Lets try it a different way. Say Nodak, Say Canucks .... doesn't sounds so stupid Say UND Nodaks, Say Vancouver Canucks .... still doesn't sounds so stupid Say Sundogs ..... NO DON'T University of North Dakota Nodak, may sounds a little goofy, but people would get used to it, or just call them North Dakota. Really, I think anything will sound good, and I'll probably just say Sioux anyway, like I always have. Regardless, if it is Nodaks, they should consider using Fighting Nodaks to sound more appealing. -
I would agree with this in several cases, but for MOST voters, The order of this particular vote won't matter, unless they were undecided at the time of opening their email and link. I think 99.99999% of voters in this vote, already had their minds made up prior to see any random order. That being said, I think this is a standard practice for places like qualtrics to avoid accusations and criticism about trying to sway a vote.

Yep, either Studrud needs to figure out the passing game or he won't last long. Not sure how mobile or accurate Heidlebaugh is? Is he really the next guy, or with the next guy being coming up in the next recruiting class?

So does UND maintain the top spot with a tie and a win? Omaha has been really hot.
-
exactly. easier said than done, but its their job to get it done. Too bad they blew such a great oppotunity. Hopefully they come out strong in MT.

Did you register before 10/1? I had not been receiving emails from UND because I was on the Do Not Email list. When I call, they fixed that, but they also told me that being on the Do Not Email list would NOT affect who received the email from Qualtrics. That email was going out to everyone in their system that had a confirmed email address.

It really is pretty heartbreaking. Considering we had such a nice start, and were really outperforming expectations. This team is so close to being 6-1, but the fact that we are not, just shows there is still a gap between where we are and where we need to be. Expectations will be even higher next season, but I could also see the Big Sky being a stronger conference next year. Seems like kind of a down year for a few teams.

On the Qualtrics site, Nodaks was listed first for me. Must be random
-
Definitely going to be interesting to see if Nodaks got enough momentum in this last week to overturn the Roughriders option.
-
I think most people are on the same page, that none of these are ideal. I just put in for Nodaks and my wife is doing the same. I could live with Roughriders or Fighting Hawks.
-
Well you beat me to the punch by like 3 minutes. I made a straw poll thread too. oh well. I'll post my vote, once I have made it. Probably going to be Nodaks for me and probably the same for my wife. We'll see if that changes.

lol probably. I don't expect this team to make the playoffs, given where they are right now. But I'm also not ready to give up on them, based on two terrible quarters.
-
Wasn't saying it was going to happen, I'm just saying this isn't a bad team, and it is certainly possible. If they figure out how to close out their games, they could certainly win any of their last 4. Will they? Probably not. But lets remember this game is not just about the 4th quarter either. Prior to their terrible collapses, this team has shown a lot of promise. I think it is completely fair to be critical of these collapses, as they should never happen, let along two weeks in a row. But if we are going to be critical of that, we also have to give due credit for what the team has done right. Like I said, if you read the whole post; Should this team make the playoffs? NO. But if this team starts closing out their games, and making some adjustments, is it possible? Sure. For me the really disappointing part is this team took several steps forward leading up to the Idaho St. game, and now we have seen two giant steps backwards. Not just in losing the games, but how we lost them. Even if we squeaked out the win against Weber, the way they played in the 4th would still raise a ton of questions.
-
Just took a looks at some of the the other schools schedules, and I still think the Big Sky could have a lot of shifting in the standing over the next few weeks. E Washington is definitely the best team in the conference right now, but they still have some tough games on their schedule. S Utah has been dominant, especially recently, but they haven't had the strongest schedule yet either. It will definitely be an interesting rest of the season.

What did the customer made jerseys look like? I was thinking jerseys with Nodaks written on them diagonally would be kind of cool. Simple and kind of a vintage look. -
I do hope that Rudolph re-evaluates his play calling this week. Particularly later in the game. There were a few drives, where I just could not understand what he was trying to accomplish. Its not that he calls bad plays, but the timing of some of the plays is pretty strange. Seem like in the 4th quarter he was trying to pick up some longer plays rather than just short yardage plays. With a lead, lets just control the clock, not look to a passing game that has been anemic. That NEEDS to be addressed this week.

I definitely like Mollberg over Bartels. I do understand why they want studsrud in there, but if he is injured then go with joe.

I'm having the same problem. -
Two ways to looks at this team right now. This team had a surprisingly hot start to the year. The run game is a night and day difference from last year. Passing game is still inconsistent, but we added a run element with studsrud. Defense has been great, but lacks depth especially at Safety. Corners are suspect to fail, but are also very young. Ultimately, this team is two quarters away from being 6-1, which would not have even been talked about before the season. Our inability to close out games appears to be due to a young inexperience team, and an staff that still needs to learn how to make adjustments.Unfortunately those two meltdown quarters DID happen, and moral victories suck. Now we are 4-3 with playoff dreams fading really fast. Should this team make the playoffs? Based on our recent meltdowns, I have to say NO. BUT this team has definitely shown promise. and has been in every game except for NDSU, showing they can compete with the majority of the Big Sky. (Weber was supposed to be down, but they are 2nd in the conference right now) Ultimately I think we have to win out to get in. If we lose one more, we are on the fringe.Playoffs are possible, but ultimately this team just needs to focus on winning games, and playing out the 4th quarter. Limiting the fumbles and playing solid D. This is not a bad team, but it is young with room for improvement. Some people are saying injuries and lack of depth is an excuse. I don't quite buy that. Injuries are definitely a factor. Losing some of your most important players is always a factor. That being said, this team also competed for the majority of the past due games without key players. I think it is more of a maturity thing. Still keeping up hope, and it starts this weekend. We need a big time road win, before coming back home.
-
Looks like UND will take yet another giant step backwards today. Winning out is the only playoff opportunity at this point. But these two losses pretty much negate the nice start we had this season.
-
This team continues to be its own worst enemy
-
We need to learn to close out games, letting team stick around just cannot happen every week.
