This offense needs help, and fast. Norv was a great coach, but his style of offense is outdated. Hopefully Shurmur can get things clicking again.

I see your point. Ok, how bout 6:00pm start time for the first game. Probably makes better sense not to have a game end so late. But I do like the "PrimeTime" game aspect.

Here is my ideal scheduling solution: - The first home game every year should be a 7:00pm game. Homecoming should be a 1.00pm start. All other home games should start at 2:30pm. The first game of the year needs to be an event. Having an afternoon tailgate on a late August/Early September Saturday should bring a huge crowd. Weather is nice and it's not too early in the morning. The first home game of the year is already exciting. Having it in "PrimeTime" will just add to that. Homecoming should be at 1:00 due to the activities that are always planned for that evening. Having the rest of the home games at 2:30 will do a lot to increase the attendance. Tailgate We have all seen the tailgate lot right when it opens. It's like a ghost town. There are obviously a good number of die hards there at 8:00, but the majority of the lot is empty. Seems like the tailgate really starts to pick up between 11 and noon. So by the time everything starts picking up, its time to go into the game. Pushing back the gametime will push back the tailgate start time, which I think is a good thing. Game Later starts lets people get things done in the morning, take their kids to activities, people can go hunting, etc. And you still have plenty of time to get to the game. Also, students have more time to get going and get over to the game.

Cubs bats have awoken!! As a Cubs fan I am hopeful that it will continue tonight, but definitely being cautiously optimistic and not getting ahead of myself. It's been one heck of a series. Today is the day I, and Cubs nation, have been waiting for our entire lives. Go Cubs Go!!!

If we get another Braden Hanson type QB, I'm all for it!! Man it would be nice to have the 2012 offence with this years defense!!

Still don't understand why Rudolph insists on running Studs (or any other QB we got back there) so much. We have a 1-2 punch a running back that is better than most of the country. Sure it's good to design a few plays for a guy as athletic at Studs, but definitely should be used more sparingly. Or else things like this happen!

Don't even need to think of a clever comeback when they most likely will bring up the .6. I'll just point at the hat. (and then maybe mimic a mic drop)

This year, Keaton has had one game (s Utah) where he had over 250 yards and 4 TD's. Every other game we have played he has been under 250 and has thrown 2 or fewer TD's. This team does not live and die by the quarterback. We don't need Bartels or Heidelbaugh to have to come in pass for over 300 and throw 3 TD's to win the game. Our bread and butter is running the ball, playing good defense, and forcing turnovers. As much as QB's don't want to be considered game managers, that is all we are asking our backups (and in a way Studs) to be. Sure we miss Studs mobility and his ability to make plays with his feet. But we should be able to overcome that with our two headed monster running attack!!

Waiting for this to get blamed on UND!! Just wait.....

I hope you are right. I do know that Bubba has this team headed in the right direction for many seasons down the road. All of us that have been invested in the program that have gone through the ups and downs can clearly see that. New fans, college kids, etc may not. They see the success at NDSU and every other school, including UND pails in comparison. I'll be patient. But I am not being unrealistic when I say that playing for a Big Sky Championship better get butts in the seats. If you can't recognize that is a big game that needs your support, you never will.

"Winning solves all problems." This is obviously not the case. So can UND/Alerus Center/etc maybe address this issue and do something about it? We could be undefeated and a top 5 team in the country and still get the same crowd we got last Saturday. 2001 is a different time than it is now. Can't rely on the same thing to work a decade and a half later.

In the end, you still have to win the games that you play. Sure UNI can claim they played top teams really close, but in the end they still lost. Losses over good teams should never trump wins over poor teams. But unfortunately that's the way the committee sees it. If a 6-5 UNI team gets in over 2 or 3 8-3 teams, that is going to be very hard for the committee to defend their "quality loss" reasoning.

November 12th will tell us a lot. If we win in Greeley this week, we will be 8-2 and 7-0 in the conference heading into the game versus Northern Arizona. We will be playing for a birth to be in the FCS playoffs for the first time ever. But more importantly, we will be playing for the chance to win the Big Sky Conference!! If the "winning solves everything" strategy is in fact true, there is no excuse for the Alerus not to have 11,000+ at that game.
