I am wondering how he goes from a potential walk on at Washington St, to being at Eastern Washington, to playing at a JUCO. I am sure the story will come out. But seems like we either are taking a chance on a guy that hasn't lived up to potential or we are finding a kid with a ton of upside that is out to prove his worth.

I think we will end up seeing back to back undefeated State Champions this year. Its GFC and everyone else this year.

Which brings up a good question. When will we expect to see new jerseys for the hockey team? You would think that since they are retiring the interlocking ND after this season, that they would be looking for a redesign for the 2017-2018 season.

NDSU Perspective - Jacobson and Miller will have better games. (Doesn't take much compared to the first game). Werner will get his touches, but probably not as many if the rest of them decides to show up. The Bison don't really want to have to rely on him to carry the team again. He will still be tough to defend down low as he is more athletic than Shanks. Bison need to obviously shoot better, especially from beyond the arc and from the line if they want to win this game. UND Perspective - Crandall needs to stay hot. Had a great game in Fargo a week ago. Need to keep that going. Having Seales back will be a much needed lift for more scoring. Also defensively. I thin k we all can agree that Hooker is not going to have a game like he did in Fargo this time around. Shanks gained some confidence at UNI that hopefully transfers over. Shanks needs to do a better job defending Werner and prevent the easy layups. If NDSU goes cold again, need to double up Werner and not let him beat us. Prediction: NDSU should come out better shooting all around. I think we will shoot better as wwll, especially Hooker. If we can find a way to shut down Werner and Miller, UND should win this game. Seems like the Ralph likes the fact that in order to make the current jerseys look complete, you have to take it to their customizing shop and pay extra.

I am not saying that the hockey jerseys should have a huge giant Fighting Hawks logo on the chest. I am saying they need to integrate it on their jerseys/breezers/helmets/etc. The basketball team, as well as other sports, have done a nice job integrating it without hitting you over the head with it. I get it. The logo is going to take time for some people to adjust to it. Making slight modifications to jerseys like the basketball team has done is a good first step. I would like to see the logo on the shoulders and the helmets. Also using the new script on a newly designed jersey (without the ugly armpit colors, would look sharp as well.

The basketball team has a jersey design similar to the hockey team with 'North' on the top, 'Dakota' on the bottom, and a number in the middle. They have updated their jerseys to the new script. Will be interesting to see if the hockey team does the same.

So with the adoption of a new name and logo, teams are transitioning to new Fighting Hawks jerseys. Other sports have already made the move. Hockey will eventually as well. I don't think that we will see the logo as predominately displayed on the front of the hockey jersey as the Sioux logo, but it will be on there in some way, most likely on the shoulder. This brings me to what I am wondering. Will the hockey team come out with a redesign of some new jerseys? Or will they just stick with the current design and replace the interlocking ND patch on the shoulders with the Fighting Hawks logo?

JMU has a chance to beat NDSU, but yes I agree that EWU is a better team. If it is NDSU v EWU in the title game, I have to give the edge to Eastern Washington. NDSU has not faced a passing juggernaut like that in a very long time.

I guess we can take these stats with a grain of salt given the competition that JMU plays against, but still impressive none the less: QB Schor - 2648 yards, 24 TD's RB Abdullah - 1577 yards, 20 TD's JMU is averaging over 49 points per game and allowing 22. The last three games they have outscored their opponents 183-43. (Which includes a buttkicking 65-7 or Sam Houston last Saturday).

Johannesson is a stud. Kleiman wanted him bad. Definitely nice to see UND get some of these guys over NDSU. Will be interesting to see if and where they will use him next year. Backing up Norberg would be the best bet. Like the article says, UND will have a crowded backfield. But if there is a good place to have depth, the RB/FB position is one of them.

Oh you mean those people who have high level Champions Club contributions, season tickets to every UND season for the past 15 years, spend hundreds at the Sioux shop while at home games, and fly to Tampa and NYC for games? Those fans?!!

The difference with the St Paul regionals from the past and one that would be played in Sioux Falls is we weren't the host in those regionals. So we didn't know that UND would be playing their until a couple days before. If we are the host school at Sioux Falls, we are guaranteed to play there if we make the tournament. That is a huge difference. Planning months in advance would definitely get more people there than planning to go days in advance.

5000 mostly UND fans compared to 10000 mostly UND fans. How is a bigger crowd less of a home ice advantage?

Not sure why UND doesn't bid to host at the Sanford Center in Sioux Falls. Would be a lot easier for others to get tickets since it holds double what Scheels Arena holds. Sure its further away, But I don't think they would have any trouble filling it.

Side note, What did everyone think of the jerseys? I thought the dark charcoal grey look was pretty sharp. I definitely like them better than the black ones.
