Ausmus/Stetcher was our best defensive pair before Stetcher was injured but I find myself also liking this Ausmus/Panz pair. Not as offensively capable but they definitely clear out the front of the net.

I'd rather have a player be a goon straight up and willing to engage in fisticuffs than someone that takes cheap slashes at somebodies knees.

If OD is better on a lower line, should Hak keep Poolman at forward and on that top line and keep OD down on 3rd/4th line? That way we can get Panz more ice time and then Stecher slides right back in when he's healthy.

That third line (except Pattyn) is just wasted potential. I'd rather see the fourth line have more ice time than the third...

To be honest, this game could easily have gone UND's way with the bounce of a puck or two. Remember all the chances that UND had that just barely missed. Had any of those gone in, UND carries more momentum and possibly isn't as sluggish in the 2nd/3rd. UND plays better tonight and gets the split. Murphy doesn't see ice time the rest of the year (unless devastated by injuries).

With how this game has been, I just hope we don't get swept at home. UMD has dominated play most of the night.

Kind of question that powerplay. Late in the powerplay it looked like they were specifically trying to setup a shot for Murphy from the top of the circle and the pass was always deflected.

Get out on the field and try officiating, even at a sub-varsity high school level. Then bump that up to the game speed the pros go. You'll find it's a lot more difficult than sitting in your chair with a nice high def tv and instant replay.

Since Murphy isn't scoring like he should, he should be making up for it in other ways. Yes he had an assist in the U-18 game but he also took a horrible penalty that was away from the puck, in the middle of the ice and was completely avoidable/unnecessary. That kind of mistake against Duluth could prove costly.

Agreed with the others, Sanderson in and Poolman stays at D. Panz would be a liability with all the Duluth speed.

I predict UND will bring in recruits that can play football. Some of them are even going to be good and will wind up starting someday. Call me Football Nostradamus
