What a d-bag! Seriously, if you wanted to go to MSU, then choose MSU over UND. I can understand that. Don't commit to a program then flip it two weeks later. Thats a d-bag move. Zero respect for this kid, and I hope UND makes him look ridiculous when we play him. I have a lot of tolerance for kids in this age group, and how they make decision, but this is just stupid. You're a graduate transfer. Time to grow up and own your decisions.

Pretty similar to last year. I believe they had a 4pm start for the Drake game last season. Otherwise all 1pm I think

In a selfish way, I like the 1 pm game because its when my kids go down for nap. On the other hand, it makes getting yard work/house work/etc. difficult to get done.

Agreed. Hawks was one of my least favorite options, but it is what it is. I'm still going to refer to to teams as the Sioux, but maybe I'll eventually embrace the name. We'll see how it goes with time. I can't imagine telling someone on a Friday that I'm excited to watch some Hawk Hockey. Still Sioux Hockey to me. Regardless, I do think they screwed up the logo transition. Though I think that is also something that can be fixed fairly easily by the university, by making some slight adjustments and adding some additional logos. It will evolve and be added to. I don't mind complaining a bit on here, but in terms of changing the name or scrapping the new logo .... that battle is over.

Tough to recruit against a school that has accomplished what NDSU has done over the last several years. We'll have a lot of uphill battles until UND makes some noise in the playoffs (which could happen very soon) or until NDSU takes at least a small step back.

I believe that was on the first play of the game against N. Colorado. I've watched that games highlight film a ton this offseason. Knipp threw 2 or three interceptions that game. Santiago also racked up the rushing yards. Is it football season yet?

Any thoughts on how realistic it is that we land this kid? Definitely tough to out-recruit NDSU on some of these guys. Hope we can land him though.

agreed on Cashman, he has bigger things to worry about right now than basketball. 1 DUI is bad, but being dumb enough to do it twice in two months screams "I need some help". Time for that young man to go get it, before it become an even bigger issue in life.

I have to imagine a lot of people who dislike the new logo feel like I do. I truly do think it is hideous. I think some small improvements (like what some people on this board have done) would make a big difference. I also am way to sick of the nickname logo fight to go anywhere other than this message board to complain. Petitions, emails to the University ... they aren't often read or listened to, and frankly the administration isn't going to act on them. The last time there was an uproar about something, Kelly put No Nickname back on the ballot for a week or two then took it back off. I'm tired of all of this. The new logo was going to happen, I just hope they make the necessary improvements and add another (BETTER) logo to the mix.

Because nobody can really read Santiago's name when he is running that fast anyway.

Is there a reason we haven't see an article on this from Schloss or Miller? There has to be a reason Baker isn't player, whether it is personal choice to leave or dismissal. Regardless, it would be nice to see some information when this happens. Some people on this board claim to be "in the know", so share the knowledge.

Good post, though I will continue to complain about eliminating the interlocking ND symbol. I wonder if that logo will be treated like the others and be included in the Dacota Legacy collection.

Had we never had the Brien logo, and this mockup was made, nobody would give it a second look. I think it is a pretty unique look for a hawk logo. Regardless, I think UND needs some variation of that type of logo. I personally like that 'head dress/feathers" because it gives a flavor of the former logo that everyone loved, while still being completely a hawk logo. Want to get more people to buy into the new name? I think something like that would help. Getting rid of the name and logo was bad. The new nickname process was painful. Phasing out the ND is pointless. The new logo works, but more is needed. UND seems to be focusing on purging everthing historical about the program from the name to the logos. Not sure what the intent was on the ND, but I think fans would like to have something to hold on to. Just my opinion.

Actually yes. I think they could have used some variation of this concept logo as well as a variation of the logo they chose. As I mentioned in another thread, the concept art could lead the way toward a mascot, if that is something that the school wants. You can call the concept art a cartoon. Some have called the logo that was chose a bank logo. There are issues with both options, if they were the only options in place. States the importance of having multiple logos.

I don't buy the headdress business. They are feathers ... birds have feathers. It is incorporating school history into a new name and logo. Regardless, if you think it is an ugly logo, that is an argument that I can completely understand. It is kind of how I feel about the new logo. I think it would be fine as a secondary or alternative logo, but I would prefer something similar to the concept art. Not necessarily that exact one, but some variation of that. I honestly didn't see the state outline incorporation, and I agree, this logo could get rid of that part. If UND is going to go all in with the "Fighting Hawks, they could definitely implement a mascot, but I think you need to implement a strong logo from which the mascot can be based. I don't see any scenario where the current logo could be developed into a mascot. The concept are would be much better IF the school wants to move towards having a mascot.

You could also easily tie in a mascot based on this logo design.

Does anyone know what the intentions are for putting the logo onto green helmets? Outlining the green ND? Changing the color of the ND for the green helmets? Obviously green ND and a green helmet won't work.
