Hoping either stony brook or Bowling Green have webcast options. Would hate to wait until the 3rd game of the season to get to watch. I assume the USD game will be on fox college sports, similar to the Drake game from last year?

Its so easy to forget about Arnell, since he was hurt so early. Was it ever determined if he got the medical redshirt? If so, he'll only be a junior, correct?
-
This kind of stuff makes me so pumped for the season to start!
-
It looks like there will be some tough competition to get this kid.
-
Exactly! Need to at least get a little football chat going on, until we start getting more reading material on the team and the upcoming season.

Agreed, Grady will be a huge part of this team and this line (assuming he does in fact come back and play), but this teams success, and the O-Lines success, is dependent on far more than just Grady. One thing about Grady though .... if you go back to game highlights from last season many of Santiago's long runs were setup by huge blocks from Grady. Would he be a key contributor to get back? Of course! Can this team be highly successful without him? Absolutely! As you mentioned, we need a strong unit that can gel and work together as a whole; but hopefully that unit includes him.

I agree that this is somewhat of a must-win game. Should UND lose, our schedule would certainly allow us to still make a run and make the playoffs. But in terms of the direction of the program and winning the games we should, it is a must win. (Hate the NDSU example, but this isn't a game they would lose, and we all know it). I am a little nervous after seeing how we started last season (yes, we played well and beat Wyoming, though they were terrible), but then we struggled against Drake (way too many errors). I see it as, we had a really young team, that will only be more mature this year. I think the confidence will be there and we will play with a chip on our should after missing the playoffs. Our D should be able to handle their offense. The question will be how does our offense play. SB has a decent defense, BUT we have Santiago who is a total game changer. I don't think Grady will necessarily be the difference (I think we can certainly win without Grady) but I agree having him to block for Santiago is a huge asset. I think we all know the run game will be there, and we will pound the rock with rotations of Santiago, Oliveira, Neverman, etc. The big question mark will be how can we mix it up through the air. It doesn't have to be a ton, but we need to connect on some passes so their D is forced to spread out a bit. Seriously can't wait for football to start.

Summer workouts begin today! Do we know which incoming Freshman are in Grand Forks and participating? Having this kids on campus is critical to getting them acclimated to the team and the college life quickly. It also gets them working out and sizing up the way they should be. Important for everyone, but especially for those with a chance to play this fall. 92 Days!

Whats wrong with this board?
-
That a pretty bold prediction, seeing as he is already gone.
-
agreed, just curious who we are in the conversation for.
-
speaking purely from a talent perspective. I'm more curious who the potential transfers are. I don't really get a say, one way or the other. So I'm just interested who may be coming in and really anxious for any football related news.
-
ok, I'm really getting the itch for some football and since we are still a few months away, I AT LEAST need some football news. Would love to hear something this week regarding potential transfers or maybe a Grady update (though I don't think there will be an official word on this until closer to fall camp). I know in the recruiting thread the name Nigel Bethel was tossed out there, which would be too good to be true, but once can hope. Even if that isn't the potential transfer, it would be nice to see some other names thrown out there. Hopefully we can get some sort of news this week.

SFI mentioned in the most recent post about a potential FBS transfer at cornerback. Does anyone have any ideas who this could be, or where they could be transferring from? Tillman certainly worked out well, and JIS has quite a bit of potential.

This thread is getting completely derailed and I think some are putting too much stock in a thread titled UND and the Big Sky could go FBS. As in, the move is an open ended possibility, IF a number of thing were to work out, AND there were interest from several other schools. Could it happen? Absolutely! Will it happen? Probably not, at least not in the short term. If it does happen, will it be successful? Who knows, NDSU showed that success can be achieved in jumping levels, though the move from D2 to FCS is far different than moving from FCS to FBS. Though even Georgia Southern has shown some success. It all depends who is running your program when you make the transition. It would certainly be fun to see some bigger teams on the schedule. Though if moving to FBS meant becoming a Wyoming, E. Michigan or Idaho at that level, then I'd prefer to stay where we are. We are just getting out of the funk of having one losing season after another and having nothing but hopes to improve. Reading some of their message board is rather depressing. Ultimately, FBS would/could be fun, but I'm certainly happy watching UND playing where they are right now. Just happy they are improving and that the future looks bright.

And as much as I get sick of hearing about the MVFC, they do have some really good teams, which makes for some really good matchups. Can't really knock that too much.

So, I'm getting pretty anxious for Football, even just some updates on the team throughout the summer and into camp. More stories on how amazing Santiago is going to be this year. How Keaton is going to take that next step forward. How our secondary is going to make huge strides and contain the Big Sky passing game. An official word on Grady. Etc. Etc. Etc. While there hasn't been much to read lately (and us hockey fans continue to hang in the balance of Nick Schmaltz), I was over on the Bowling Green forum and someone provided me with the below link. It is an overview of BGSU and their program and what can be expected for next season. I'm definitely looking forward to that game, and while they were a very good MAC team last year, they have lost a ton of talent. No reason UND cannot go in there and make some noise. If I was Santiago, and I saw the film from Georgia Southern running all over BGSU last year, I'd be salivating. Could be a very fun one to watch. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2016/4/19/11443632/bowling-green-football-2016-preview-schedule-roster

This thread is getting ridiculous.

doubt it, but that would be absolutely priceless
