Tournament will be in Denver this season. Volleyball, along with soccer, softball and baseball, play their tournament at the home field/court of the previous regular season champion.

The salaries for each of 3 men's basketball assistants at USD last year were approximately $70,000 each and the assistant coaches at SDSU were at approximately $85,000 each. I believe Davidson's salary at UND was in the range of $40,000 to $45,000.

In addition to Sioux Falls hosting the west regional at the Premier Center on March 23-24, 2018, they are also hosting both the men and womens NCAA D2 basketball Elite Eight at the Sanford Pentagon on March 19-24, 2018. Might want to get your motel rooms early.

There is a group of posters on Any Given Saturday that have made that site pretty much useless unless one enjoys following a conversation at the 2nd or 3rd grade level.

The 2 South Dakota schools are never going to leave the Summit League as long as the Summit League tournament is in Sioux Falls, and I believe that about a year ago an extension was signed to keep the tournament in Sioux Falls through 2022.

Some comments in today's Live Chat with Argus Leader USD's beat writer, Mick Garry, that UND to the Summit is almost a lock and don't count out UND to the MVFC.

The Yotes & Hawks did have a closed door scrimmage this past Saturday in Vermillion. Have heard no reports on how the scrimmage went.

Based on the results of the Yotes against both teams, UND should rally from a 6 TD deficit at the start of the 4th quarter to pull off the W. Not game related, but I challenge the UND fan base to match the $10,000 plus funds raised for Sara Hill, the wife of Weber State head coach Jay Hill. Sara was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Here is the Midco story on the fundraiser . Would love to see all the Big Sky teams that host Weber State this year take on the same challenge and see if they could raise more $ than the Coyote "Brotherhood". Only winners in that sort of challenge.

Nagy went to Wright State, not Murray State. Murray is finally making the return trip to Brookings this year as a result of the ESPN bracketbuster game that SDSU played a few years ago at Murray State. USD will host Bowling Green from the MAC and 3 Big Sky teams this year (Montana, Montana State and Sacramento State). Not sure why UND and USD have not matched up in men's hoops since the Great West days.

Like I stated earlier, I think UND joining the Summit is a win/win and would definitely add strength and stability to the Summit. That still leaves the football question. A strong Summit is good for the MVFC. UND's path to joining the MVFC comes down to these 2 questions: 1)How much leverage could USD, SDSU, NDSU & WIU exert on the MVFC to add UND? The MVFC without the 4 Summit schools would be on dangerous footings. 2)Would the 4 Summit League schools exercise that leverage?

I don't know what sports are required by the Summit. USD participates in all 9 women's sports sponsored by the Summit, but only participates in 5 of the 8 men's sports (basketball, cross country, track & field, golf and swimming & diving). They don't participate in baseball, tennis and soccer on the men's side.
