Yes, at first I thought it was my computer, but it sounds like it was a widespread issues. The game started off running great. By the second quarter I was having buffering issues, and after the start of the 3rd quarter it was buffering every 5-10 seconds. I know it is a free webcast, but it is very unimpressive to put that kind of product out there. I don't know if it is UND or Eversports, but they need to figure it out.

Not going to argue that our D couldn't have done more. But the interception was a horrific pass that never should have been thrown and the muffed punt was just unacceptable.

Hard to hate on the Beavers. Back in college, we smoked them during a late afternoon game. I was at suite 49 giving a few Beaver fans a hard time (jokingly of course), they were actually pretty serious and say, "hey, we just appreciate you guys playing us". Made sense, as this was before they were in the WCHA. Pretty cool fans, and a program that really has a chance to do well in the WCHA. For as tough as they usually play UND, I feel like they always under achieve overall, but I would really like to see them do well. ..... just not this weekend.

Actually its that LAND of 10,000 lakes. North Stars isn't a bad name, but its a former MN hockey team and doesn't makes sense for UND. Even so, there isn't enough support for it to win. Based on posted public opion I see the ranking as follows: Roughriders Fighting Hawks Nodaks North Stars Sundogs My personal opinion is as follows: Toss up between Roughriders and Nodaks. Fighting Hawks North Stars Sundogs -
Its not what your asking, its the arrogant way you are asking. Are the questions about Bubba? of course, but he deserves time to prove himself. I'm not sold on the offense... YET. Lets see if Studrud improves in the next year with his passing, lets see how some of our freshman receivers grow. Our RB core is young but shows a lot of promise. Lets see how Heidelbaugh looks at QB in a year or two. Programs don't completely turn around in 1-2 years. New coaches, new schemes, new recruiting.

Maybe they liked what he had to say about what he would do as a head coach. Improved recruiting from a guy who knows the area. What did the candidate pool look like? Can't hire an amazing coach, with nothing but previous success, if he hasn't applied. I know many people like GF, but lets face it, its not like luring a guy to an beautiful, warm, coastal city either. Bottom line, there are many reason that UND may have moved the way that they did. If you want to criticize the hire, maybe you should wait to see what the guy has to offer in the next 2-3 years.

Mussman? Is that you? Stop trolling the forums! jk Optimism comes from an uptick in recruiting. Optimism comes with an FBS win (even if it is against a crap program). Optimism comes from a 4-1 start. Optimism comes from the best defensive team we have had in years. Optimism comes from the most promising run game we have had in years. Does our team still have holes to fill and room to grow. Of course, just like most teams. Even if the optimism comes from an uptick in program interest, who cares? That is still a good thing. Where does all the negativity come from? If you don't like UND football, then go away? If you don't like UND, then go away? Are you the kind of fan who can only cheer for a program when they are at the top? All programs have ups and downs, this has been a long down. New coach, new recruiting, new mentality. Its only the second year of this regime and we have seen more than we ever saw from Muss. Lets give the coach his due time before being overly critical. If you want to critique, that is one thing ... senseless bashing is another.

Has anyone else received their emails? I updated both mine and my wife information through the website, but have not received anything yet! -
Sure hope so. He certainly has the size if he can fill out.

Interesting tidbit ... Kenny Golladay is leading University of Northern Illinois with 34 receptions for 529 yards and 3 TDs. No other receiver on that roster has exceeded 20 receptions or 200 yards. Could we please find another freak athlete like that? Please Bubba? Channel your inner Mussman, but only on this one thing!

Agreed. And no we weren't supposed to make the playoffs, but we also weren't supposed to beat Wyoming and start 4-1. For recruiting purposes, I think the hot start is good as it shows we are trending in the right direction. The Idaho St loss is a step back in terms of program direction (good programs find a way to win, especially those types of games). That being said, we have plenty of opportunities to rebuild our momentum, it start with another road win, then taking on the MT schools. Playoffs are alive, but we just made it much harder on ourselves by blowing that game.

Key questions: Clive would be a huge help to stretch the field. Though even if he is back, how effective will he be right away? I saw him walk by, when they were doing the Cieslak segment on the webcast (the part that actually worked), it looked like he still had a brace or cast on his hand. Hopefully this week, but based on comments made in the past, I have to imagine he'll be back by the MT game. Pure speculation. As for Keaton? he has shown most struggle in the passing game, with a few really nice passing plays sprinkled in. If his ankle doesn't allow him to be close to 100% and capable of making plays with his feet, then I don't want him out there. One, we need someone can at least make passes if they can't run (I lean mollberg, but thats just me). Two, I don't want to see Keaton aggravate anything then be out longer. Is he a top FCS QB, NO. Is he a capable QB? For sure. Needs to improve his pass game, but definitely a nice run threat. Reyes is huge, especially after our terrible safety play last weekend. He was questionable for Idaho State, so I would hope he is back next week. Then again, I don't want to see an further aggravation their either. Especially if we are playing a team that will try to run the ball, rather than pass heavy.

