  1. I think NAU will benefit from an easier schedule much like we did last year. Will likely only have 1-2 conference loses all season. If we expect to repeat, we will have to win at least 7 games next year I think.
  2. Kids born in 2002 are committing to schools!! Crazy! Another year or so there will be kids signing up to play for the University of Minnesota that weren't even alive the last time they won a National Championship!!
  3. Miller nails it here... "Even if it is done, it’s a poor reflection of the program and the UND administration the way this has carried on. How many Division I men’s basketball coaches do you hear getting mini extensions to buy more time for negotiations?"
  4. Re signing a coach is an easier process than hiring a new coach. Maybe even easier than promoting a new coach. Of course I don't know to what extent the budget cuts are having on Jones' new contract. Of course it is affecting the amount and timing of it. My point is that even dealing with the cuts, this deal should still not take this long. The biggest reason may be Jones trying to negotiate a bigger deal than Faison or UND want o give him.
  5. Totally agree. Everyone knew Jones was on his last year of his contract. Faison should have had a plan in place well before the contract expired. Sure the budget cuts threw a wrinkle into it. But still, a contract to sign your head mens basketball coach should not take this long.
  6. Re-signing a coach in a major sport at UND for a team that won the regular season title and earned their first trip to the Big Dance should be a big deal. Typically a school would make this a big news conference because they want to show off the accomplishments of a program and reward it by giving a long term contract to its head coach. But because UND embraces PR nighmares, they will most likely announce it with a press release at 4:30pm on Friday before a long weekend to avoid supposed "controversy."
  7. So the 2 month extension ends this week. The new deal should be announced this week you would think.
  8. We all know who was the King of the Big Sky last year!!
  9. I actually like that it doesn't go all the way around. The contrast of the stripe and the Wild logo workd on the front. Wht the stripe and the numbers on the back being the same color, it wouldn't look good at all. Of all the NHL jerseys, the Wild definitely made the most drastic change. And it looks awesome!
  10. or on second thought.....don't!!!

  13. Conference Rings are pretty common. Gonna be a lot of rings to be handed out this year.....
  14. Considering this will be our first year in the MVFC, another cupcake home game wouldn't be a bad thing. I doubt UND is going to want to schedule Eastern Washington or Montana given our new brutal conference schedule. Especially the first year in the new conference.
  15. Tuch and Haula to Vegas in exchange for Vegas not taking Dumba, Scandella, or Staal!! http://www.startribune.com/wild-s-erik-haula-alex-tuch-bound-for-vegas-by-day-s-end/429898333/
  16. Neither are his fault. Not sure how you can put Drick deciding to transfer and Geno getting a DUI on Jones.
  17. There is a reason that people with large setups like having a reserves spot(s) tailgating. They don't have to worry about finding a 6 spot space for their rig. Those people that have those large setups are there every week and are not the ones that are creating large gaps in the tailgate lots. Those people are the ones with 1 or 2 spots in the back half of the tailgate lot that may or may not show. I say they issue reserved tailgate spots to those want to reserve 3 or more spots together. That way they don't have to worry about making sure they have enough space for their setup. You can still sell season tailgating passes to those with 1 or 2 spots. Those people would get a pass they can show every week and their spaces are first come first serve. This ensures the big rigs and large setup tailgaters have their spot each week, and it eliminates open areas for season tailgate owners when they are not there. *Bonus idea - eliminate the "Student tailgate lot" and mix them in with the rest of the tailgaters.
  18. Wait...I thought everyone used it during their lunch hour?!!
  19. There will probably be more people voting to keep Arbor Park than have actually been there in the last year!! When the NO overwhelmingly passes tomorrow, The handful of people who supported it will find some other cause they can "fight" for.
  20. Bison home games have always been at 2:30 (except for the homecoming game which is at 1:00). That time is pretty ideal. Especially for fans traveling from out of town. Not sure about what can be done about changing that the next 3 seasons we have in the Big Sky, but definitely something that needs to be looked at moving forward in the Valley. In regards to other changes, you don't have to look too far to see what seems to work. NDSU has one of the best gameday experiences in the FCS. Look at what they do and try to do that. Obviously won't be the same, but worth a try.
  21. The only arguments I have heard to save Arbor Park are "We need more green space downtown" and "it's an homage to the Flood of 97.". Sorry, those are dumb reasons to not develop the area. You want "green space" and a monumnet to the Flood of 97, walk 2 blocks east and you can see both!!
  22. Feelings and emotion. Don't you know that trumps facts now days?!!
