  1. I watched Mollberg play last night against a young and undersized EGF team. He is a decently tall thick qb. In warm ups he was throwing 30 yard darts no problem (receivers were a different story). Throws a tight low ball. It doesn't seem to sail. During the game he ran. A lot. Don't jump on me for this comparison but if you want one he looks and runs like Tebow. Not fast but finds a seam and will always plow forward. Throwing during game was a tough read. His line can't pass block. If players on a d line that are giving up 20-40 lbs can break through and put pressure then the pass blocking is bad. So he was under pressure on first couple passes and made one horrible throw that I think he was hit on. Then DL started rolling him. To the left (he's righthanded). He made one 15 pass doing this where receiver was dragging goal line towards left sideline and Mollberg placed it perfectly for the TD. Very nice throw. He tried one deep ball all game and it was an effortless throw form 45 yard line. It was just past receiver's hands (we all felt he could've caught it) and landed at goal line. Beautiful ball and it looked like he wasn't trying. And it went 45 yards in air. I was very impressed with the pace and tightness of his throws. I'm not a guru so can't comment on footwork and the like. I don't know if I could say he's Big Ten qb material but this is from one game. He had one throw land at feet of kid and another terrible decision while being sacked. Just flung it backwards over head towards line of scrimmage and got intentional grounding. He just never had time to stand in pocket and throw. And they didn't have to throw much. I'm impressed by him and can't wait to see him in a Sioux jersery (hopefully). Edit: Forgot to mention he had 3 rushing and one passing td in first half. He didn't play the whole second half.
  2. I don't think you can say small. The high school is almost 750 students and they play in second highest classification in Minnesota. Football is king there. They've had many good teams there. I believe they had quite the state streak in the 90s and that was before the expanded classifications in MN. ira would be able to answer much better.
  3. With all the rambling you do you'd think you could get the easy fact correct. Unless your 9-man every team plays A ball in Minnesota. Detroit Lakes happens to play AAAA ball with AAAAA being biggest classification (next year there will be a 6th class). Now if you can't get that straight how are we to believe your td to interception ratio statement?
  4. My problem was that she was talking during play and it was taking away from my experience of watching the game. They can play the games and throw crap I don't care. But it shouldn't override the game.
  5. Not taking shots. They can and should've beat the Gophers every time they've played them and have done it 2 out of 3??? And should've won the other time as well. I was taking exception to your statement about arguing about their FBS record. I think you can argue it. Heck it should be better! Is Idaho good this year? No. But we don't match up well with passing teams. Sure I would love to win against FBS competition but the Gophers don't seem to be competition for FCS schools.
  6. She was reading all the bios and stuff for hall of fame inductees. Why during play is beyond me. The dumb games are not that important during the media timeouts and it should've been done then. When I'd run into people at the game or at half they all said how annoying she was.
  7. I think you can. Those teams (other than Central Mich) would not compete very well at FCS level. They are bottom 5 FBS schools that they have been beating. If NDSU is a good FCS school they should win those games.
  8. I realize we could run it and you do what gets you the W, but I really think we need to pass more. We are thin at running back. Just this week Muss was saying we need to not have Miller carry so much like last week. We were up early and had a very nice lead in the 2nd quarter where I felt we could take some chances and work on the pass game.
  9. I'd really like to see the passing game get going. Fling it all over the field and then let Goska run all second half.
  10. I believe you but am trying not to get my hopes up too much until something official. But awesome news. Can't wait to see him play next week @EGF.
  11. I believe it was coach Berg on the radio this morning and he said that BHSU plays a 3-3 action up front but actually has two other linebackers that will rush from ends. So I guess a 3-5-3 defense?
  12. I've done my part. Gave my tickets to some new fans to check out and got myself another one. It will be nice to catch some live football and personally I like the later (but not too late start) as it gives me time to flip channels and watch all the afternoon games.
  13. To maybe answer a question from earlier in the thread: on the herald sportswriters chat one of the reporters said volleyball isn't eligible for NCAA tourney until next year. But that could be wrong.
  14. I think it's great that the athletes support each other. Quite a few softball players were there along with a handful of basketball players. I know one game I went to last year almost the whole mens basketball team was there.
  15. The helmets were the part I didn't like. And I didn't mind Oregons. They seemed sedated to their usual flashy ways. I believe Notre Dame at Michigan will be wearing some throwbacks this weekend to make everyone nostalgic.
  16. I will be there and am stoked. I was bummed to miss the Montana match. These girls are so athletic and volleyball is a fun sport to watch.

Lots of you are forgetting that this offense we were facing is not one you can blitz. They get rid of the ball too quick so blitzing only puts us in a worse situation. What I expected was to finally see the corners jamming some receivers. That didn't happen.

If you have the DirecTV sports pack, then you have some other future opponent's games. I saw Idaho was on one channel. Also UC-Davis @ ASU on fox sports AZ.

  21. If this happened would all the CCHA commish and staff stay in place? And no way does the NCAA not give NCHC and B1G an auto bid. They need those teams and their fans in the tourney. I don't think the NCHC needs an auto bid, but the B1G on the other hand...
  22. I don't think we'll see Goska on the field as anything other than a qb too often. From the way Mussman was making it sound Goska is the #2 qb and they aren't going to want to risk an injury to their back up qb. Personally I'd say to hell with it and let him and Hendrickson play wherever they can help us on the field. I hate the idea of having some of your better athletes standing on the sideline to be backups.
  23. Nice to see the ESPN3 especially now that midco internet has picked that up.
