Watching the games this past weekend, I like what Murphy is doing. Right now he's not scoring but he's doing all the small things he needs to be doing and has eliminated some of the bonehead play from early in the year. I think next year Murphy could see a breakthrough like O'Donnell had this year. Maybe not to the same level, but I still think he'll be productive.

Pretty nice to get home games as a 4 seed. Oh well.

Barry Melrose simply knows nothing about college hockey.

From the sounds of it BU was given a gift of a powerplay that lead to the game winning goal. Heard that from a buddy of mine who lives out east and just so happens to ref hockey. NCAA fix in to get BU to the FF?

Saw a rumor floating around that UND is looking at the Northstars logo/name. This of course is from a discussion on facebook so take with a grain of salt but here's part of it. "They've already decided [what the new logo will be]. This is just a PR exercise (regarding the nickname committee). I know a guy who is involved in licensed logo apparel for college and pro teams and he says that UND is already in negotiations to purchase the old Northstars logo. This was going on before the new comittee was even formed."

To me the two loaded lines are Cagg/Schmaltz/Parks and OD/Gaarder/Poganski. After that it's a crapshoot.

Really hoping the coaches at least entertain the notion of a Cagg/Schmaltz/Parks line.

It was obvious that Murphy wanted to play, he was throwing everything he had into the game, unfortunately his teammates were not. I thought Murphy actually played a pretty good game.

Surprised I don't see J. Schmaltz name on the early departure thread. Would have fooled me with his play this weekend
