  1. Dalton Andrew actually has "No Contact" by his name, as does Jimmy Clark from UM.
  2. Jupiters GPL portal tracker shows: Engel, Andrew, Klee, Strathmann and Homer for UND.
  3. Not a shocker to me. Super inconsistent, flashes of unbelievable....flashes of uhhhhhh....Best of luck to Jimmy, however. Kinda curioius on Ludktke and Pritchard as well.
  4. They had enough for a JV but no other ND teams had JV. With the addition of WC, maybe Hazen, maybe all the 19u teams, I truly believe a Class A and Class B is the best option for girls hockey. West Fargo's "jv" could be a class B...on year's when Bismarck teams have enough for 2, same thing....
  5. Great Frozen Four, the 4 blue bloods did not disappoint. If that was played again next weekend I think we'd see a different winner, and maybe a different winner 3 weekends in a row. Wisconsin showed up, gotta give Hastings credit there, they left it all on the table. Vegas looked awesome. Can't imagine winning a natty as a player and being in Sin City, I hope Denver got to spend the night and rip it up.
  6. And WF twiddling their thumbs despite numbers in the mid to high 30s.
  7. Yeah it's going to be wild, but sometimes those toes need to be stepped on too. I wonder if SCSU coach (assume Oliver) has been able to make phone calls behind the scenes to his current roster and recruits? It has to be difficult to be a bit behind on that, although he'll likely be done with UW Thursday so probably hit the ground running Friday, gives him a few days before the portal goes wide open.
  8. I think Larson is coming in with a wrecking ball, and after Motzko basically punted on the last 12 months, it is much needed. Kinda gotta do it that way in the current environment. Vegoe thought 6-8 give or take will be in the portal.
  9. I doubt Minot will for boys. Minot girls not even close to the numbers for 2 teams, I don't think that or Grand Forks will ever happen for girls.
  10. IMO that's a thing of the past. Not quite as distant as "UND is just a bunch of 25 year old canadians." As long as they're still getting some of the best out of Minnesota, which they are, they need to sprinkle in some of that. I don't think any of us would've been pissed about Reschny, Verhoeff, Malone or McKenna - :-). Larson was also on another podcast this week and said they've already been up North since he started and there's a couple targets that would help immediately.
  11. Larson also had a couple commits on the blue line from Canada and has been vocal with the media about his ties up there.
  12. I believe Luken Huff decommitted from SCSU a few days ago. He had been committed to Larson since February of 2024. 6-3 195ish and a physical presence not really attributed to UM style of play.....perhaps there's a relation to that and the Grimes move as well. Larson was a great listen with Jupiter and Vegoe on GPL last night. It's going to be a wild couple weeks in dinkytown.
  13. He probably isn't even on campus anymore lol
  14. I'm guessing Hazen will be on board for girls hockey as well. Also had been told at one point if both those teams jump, Langdon may consider it for the girls. Not sure if this is true or not but I was told at one point the bylaws state you need 8 in a conference to run WDA/EDC type conference tournaments. Interesting developments on the girls side.
  15. I was 50/50 on Motzko. Willing to give him another year, not surprised his time came to and end. Larson has experience, connections and a hell of a good staff. There's reasons for optimism. I'll trust David Carle on this one. And I like Oliver. He has a future. Played for his old man. Nick was just a rugrat at the rink back then.
  16. I meant Rohlik, not Miller. @tnt Took some time for me to come around on Larson initially. It won't take long, everyone here will want Motzko back. SCSU on the other hand...
  17. Potulny, Miller, Larson all with HC experience at NCAA... ....toss in Laylin, Cullen....keep Gordon and Martin. Not even close IMO.
  18. Based on Larson's visit with PA on KFAN, revamping the defense is his 1st priority. I'm guessing he is waiting to see who is in the portal to fill in the holes, who from Canadian JRs would even consider MN, and making decisions based on current roster and incoming recruits.
  19. SCSU update, probably to nobody's surprise, Sydney Wolf now thinks the finalists are: Oliver, Herter and Winters.
  20. Gophers: Vegoe posted on GPL that Matt Cullen will be in a "player development role." Rumored that Laylin will be an assistant and possibly keep Gordon and Paul Martin, leaving Steve Miller odd man out. SCSU: Sydney Wolf tweeted out yesterday SCSU was hesitant about letting current assistants go, assumed that was due to budget. She later tweeted that Bemidji assistant Trevor Winter is one name she's heard a few times....but also noted that it's been pretty tight lipped who the other finalists are.
  21. He had put some Gopher goalie equipment on Facebook marketplace before Larson was hired so we knew that one was coming....kinda funny.
  22. Yes. Mooney and Ziemer have both had NIL type announcements recently (Ziemer yesterday or Sunday), so fans thinking that's a good sign.
  23. Should be a great Frozen Four. UND-UW, as a Gopher fan I'd just like to see a meteor shower lol. UND has a better roster and should be favored, the wildcard in that crafty SOB behind the bench for Wisconsin. Perhaps offset however, but UNDs advantage in the pipes with Spunar. I'll take UND 4-2. DU-Michigan. When Michigan is going, they are electric and I'm not sure anyone can stop them, as evidenced by jumping on UMD. But then the Dogs turned the tables. UM will try to get up and down the ice, will be interesting to see how Carle combats that, because DU has the skill and grit to play whatever style is necessary. Stay out of the box and I like the Pioneers chances - I think this is an OT game and a toss up. My brain says DU because of street cred, my stomach says UM. UND - Michigan for the ship. Regardless, Frozen Fours don't grow on trees. Enjoy the ride, one hell of a turnaround by UND this season - forget that Michigan and UW didn't make the tournament last year either. Gives me a little hope for the Larson's squad next year at least. Good luck!
  24. Pretty innocent play on Stramel, sometimes those turn out the worst. Hopefully not for his sake.
  25. Sometimes you need some puck luck, and then a beauty for Sparty. 31 seconds apart, 2-1. TV mentioned they are likely without Stramel the rest of the game.
