Not going to argue this at all, but to say that 99% of a fan base would base their decision to vote on a new name, because it has a few feathers that somewhat resemble the old logo seem pretty preposterous. The truth is you could get Ben Brian to make a logo for any of the nickname options (except for sundogs because its hideous), and ask him to incorporate something subtle from the previous logo. Maybe a side profile, maybe a color scheme, maybe a feather. It doesn't mean we have to hang our hat on an ugly logo that is currently owned by someone else.

Fighting Hawks won't likely win over Roughriders, and if it does UND likely won't utilize that ugly logo. As mentioned, I'll vote for Nodaks or Roughriders. Go Sioux!

Disagree, there are plenty who like it, but plenty who don't. Personally, I think its absolutely hideous. Though I completely agree that every name can be upgraded with a logo. It is the one thing that has me somewhat on board with Roughriders. I'm going Nodaks or Roughriders.

Significant injury to the D? I can only think Reyes or Ratelle. Hopefully I'm wrong, and hopefully whoever is injured isn't out too long.

31 UND 20 PSU I think Portland St had a strong showing against WSU, but beating the Idaho St then a bad D2 school doesn't say a ton. It means this program could be really good, or still somewhat unproven. Either way, I think these are two very similar teams, but I think UND will come out on top, taking yet another step forward with our program.

Yeah, haven't been a fan since I saw it. True, it almost definitely would not be the logo, though I wouldn't put it past the school to try to purchase it from the blackhawks (considering there was talk about purchasing the North Star name). Regardless, I won't be voting for Fighting Hawks. I'll be going for either Nodaks or Roughriders.

That logo is hideous. This entire process has been a debacle, but if UND could have made even one small improvement to this final vote (other than including just North Dakota) it would have been to provide some logo ideas for each of the nickname. That could go a long way in swaying or changing a person's vote.

Take some tips from NDSU. My in-laws say that their tailgating used to be horrible. They wanted it to be like UNDs was. Now NDSUs tailgating has taken off (yes all the winning helps) but it also managed well. Sounds like UND's is going the wrong way. Take some notes from NDSU's tailgating, and Win games! I still say bring it back to campus too.

Don't forget that playing outdoors can affect recruiting. Hard to win some of the recruiting battles when you are trying to tell a kid he could be playing in below zero temps.

I actually think you stay in the Betty, and add some seats. I know they use a lot of that open space for practice, but I'd rather see some permanent seat go in each of the ends. I'm not a fan of basketball in the Ralph. Too big and too empty.
