Here are some statistical rankings between UND and Cal-Poly (Not sure if the Big Sky website was already updated from this past weekend or not, but you get the idea). Ultimately, we have the Top Rushing Offense (Cal-Poly) against the Top Rushing Defense (UND). On the flip side, we also have an excellent run game, and Cal-Poly is middle of the pack for Run D. Neither team has much of a passing game (worst two in the big sky), though UND seems to have been a little more effective with the pass over the past two games. Maybe there will be a few opportunities for a deep ball to Clive this week. UND should definitely win the special teams battle this weekend, especially since we just played the best return team in the Big Sky, and we are now moving on to the worst. Ultimately, I think this should be played a lot like our game against Wyoming. Wyoming was supposed to be a heavy run team, with two star RBs. UND was able to completely eliminate them (granted it will be different defending the triple option). This will probably be a quicker game, with so much running, but UND really needs to focus on ball security. They have done a nice job with that since the bye, and it needs to continue now. Win and in? There is no guarantee, but I think we will be in good position. I think we are ahead of N. Arizona (if they lose). Hoping Portland St keeps rolling and knocks E Washington out. Wildcard game will be Mt State hosting Montana, Go Cats! i think it is generally considered a positive thing. Though I'm assuming the teams played are in that conversation. So a win against ndsu would have looked more impressive than a win against Wyoming. In our case we have an FBS win while some of the other bubble teams have a D2 win. In that scenario we should get the edge. At this point we just need to beat Cal poly, and wait.

I'll just throw this out there as a suggestion, for anyone who may be listening. Regardless of what happens with the name of the site, it would be cool to have the top of the website have all of the UND logos, from anything relating to flickertails, to the ND, to the Sioux logos, to Hawk/Roughriders. Just a though.

Yeah, but I have typed siouxsports.com into my web browser so many time, that their is no changing my muscle memory. I'm just not sure I could overcome the change.

Not sure how much to read into this. I'm also listening on the radio and not watching. I'm not a great basketball mind, but I love to follow UND.I assume MN-Morris isn't even great within their own divisionI know we're young, but I suppose Tuesday will be a little better measuring stick, as to how we match up against solid competition.

Voted Nodaks twice, and moved to Roughriders. I hope they get a logo done fairly quickly. Nothing will replace my Fighting Sioux hockey jersey, but I could be persuaded into buying a hat or something.

I think it would be easy to say the key for UND is going to be good secondary play. Though given that our team has fumbled more times than I ever though possible, I'm going to say the real key to winning this game for UND is ball security. Hold onto the ball, and we shouldn't have too many issues.

Agreed, I did think of the injury aspect, but I was really thinking more of a pond hockey, no contact, type of event. I think that is the only way you would get away with doing something like that.

Wow, do I remember that game. Not because it was a great game (I don't remember), or because we won (which I know we did), but because of that weekend in general. Not only did we play UMD in football, but we also played them in hockey. So my room mates and I have the brilliant idea, late on a Thursday night, to skip Friday classes and head to Duluth for the game. Being a poor college kid, I wake up early, bike over to Plasma, and donate for some weekend cash (proud moment to be the first one in the door so I can get some weekend money for a quick road trip ) The catch to this entire trip being, I need to be back to Grand Forks, and at the Alerus Center by 7:30 on Saturday morning, as I was in the band and there was playoff football. So we drive to DuluthWe eat Dinner and drinkWe drink and go to the hockey gameWe drink more and go to sleep (for about an hour or so)We wake up at about 3:30 and hit the road.We pull into Grand Forks, after being gone for a grand total of about 21 hours.I show up to the Alerus Center a little late, for what may very well have been the longest football game of my life!UND Football Win, and a UND Hockey Sweep ...
