Two goals in 10 seconds.
-
And just like that, DU goes up 3-1 on Miami in the 3rd. Two goals in 10 seconds for the Pios. Jack Doremus who had 1 career goal now has 2 in 10 seconds.
-
I gotta make the scoresheet somehow.
-
I never would’ve saw US scoring 5 in the third! What I liked was how WE kept coming at Western even after WE popped in a couple early rather than sitting back. Nice bounce back for US! Edit: This post is dedicated to @MafiaMan

A few weeks ago, CC beat Duluth on a Friday night and then the next night, UMD came out like a completely different team. I have a feeling Sandelin wasn’t very happy with his team’s performance last night and tonight will be a tougher challenge. He has a way of motivating his boys but hat said, I hope UND responds in kind and sweeps Duluth tonight!

We blew a 2 goal lead-again-in the 3rd period. Here we go, another overtime.
-
Touché! That was a good one!
-
Wilkie with a bomb to put CC up 1-0 midway through the first period. It’s now 2-1 CC after one.
-
I was wondering about that! Nice that they slipped that in!
-
Oh, I know nothing about them. I looked up their website and it appears they’ve been involved in several sports arena projects. They want an open concourse concept which I am a big fan of. Edit: I should say, up until today, I knew nothing about JLG but from what I heard today, I was impressed with their preliminary designs.
-
They went out of their way to speak to the exterior and how they want it to not look like the typical square arena, that they want the architecture to compliment the neighborhood/school/state. Very preliminary and there will likely be many iterations over the course of the coming weeks.
-
I attended one of the several Robson Arena community meetings this morning on the CC campus and there was a small-but very vocal-group of Old North End wine & cheese crowd who definitely do not want a hockey arena in their back yard. The architecture firm hired by CC is JLG Architects and is based out of North Dakota and one of their reps, Adam Davidson, flew in from Grand Forks to speak about the preliminary designs of the arena. I was very impressed with the proposed design and layout but the question/problem they still have not addressed is parking. No commitments to build a parking structure at or near the new arena.
-
I’m just glad we no longer hang participation banners anymore. CC has a whole slew of them hanging in World Arena and I think that when I go to the Robson Arena meeting tomorrow, I’m going to strongly suggest they not hang those in the new barn. We’re the butt of DU’s jokes for enough reasons, no reason to give them yet another reason to poke fun at our expense.

Air Force scored about 35 seconds into the game to take a 1-0 lead over Canisius College.
-
Well, the coaching staffs for Omaha and Miami actually shook hands after tonight’s game.
-
Story of our season....all Swedish, no Finnish.
-
Given the rich tradition of the program and Murray Armstrong’s legacy, it’s a shame they didn’t name the arena after him, or at the very least, the rink. Also, DU should have a concourse littered with tributes to past teams/players, similar to the Ralph, Agginas, and Mariucci.
-
Agreed. Love the Sioux name but time to get over it and move on and embrace the Fighting Hawks!
-
NU puts up 49 shots and wins 2-1 in OT on a breakaway goal by Tyler Madden. Next week, Northeastern versus Boston College for the Beanpot tournament.
-
Leave it to Harvard to lay an egg in the Bean Pot...
-
BC beat Harvard this afternoon, 2-1 and meanwhile, Northeastern and BU are tied 1-1 late in the 2nd of the second Beanpot semi-final.

You guys aren’t going to believe me but there are a TON of drunken UND fans here at Magness Arena!
-
That huge save Larsson made when UND had a gaping net on the short handed opportunity was the epitome of our season. Our guy basically one-timed it at an open net and didn’t score. Not sure what more he could’ve done. That was an example of the puck luck DU was getting and we weren’t getting. I liked our compete level and a buddy of mine who went who never watches college hockey thought UND out-played Denver.
-
Well, if UND has to travel on the road in the first round, I’d like our chances against DU given the way we played and matched up against them. I thought that UND deserved a better fate last night, particularly the first period which UND dominated.
