If UND wins the either the Regular season or the tournament Championship, there is absolutely no way he doesn't get a contract. Not sure you can justify signing an extendion with the excuse that "well, UND got lucky this year."

Not all the play in games are 16 seeds. They throw in 11 v 11 and 12 v 12 in there as well. VCU went from the First Four to the Final Four a couple years back. There is plenty of interest for the First Four games. Obviously not as much as when the first round games starts, but its there.

UND has 2 options here on what they are going to decide. They can either make this decision on what sports to cut based on feelings, or based on numbers and facts. Kennedy and other UND officials need to not be worried about hurting peoples feelings and "public outcry" when cutting a sport if it is going to save millions in the long run.

You could argue that the teams in the play in game get much more exposure than the 16 teams that don't have to play. There are 2 play in games each nigh. Those game are on CBS. Many people are watching just those games as opposed to Thursday and Friday when there are 32 games a day. More people will be watching a North Dakota/Mt St Mary's game than a North Dakota/Villanova game. Playing the play in game is not ideal, but not the worst scenario. Best chance to win a tournament game!!

Red River was co champs in 1977, champs in 1987, champs in 1997, champs in 2007. I see a pattern here. Is there any doubt who wins it this year?!!

Not sure anyone can look at those numbers and not come to the conclusion that Womens hockey needs to go. You would have to cut at least 4 of the sports lited here to come up with the number that UND must cut. This is a no brainer.

What are the requirements in the vote by the Presidents to add a school to the conference, full member and affiliate. Does it need to be unanimous, a certain percent, or a simple majority?

This weekends game against Weber is huge. If we win, we have a half game lead on the conference and the tiebreak. Looking at both UND's and Weber's schedule, I definitely think it favors UND down the stretch. After Weber, UND will have games @UNC and Sac St. and Portland St at home. Those teams are currently in 10th, 7th, and 8th respectively in the conference. Weber will be @EWU, @idaho, and Montana and Mt St. at home. Those teams are currently 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively in the conference. I really think that UND can win its last 3 game, especially since 2 are at home. Weber finishes the season playing the 5 of the top 6 teams in the conference. Sure they are currently 1, but that is still a brutal stretch. Saturdays game is huge!!

Forgot about that. I guess it would be unprecedented in the world of college hockey. I still don't think that UND would ever be voted out of the BTHC if another B1G started hockey.

In the history of college hockey, has a school ever been "ejected" from the current conference they are in? If UND joined the BTHC and all of a sudden Nebraska started a program and joined the conference, it would be a very unprecedented move by the B1G to kick a member out for the sole reason of "we don't need you anymore."

So what does she want? Get every student at UND to come to the Ralph and have Kennedy up there with a giant chalkboard and have people yell out their ideas for how they think UND should handle the budge cuts and then somehow have everyone agree on a plan?!!

That would be a pretty good final. However, I would much rather see UND beat Denver in the semis and Duluth for the Championship!!

If the B1G wants an 8th team, I really don't see a team other than UND that would even have a chance of getting an invite. The BTHC really has no other option if they want to make it an 8 team league IMO. And UND needs to be aware of this when negotiating any deal. It's not a big bargaining chip, but it is something.

Any bird logo that has an Indian headdress was never going to be considered. Just a sad attempt to make it similar to the Sioux logo.
