  1. Canes looked great. Can't believe it went to OT. Those Montreal crowds are electric, hard to believe they're 2-5 at home.
  2. I was thinking Michigan or DU for DuPont. Larson could use another D and a C and still has some room to wiggle with the roster, but the Gophers don't toss money around like PSU allegedly did to Gavin so I'm not sold either will be in Dinkytown. Although there are a couple small ties with DuPont....extreme longshot. And quite honestly as a fan, not sure I want the one hit wonders that are chasing the bag (glad they got Tarin Smith but I don't think money was the selling point). I'd rather see a 2-3 year guy who wants to be there for what it is, as you guys have personally seen with Carels, Verhoeff, and everyone else. I already like what Larson did on the back end for UM, but holy buckets did Jackson and the crew do some insane work for UND. Impressive.
  3. dammit did I laugh. particularly because I know exactly who he's talking about hahaha.
  4. I'm not sure whether to have the ultimate respect for Carle or think he's the biggest idiot on the planet, lol. On one hand, he's the best of the best, making a hell of a living doing what he loves, at a school he loves and his family must love it as well. On the other hand, he's gotta work 10 years to make what he would in one (ballparking, based on a few sleuths) in the NHL. So even if he went to the Leafs and it went south as hell after 2 years and got whacked, he's set and would get begged for any college job he wanted after that anyway. Boy its it good to be Carle at the moment.
  5. Oh hell yes. This is the way. Play some baseball. Play some tennis. Go to the GD lake and be a kid.
  6. what a series that was and Game 7 was unbelievable.
  7. Haha...he has some amazing one liners that's for sure. I think he'd be excellent on PSP or even state tournament coverage. He's got a comment for everything.
  8. First off...holy sh*t UNDs back end is insane on paper. If you're dialed in on this take I personally hope it's MN. Tarin Smith's d partner and there's still some wiggle room for Larson on D and F.
  9. OK the hot rumor around Bismarck is that Troy Olson has let go of the reigns of the CHS Patriots. It's been a hell of a run for Ole.
  10. It is odd there has been no press around this, but it's safe to say you can run with it, it's been confirmed.
  11. Good breakdown by Jack Jablonski here on the roster going into the off-season: I'd keep McCarron and Foligno if they're dirt cheap. It's time for Zucc to be done, honestly. Who the hell else would we want to keep? The UFA on Center is embarrassing. I think Boone Jenner is the best option and he's another 2-3 center. I have no clue how they'll get the 1C they need, plus build a deeper D core. Everyone after 7 and 43 on the back end was brutal. Love EK's game but he and Brodin lose so many games maybe it's time to get 'em out of here...Billy G has some cookin' to do this off-season. https://x.com/Jabs_13/status/2054779123760025671?s=20
  12. The goaltending tandem is also a pickle. No chance you can trade Jasper...and Gus turned into an untradable bitch basically at the end of the season. If they can unload him and his salary in any manner possible it's a win.
  13. John Hynes got dealt a bad card with those 2 injuries. That being said, he should be gassed just for the final 5 minutes of that game. Rolls out the same GD line for the tying goal. I've never liked Middleton, but holy balls was he awful this playoffs and it might be time for Spurgeon to consider retirement. They need depth down the middle and a whole new back end. But first....see ya Hynes.
  14. And you didn't even bring up Bogosian...time for him to submit his retirement papers. Well out of his league.
  15. Brutal effort by the Wild.
  16. Yeah the only non counters from Fargo, GF and WF will probably be in the Bismarck-Mandan area and that might be pushing it.
  17. Sounds like each WDA team is scheduled for a home and home, then 1 game against and EDC for league play. 6 point games may be used, at least to some degree. I imagine the better East teams won't be in a hurry to schedule extra games out west when they can get Section 8 teams, Fergus, Alexandria, etc on the schedule.
  18. Grand Forks, Fargo North/South, Davies, WF, DL and Jamestown?
  19. AAA hockey is not for development. It's strictly for fun. Same as Team ND hockey. None of it is good for actual development. As long as you know that, you're free to decide what you want your kid to experience. Camps are fine, IMO, depending on what you're doing. It obviously depends on what city you are closest too and who is running the camp. Sometimes it's best to just put the gear down for a few months.
  20. Yeah that's a good goal. Whitney spazzing out on twitter is awesome haha.
  21. WF, WFS and now Horace. Makes it a difficult split because there's no way one of those schools has enough to have a program on their own. One of the reasons Bismarck took awhile, needed the numbers to support it and somehow find the right CO-OPs. Now, next year, CHS girls will have a roster of 14-15 skaters. Gotta ride the numbers wave....
  22. Penn State or any other school for that matter.
  23. I get that, but let's compare Verhoeff and Carels. Where were they a year ago on draft boards and how can we really tell how it affected their draft position? I guess that was my point regarding the high-high end players.
  24. I'm not sure any college hockey recruit wouldn't have an insane time tailgating and hitting parties after a game at the Big House, Ohio State, Penn State, etc.
  25. I think the high-high end Canadian thing is going to be an interesting follow the next few years. McKenna and Verhoeff have been highly ranked for quite some time for their age group....it's hard to argue whether this year helped, hurt or was indifferent too be honest. There was a time McKenna was "falling" and Verhoeff was "trending" as the 1, then it kinda flipped again. Now it seems McKenna is the consensus 1 and Verhoeff could be D 2-3, which is still awesome. But what if they had stayed and crushed up north? Hard to say. McKenna allegedly got a huge bag from Penn State, but none of those high end NHLers to be really wanna open a book, do they? None of those guys take school too serious.... But many I've read already have Carels over Verhoeff. I'd have to go back and see if that was the case a year ago, but if Carels goes top 3 I can't imagine he'll want on anyone's campus, the big show is his dream, unless someone throws a McKenna bag at him. The changing landscapes of college hockey.
