    Week 12 Scores

Montana is beating MSU 7-3 in the second quarter. PSU is beating EWU 13-0 after 1.
  2. When our defense is finally making stops, why can't our offense do anything? So frustrating!
  3. That fumble recovery is huge. Bailed out the defense big time.
  4. Those on the chat and according to the UNC broadcaster, they thought Jake was down before the ball came out. He was also injured on the play, which is just tough to deal with.
  5. UNC missed a 49 yard field goal, UND drives it down field and converts a 27 yard FG.
  6. 24-21 UND but UNC is driving.
  7. Bohl is a better gameday coach than Mussman, that's one reason. NDSU had to contend with fewer schools for recruits when they transitioned (UND is competing against two local already established FCS programs plus USD). Also don't forget a couple years back NDSU went 3-8 towards the end of their transition. UND will improve, it's all just a matter of time. Either from getting more talented recruits or by coaching changes, who knows what the catalyst might be.
  8. Well this game is out of hand.
  9. Antwi misses two free throws. UND down by 10
  10. Why didn't Archer go up with that? Arg!
  11. Just heard we were shooting only 27%, that's sad.
  12. This is a perfect storm of crap for UND right now. We can't buy a basket and UNI can't miss it seems. Of course they are getting wide open shots. I have no idea why our defense is leaving shooters open when they are shooting as hot as they are. Makes no sense.
  13. UND looking terrible right now, especially on defense. Allowing a ton of penetration.
  14. I think we've established that UNI can shoot the 3...so please kindly stop letting them have wide open shots!
  15. I think Antwi's confidence builder was last year. He looked far more sure of himself with the ball when I saw him against Crown. Granted it was against a weaker opponent, but he took the open shots given to him and looked to create for himself and others. He's a great second option to Webb at the point.
  16. Refs are starting to call done really ticky tacky fouls they haven't called all game
  17. We need more shooters than just Lauck and Smart, that's going to be a problem for the rest of the year unless some of the others (Burck, Rothfusz, Buck) can start hitting some more of their open jump shots. We also need something more from our two primary point guards, Williams and Mills. Not sure they made any jump shot, and they didn't seem eager to create anything on the dribble other than bringing it up court. They are both solid on defense though, so perhaps that's all Brewster is wanting from them. Harvard definitely outplayed us, got way to many open looks and were able to cause numerous turnovers. The unusual zone was a 2-1-2 extended zone defense with a trap, either at the point or if the ball was swung to the wings. It should have been something the coaches were able to address at halftime but if anything, Harvard ran it more in the second half to pretty good success. I saw a few plays run against that zone that worked very well (open jump shots, and open layups), but they were few.
  18. Not sure how the officiating can get much worse. We aren't playing great but when we do have a nice play, Harvard is bailed out by the refs
  19. Wasn't at the game but it's unsettling to hear we were having turnover problems against Mayville St. I think the loss of the Mothershed's from last year will be felt keenly for awhile, they were the main ball-handlers and were fairly safe with the ball. Someone is going to have to step up, take care of the ball, and get us down the court and into our offense. What I saw in the Bemidji game once we got into our offense were lazy passes, telegraphed passes, or passes without even looking at who was defending the receiver. If we picked up the dribble and were pressured, we'd just toss it to a teammate, regardless of how tightly they were covered. That's something that the coaches should be able to address. Really hope we can correct the turnovers, or else it could be a long season.
  20. It would be a pretty dirty move by the NCAA to have it affect players that had already transferred and put in their requests. "Here's a rule change that we're making and we're applying it retroactively to screw all of you over that had already decided to transfer... you know, before the school year started." Then again, the NCAA doesn't often show much common sense and doesn't always keep the best interest of student-athletes in mind.
  21. Yes Evers looked good when she was playing, when she could get in her position and get in the flow of the offense. Yes, she is in better shape than last year, but that is expected with a full year in the strength and conditioning program. Yet there were several times she looked completely gased, even though Houdek played longer minutes and they were spelling Evers fairly often. That's not something totally unexpected for a big early in the season, as there is a difference between weightroom conditioned and game conditioned. I'm sure her game conditioning will improve throughout the year. You are awfully sensitive to critique of a single player, that's what will happen on fan boards.

    SUU game

This team looks like they've already given up. No life on either side of the ball. Defense is just rolling over and giving it up right now
  23. Hopefully Gothberg plays as well tomorrow as Saunders did tonight. Saunders saved the D's butt more than is comfortable.