Yeah, my brother was at the Saturday game, and said it was incredibly frustrating to see the goals waved off. Though he said there were 4 goals waved off, but maybe he was eluding to a few close call with pipes as well. Can anyone here imagine, losing a close game after 4 goals were waved off. The Ralph would probably implode.

OKAY .... was Fighting Sioux controversial? Sure. I guess. Will Roughriders be controversial? Sure, I guess .... so why was this ok with the PC crowd? Because these are the kind of people who always need something to cry, whine and rant about. If they replace Fighting Sioux with Sundogs, they won't know what to do with their time. If Fighting Sioux is replace with Roughrider, then they can remain busy with their political correctness agenda.. All kidding aside, I really don't understand the vantage point of us not using Roughriders because of the association with that horrible human being Teddy R (sense the sarcasm). Its the same garbage as the folks in Mpls who want to change the name of Lake Calhoun because of whom the lake was named after. Honestly, growing up I didn't know who John Calhoun was. To me it was just the name of the lake. Now, people are up in arms because they are offended that someone would have a lake named after them, when they didn't obide by the standards of civilization set 150 years after their death? By this same logic, we should take presidents off of our money, tear down a great deal of statues featuring political figures and so on. Heck in another 150 years, we may even need to chastise Obama for certain views that won't be PC in the year 2165 (personally, I don't need to wait that long to chastise Obama ) I'll get off my political soap box, but at some point there needs to be a line in the sand where we don't pick apart the shortcomings, or bad decisions of every person throughout history. There needs to be, to some degree, an understanding that times were different. People thought differently. Different things were acceptable, even if they no longer are. Lets not tarnish our view of every single historical figure on the basis of today's standards, but on the accomplishments they made to make the country what it is. I'm not saying celebrate their shortcomings; but there is no need to pick all of them apart either. (Rant Over) Go Sioux! Go Nodaks! Go Roughriders!

Trap game

Weber definitely has the capability to pass. Saw them burn NDSU defenders a few times. If last weeks game was a must win, this game is now critical. We need to win this game, then take either MT or Cal Poly on the road. N. Colorado is the most winnable game left on the schedule, and MT State at home, is winnable, but our pass D will need to take some big strides. Ultimately, we can probably afford to drop one more game, but I really don't think it can be this weekend. MT isn't a great team right now, but it still a tough place to play. Would prefer to leave one more loss until Cal Poly, purely because that is a tough team to play with their triple option. If anyone is going to run on us this year, it will be cal-poly.

Was there ever a firm answer for why the webcast crapped out during the game on Saturday? What it a Alerus Center issue, or an Eversports issue?
-
Definitely .... rankings in general are pretty much garbage until mid-late January. Still nice to see a #1 next to the Sioux ... or at least a number higher than the one listed next to the goofers.
-
too bad we couldn't have capitalized on that Maine game. Not because it would solidify #1 (rankings are fun, but trivial; that being said I always like knowing we are the top team). More so, because non-conference wins are so key. At least we didn't lose, and it sounds like Maine has a heck of a goalie in McGovern.
-
With Duluth, BU and BC all dropping games this weekend, will UND jump to the top spot this week?
-
true, not saying we will win every game, but we definitely are good enough too. Like you said, turnovers will lose them all. This team is truly its own worst enemy right now.
-
Also, who starts this weekend? Mollberg or Bartels? I've always like Mollberg better, but don't know if he is healthy yet. I do think that both are better passers than Studsrud, and hopefully between that, and whenever Clive gets back, we can become more two dimensional. (That is not a knock on Studsrud, he is young and still needs to develop his passing game)
-
2 things I really like about this. By using a heavy rush, Weber should go head to head against our tough run D. I think that favors us. Also nice to see that MT is susceptible to a heavy run game. This last weekend was a big step backwards, not just in losing, but in how we lost by epic collapse. I still think this is a team that is capable of making the playoffs, given the outlook of the conference this year. MT and MT St. are not the power teams we ususally see. E Washington is very tough, but even they have only be Sac State by 8. UND needs to win this weekend, and move back in the right direction. Our team is definitely capable of winning any game left on there schedule. Doesn't mean they will, but if they play the way we have seen them play at times, and start limiting these turnovers, there is still hope.

We better hope idaho st has a few more surprise wins against top team. We will need help now.
