Oh my gawd this is the reals isn't it, that's the saddest low of lows.....so far. could not have been a fun conversation between promotions sales and the sponsors.
-
ooopsie fat fingered that one! but don't count out the Rockets! hahahahhah Don't sleep on their tendy, they could very well be back if he stays and that's the type of kid that could steal a game on an overconfident team... ala Forsberg vs GFC this year. Bott/Rug will likely be back at state next year if they keep everyone there. BUT they'd maybe be hanging championship banners in the lumberdome in a Class A

Fargo South/Shanley no longer exists. Fargo North/South stays in AA Shanley+ (as I'm calling it) will need to be in AA as well ...... In the next 5 years Minto North & Horace? are added after that its right back to 2 regions of AA. Even if those jr gold teams don't come up have a statewide A league. but in the reality of high school AD politics. zero of this is possible even if it is the right thing for the kids

The TeamND / SF power games could be great entertainment. SF Power now has 5 kids D1 committed on that team for the weekend. A couple really strong ND kids as well that could move on. She really does a good job of at least showing value of the program by pushing kids to the next level, can't argue that.

Nail on head on the competition and coaching as it relates to becoming good enough Back in the day I was solving the world's problems (2am lobby beers) with a couple MHD youth coaches and college coach and we talked about how much that matters, They talked about how Bismarck was going to benefit from some of the few second-generation kids from the coach dads that had actual real experience (college -d1-pro) .. they were right not only did their kids benefit but the culture competition and drive to compete drove those other first-generation kids to be better as well. .....then they broke out their coaching email list and showed the dozens and dozens of former college- d1-and career type pros they had in their youth program, some 3rd and 4th generation, it matters and just helps those programs so much. Grand Forks has that benefit as well. Almost all of those MN community programs have a proportional aspect of that generational experience that helps the youth. Nobody else in ND does, it might get there but its generations away, but 99% of the time the ignorance of useless experience gets in the way of what those programs needing (i.e. Bismarck running off a actual hockey guy with parents screaming about thats not how they did it in their day)

Its the inborn respect and exposure that is available in the MSHSL as well. The Tourney is just the tip and as someone stated in the grand scheme very few players make it there for that spotlight but the overall exposure and RESPECT the MSHSL gets compared to the EDC or my gawd the WDA is not even close to measurable. The experience of playing in front of a Section 8 game crowd and that attention dwarfs anything the NDHSAA can offer. The only thing close to that are GFC/GFRR games. Nothing else comes close. ...... back in the day some cross town BHS/ Century games may have gotten that feel but these days.. its not there.

I guess this is where my biggest question is raised... way too good of players to perform like this. I don't understand why, many don't, so naturally you look at the common denominator. Disclaimer: Still a Berry guy, I just don't get what's going on but it feels like it can't continue. Ultra Disclaimer: Not a facedouche group moron apologist either.

This is the key to how things matriculate and everybody saves face and offers all parties an "excuse" for portal losses, saves the university money, takes Chaves off the hook, keeps the culture intact, it's just got to be the way. NOBODY (except 1 guy's bank account) wins by finishing out next season if players leave, commits de commit, and players don't commit to a coach on the final year of a deal after turbulent times.......season goes worse than this year. Everybody's image is tarnished. Leaves a coach basically calling it a coaching career .. but probably still making good coin as a scout or consulting. Hockey protects hockey after all. The midwestern nice thing is to let everyone save face and bow out graciously.... but all that speculation doesn't matter after a historic frozen faceoff win and a drive to the frozen 4.

Does anybody know ballpark or more precise just what the bottom-line number is for UND if hosting a 2-game playoff?

Moorhead enrollment 1600 GF 2350 GFC 1100 / GFRR 1250 *numbers should probably be double checked but interesting.

And can you really blame someone for getting away from the st Cloud public school system?

It would be really tough not to have the same thoughts. I've had those thoughts for years and regret for almost as long. But in the end.... just hope he grew and gained from the opportunities they had and have

I once watched a drunken EGF mom loudly proclaim EGF as the "Edina of the North, everyone hates us!..... before she tumbled over the table and made out with another lady on the dance floor.... but then again the Grand Rapids Eagles has gotten the better of many a hockey parent over the years.

The con job of the old guard convincing North Dakotans they are republicans, or conservative or Christian or anything other than corrupt good ol boys is disgusting. Its even sadder that nobody can seem to put forth a message that can oust them.... Its just a game and they're all the bankers

Still open but dramatically degraded conditions. The old Expressway is a smoldering diaper that doesn't have long. New ownership seems to have gutted it a bit. was a decent place to get a room block not that long ago

My knees hurt from your reminiscing alone

Horse race of a first?

No. TeamND teams that were formed last summer and played together all fall are now meeting for a practice weekend together and then going to play Sioux Falls Power programs the next weekend. It still seems tough to beat the Power teams that have played together all year, but it does happen, almost every year some team beats them in a best of 3 series and moves on to Nationals, a few years ago I believe TeamND swept 14/15/16. Team ND doesn't contest the 18u level as those kids DO have a tryout process that starts this weekend in WF, for an April CCM NIT tourney in the cities. That team practices a few times and has had some good success in short order in that tourney.

Thanks, appreciate the info

Really? I've never heard that before to be honest. In fact I was told ademently to NOT use that logo on a non BAA media piece.

I've been told by people "in the know" the past weekend.... they for sure know he's going to be in the BCHL.... and another said Ontario Junior Hockey League... and another said Force... But Major Junior was the most commonly spouted prognosis. Conclusion: Not a clue gotta see I guess, he could land almost anywhere next weekend, including WF.
