  1. Im disappointed, I trolled GPL this morning on the UofM/SCSU page, hoping and expecting to see some witty comments from MafiaMan and found nothing! What's up, MafiaMan, are you just not wanting to "poke the bear" prior to our series down there in Minneapolis???
  2. Anyone know where a guy can watch the highlights of the gopher/St cloud game?
  3. Yah me too! I hope one gopher fan in particular had a birds eye view of the OT winner (this POS who was being a royal d bag to some UND fans at the UND/UM series in 2012 at the John).
  4. You know us UND fans hate the gophers when we take great delight in Jan Brady State beating them!
  5. I'm too lazy to do the digging but my guess is, UND has not been the league leader in PIMS oh, say the past five years. Our team and game has evolved, we don't have a roster loaded with 6'5" 230 lb D men and forwards who like to fight (this is not a criticism of past UND teams, simply an observation). When I think of UND's blue line these days, I think of guys like Simpson, Genoway, Stecher, etc. Fast, offensively gifted D men. Am I wrong?
  6. Well, we can agree to disagree. Unless someone has proven to be a liar, I can only take them at their word. Plus, if your account is true, why would Gwoz waste his time approaching and talking with a linesman? Why not walk over to one of the Refs?
  7. I hear you. He was a very intense coach. There is a common misperception that the time he walked out on the ice at the Ralph was because he wanted to argue some more with the officials. Gwoz went on to admit in an interview that the reason he walked out on the ice was because he got confused. At Magness, DU has to go across the ice to get to their locker room and according to Gwoz, he realized the folly of his confusion when he got about two-thirds of the way across the ice and was so embarrassed, he simply tried selling it as if he meant to do it. Plus, if he really intended to do what he did, he wouldn't have approached a linesmen, he would've went up to a Referee. Watch the video and you'll see what I mean.
  8. Can anyone provide some color on the HOF game and why only one game is played? Seems like an awfully long trip for RPI simply to play just one game.
  9. I take issue with the comment about not liking DU because of Gwoz. Montgomery is one of the classiest guys in NCAA hockey so my thoughts about Gwoz are no reflection of Monte but there are so many reasons why college hockey would be better off with the Gwoz back in it. This topic has been hashed and re-hashed long ago but the classy manner in which Gwoz handled the royal screwing he got from the AD and chancellor, his level of success in bringing the DU program back to national prominence, and the classy things he has always had to say about UND, are but a few of the many reasons to respect and like George. The Gwoz was once quoted as saying during the nickname controversy, "They will always be the Fighting Sioux to me."
  10. Pio Dylan Gambrell out 4-6 weeks with an injury.
  11. Honnen ice arena is on campus and it's very old and the ice sheet isn't even NHL size. They're going to demolish it and then start a new fundraising campaign and hit us alums up for more money to finance a new building, whatever that may be.
  12. Yah, Joe Paisley wrote about it in his column in the Gazette. I guess the rule they went with was, first one to score. So, Ohio State shot first and missed and then AF went and scored and that was that however the refs didn't realize that at first and they set the puck up for the OSU player to shoot next and it was the scorekeeper who blew the horn and notified the officials of the rule so the game ended.
  13. It was a weekend for the birds! UND Fighting Hawks, Air Force Falcons, and the BC Eagles all won tonight! Particular shout out to the AF Falcons for their huge weekend beating BC and Ohio State to claim the 2016 Ice Breaker Tournament!
  14. I'm going to the two games at Magness today.....so tempted to wear my UND gear. Should I do it???
  15. Home games against seemingly "inferior" opponents have tended to be closer in final score (not necessarily on-ice performance or SOG)....Recall Huntsville last year? I'm going with a 3-1 final score, UND, but doubling up Canisius College (the other CC) in shots and a significant territorial advantage.
  16. Here's a good preview of DU.... https://letsgodu.com/2016/09/30/2016-17-university-of-denver-hockey-season-preview/
  17. Sadly, CC has participation banners up in World Arena. I really wish they'd take down all of them except for the NCAA and WCHA banners.
  18. Wow. Not exactly enough to cover the University of Manitoba's annual athletic budget.
  19. Things that make you go hmmmm.... Question: when these Canadian universities travel down to the States to play exhibition games, who pays their travel, food, lodging costs? Is there a similar arrangement as college football where the bigger power schools pay the little FCS schools a big chunk of change to play the game?
  20. Cool video man! As you and every fan of whoever their team happens to be should be pumped up!
  21. I'm new to NCHC.tv but was wondering what the easiest way to watch the UND game online is? I was watching the WMU/Toronto game but then stopped it to go to the UND game and now it's saying, "cannot view from this device." Thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
  22. http://www.uscho.com/2016/09/21/simon-fraser-minot-state-making-cases-to-join-division-i-lineup/ Something else Simon Frasier should think about is how attached they are to their nickname. If they joined the NCAA, they'd likely have to drop that nickname.
  23. As tempting and easy as it would be to pin this all on Torts, this lethargic play has to be at the feet of the players.
  24. On the NHL Network yesterday afternoon they reported that Alex Ovechkin said he intends to play in the 2018 Olympics regardless of the NHL will allow players to participate.
