  1. You also must have missed the part where I said is wasn't an option at the time and that it was hypothetical and that UND took the only invite they had in the Big Sky, which was a great invite and option. And since conference affiliations never change, specifically within the last 10 years or so, I suppose it shouldn't be discussed as a potential option moving forward either. The title of this thread?
  2. When is the last time we had 10,000 at the Alerus?...
  3. Really? I guess we agree to disagree. People would be getting season tickets that normally wouldnt because of regional familiarity (ndsu, SDSU, USD, UNI, et al) on the schedule. Plus if you want tickets to the big rivalry game, you will want to get on board early.
  4. So Coleman and Shields are still staying too then right? Anyone?
  5. Honest question: How would UND Football ticket sales be in 2015 if we were facing a MVFC schedule versus a Big Sky Football Conference schedule? EDIT: And/or Mens and Womens Basketball?
  6. I argued from the beginning in my personal friend circles that if we had an invite to the MVFC/Summit and an invite from the BSC, that it would be in the best interests of UND to take the MVFC/Summit for a variety of reasons. Of course, Patty, in her infinite wisdom, decided that wasn't a good idea. I think both sides missed out on a good partnership moving forward, specifically with the stabilization of the Summit for Basketball and Baseball. So we didnt have an option, and we took the Big Sky Conference invite, which was and still is an outstanding conference. Also, the travel budgets would be cut down significantly for all sports. I would love to use that money towards coaching salaries that we all crave right now, among other things. Given what has transpired since about 2011 or so, I feel even stronger about this now than I did before. From a business standpoint, I still believe it would be in UND's best interest to be in the MVFC/Summit. Having said that, I was happy then and am happy now that we are in the Big Sky Conference. It's a great league. It's just that in a hypothetical situation, I would choose the closer schools and conference.
  7. I think he was just pointing out how difficult next season could be.
  8. Nice comeback. But you have nothing else, so I guess I don't blame you.
  9. Great job by the SID staff on that one. Very good info.
  10. This is incorrect. The "masses" are the vast majority on this board who disagree with the minority (you).
  11. So did Jensen.
  12. So Coleman and Derouen are expected to be around next season for sure? Thought they were maybe talked about earlier as candidates to leave the program? Or was that bad info on here?
  13. I think this o-line is best served with Meehan down at right guard, assuming you have 2 solid tackles in place between Stockwell, Cox and Camy. That would be ideal I think as I believe Meehan's best natural fit is at guard. It's nice to have that flexibility though. It's also possible and maybe even likely that a freshman hog jumps out in fall camp and is on the 2 deep. I really like how the mentality and makeup of the offensive line is coming along under Bubba, Rudolph and Knauf.
  14. Except for the entire state of South Dakota at minimum, correct? 1 year deals? Are there other states that do that?
  15. Wrong again.
  16. You answered your own question correctly. Leadership.
  17. That's what you pulled from everything? I see you decided not to read anything else I have said about the shortcomings, but hey whatever floats your boat, Art. Nixing the Adidas deal is way down the list for me, but it is a cherry on top that pretty much encompasses the entire situation and the overall attitude of the head coach in general. Blown out of proportion? Nobody is blowing it out of proportion - it is what it is. There is/was a departmental deal in place spanning multiple sports. You are clearly missing the prinicipal point here on this: What has Jones done to earn that type of sway? Is he going to foot the bill for the monetary difference between a Nike and Adidas deal? I'm told (from a very good source) the Adidas deal is substantially better than anything Nike is willing to do for any sport. If I'm the Athletic Director in that situation, and everyone else is on board, I tell Jones to get in line and be a team player because it's the best deal for the UND Athletic Department. But maybe I'm being too unrealistic. Hey, I like Nikes better than Adidas too, as does the majority of the population, but that's not the point.
  18. Feel free to look back at my posts over the course of the last month or 2. I haven't been shy about discussing the "little things" that matter a lot in the big scheme. That should give you a better idea of what I'm referring to.....since you're asking.
  19. You "rebuild" in year one and two - not year nine. If you are having a "rebuilding" year, it means something is inherently wrong at the foundation and needs to be rebuilt from the bottom up. Every program has a "down" year. In my opinion, "down" should be 5th or 6th place given the strength of the conference (yes, I know Weber finished 8th this year). To be tied for last in the BSC is unacceptable. Having said all that, I still maintain that the on the court coaching and wins and losses are only the start of the problem.
  20. Typical loss...
  21. Lol....a foul!?!!
  22. Fixed it for you. You're welcome.
  23. The Tribe. Everyone is placated including the NC$$. I'm surprised this isn't getting more play. Am I being too naive?... From merriam-webster: noun \ˈtrīb\ : a group of people that includes many families and relatives who have the same language, customs, and beliefs : a large family : a group of people who have the same job or interest Full Definition of TRIBE 1 a : a social group comprising numerous families, clans, or generations together with slaves, dependents, or adopted strangers b : a political division of the Roman people originally representing one of the three original tribes of ancient Rome c : phyle 2 : a group of persons having a common character, occupation, or interest 3 : a category of taxonomic classification ranking below a subfamily; also : a natural group irrespective of taxonomic rank <the cat tribe> <the rose tribe> The kicker for me is that The Black Eyed Peas seem to think we're all "One Tribe" so it has be, right?
  24. JV championships? What a ridiculous comment... Just had to try "one-up" Bison Dunce huh?
