Thats a great point. Seriously, how can we find a bettrr balance between corporate and social "Be seenism" and interested hockey fans. Maybe we can't... Maybe we arent as numerous or as Hockey loving as we like to portray. When I was thinking about this thebother day with a buddy, When was the last time you had "FUN" at a UND game, and more specifically at the REA?. '16... '11?... at the old arena? ... Its an interesting queation, thats where I'd like the thread to go.

Attendence issues at the Alerus is not because there ISNT a sioux logo and Sioux chants. Thats not the problem with why football games are largely unenjoyable. We could really have another thread. What would make the Alerus more Fun for football. What is going to make the students want to put down their phones and engage, whats going to make the alums want to watch the game instead of chitchat in the concourse and bar? I hate when I cant get back to my seat when everyone is stopping and to talk all the time as my hands are full of tostadas and pizza, and beer, and steak sandwich and more beer. Squabbling about the logo in GF is NOT a common factor in the nationwide ambivalent attitude toward athletic attendence. Thats the reality. Seeing how UMtc is trying to at least make some changes to help their situation, and the ammenities being upgraded at the REA, are just that changes. Do they help? Not as much as winning i guess. I actually predict a surge in demand early next season as the MUST thing in GF will be being able to discuss the "new huge scoreboard" socially. .. .Next on Real housewifes of GF... "Did you see how big that new scoreboard is?" " You really cant understand how big it is unless youve been to game and seen it in person, like me, I was there" "Even if your there it just doesnt cut it in the stands, you really need to be in a suite to appreciate it, like Inwas last weekend". It will be the social event of the fall next season.

College athletics fan participation is not challenged nationwide because you dont see a little birdy enough in GF. Inovative ways to engage fans are evolving, its interesting to hear what people have experienced in other arenas. The birdy is never going to do what winning will do or what more accomodations to the students will or what inovative arena experiences will. You will just continue to expose and drive the wedge further between: you "3" and the rest of the world that is sick of the self righteous hatred you project on them.

Instead of only white and green. what about a grey or cream based sweater for a third? And for the sake of all that is holy stay away from black for a good decade. The biggest question is what to do about the front... Regardless I believe the final design must be close to being put into production.

Big ones here all very good ideas... Yes the on ice is one thing i really would like to see, its very important. If a repaired relationship is going to exist after MK slithers out of town, Id like to see the one ice projection as the symbol of good faith moving forward.

I dont disagree, a decal on the helmet is needed... but.. Our logo looks so stupid looking backwards on the left side. At least put the new interlocking UND on the sides of the helmet

Claiming that Brad Berry has never said "Hawks" is foolish and stupid, and you know that. Thats ridiculous. You're better than that. The Hawk logo is what it is. Its not a large format logo, it doesnt look good (at all but thats beside the point) as a main crest. It works well on the shoulders, as it works well on thebside of the football helmet, well one side anyway. A diagonal Hawks could work but is very meh, as described ike the "Bolts" jersey. There just doesnt seem to be alot of dynamic new ways to use such a uni directional and plain logo as what it is. Id expect a similar look laid out on one of the Adizero templates.

Watching the NHL playoffs has been awesome, full crowds, raucous, chanting, loud and involved all game. The crowds in Nashville, Columbus, Long Island, Clagary and Las Vegas have been insane. It looks really really FUN! Its been making me think about our hallowed palace on the prairie, I love the REA, I mean love it, Its home, it fits, I love walking around the smells, the views from all levels its special. But much like a marriage, even if it's love, its not allways fun anymore. The second period seems like the hockey is secondary if not 3rd behind socializing, checking the selfie likes and trading land rentals in the concourse. The new adornments are nice, and the updates to the lighting, the the scoreboard, the boards, the team area its all awesome. But has it made the games more fun? What can we do to get back the fun? Obviously winning exciting games withbexciting players is paramount but as far as off the ice?..... I think it starts and ends with the students and the expectations the arena encases upon the students. I think the band also needs more freedom and MUCH MUCH MUCH less of the A/V blaring music and sound effects during stoppages. Maybe we need a new resurgence of the golden feathers to create lead new chants and traditions, idk... thoughts i guess. What think you? When was the last time the REA was fun? What brings that back?

Actually... looks like they are just shifting to higher required payments for the right to buy the best seats. Who knows, at least their responding in some way and trying. Goofer program keeps looking like a joke with the empty barn pics. Its also naive and foolish to think their troubles cant appear here too.

This looks like they are signaling that they are somewhat listening to their fanbase. Its definitely addressing some of the comcerns they have control over. Having UND in house this year will surely help their fanbase be invigorated as well, at least for that weekend. They cant do anything about p1g opponents and p1g dictatrd gametimes. The cupcake classic is also much improved and if they can make this tourney a quasi northbstar cup at least everyother year, it will help them greatly. A popular and full marriucci is good for college hockey.

Very dirty and nasty series, Boston seemsnto be the dirtiest sleezy bunch of a$$clowns outside of congress. Hope they Leafs take them out quickly.
