Wait a minute. Kaip's hit was dumb, I'll give UW and Eaves that much. But... please correct me, Kaip nor Jones nor LaPoint nor Watkins started the melee. Klubertanz did. Then Street took it to the next level. I'm not sure what Turris, Watkins, and a few others did (heck, not sure what LaPoint did either), but Klubertanz and Kaip were no doubters. Street was a no doubter too. So, what I'm getting at, if Eaves is disappointed in the melee, then shouldn't he be talking to everyone who came in after Klubertanz?

Wow! We won! Impressive considering the parts of the second half I got to listen to (3rd quarter and first half of 4th quarter) featured run defense by UND that could best be complimented with the term "suck." In fact, I found it quite amusing that USD couldn't defend the pass to save their lives and UND couldn't tackle and defend the run if their lives depended upon it. Offensively, I thought the game was done pretty well. Defensively, I thought this game was a display in horrible defense. At least in the second half.

Uh, they had a version of this a few years back during game intermissions. They would ask Sioux players what a typical date with them would be like and so on.

Maybe this is mentioned elsewhere but... Perhaps the deal can be made by Grand Forks by allowing the licensure and construction of a Sioux-owned casino?

I was thinking at semester's end for a goaltender. I believe Lee is a junior this year, so he wouldn't be able to come in until the 2009-2010 year. We'd need a goaltender for the 2008-2009 year. It's an interesting situation, IMO. Now you have JPL and Walski. Next year you have Walski and Eidsness. If we recruit another goaltender, and he's a bigger name, he may have a change of heart like AG did because there's little chance at anything better than a rotation unless Eidsness turns into a bust. So perhaps a walk on is the way to go?

START WALSKI!!! Kozek sucks!!! Bench Finley!!!! Marto and Bina should never be taken out of the lineup. They are the best defensemen the team have. They are from Grand Forks and I dare ANYONE to disagree with me that anyone from Minnesota or Canada play second fiddle to these guys! In fact, I think they need to rename Captains. C-Bina A-JPL A-Marto I think we should hire a new coach that will only recruit ND and northern MN boys! Any other "gems" to add?

So with AG apparently leaving town, do you think the Sioux will go after a goaltender like Kent Patterson? Or will they get someone else?

I have a question for you: When's the last time Hakstol said, "You know what? I know he comes highly recommended and I know he played his best despite being underaged last year and I know he wants playing time... I think I'll cut him." We are in a new era of hockey where players with talent try to take the best route towards a pro career. College hockey is growing in that regard, but apparently AG thought he had a better shot in the OHL. I don't know how this hurts the Sioux provided JPL stays healthy. What it does do is hurt us next year. We're already going to have ???s at goal with AG and an unproven rookie (drafted or not). Now, we're going to have three untested goaltenders next season. I think losing AG really hurts this team.

Textbook game on how to lose. This was a TERRIBLE performance by the Sioux tonight. Undisciplined, fundamentally crappy hockey. Cycled and cycled and cycled and cycled and what? Powerplay is over? OH! That's right, we have to SHOOT THE DAMN PUCK to get a goal! We gave up a shorthanded goal... WOW... Don't know what happened, didn't see it, don't care. There is no excuse for 4 players outplaying 5. PERIOD. I hope they keep a tape of this game and watch it before Wisconsin's game next week. They can lead in with "This is what we look like when we suck." Seriously, the first pathetic game of the season.

First off, the Sioux played well tonight overall. Not too impressed with the final 10 minutes of the game. We got too relaxed. Not very crisp. I believe that we played pretty smart hockey tonight. I agree that grit is needed at times, but CC was VERY aggressive tonight and they marched to the penalty box all night long. I think our game plan has to be similar to tonight's game tommorrow as we can't allow a team with the speed and talent CC has to get the better of us in special teams work. Lovin' Kozek right now. Bina falls down and Kozek comes flyin out of nowhere to break up an odd man rush. I'm very happy that big hit by Fredheim on Kozek did no apparent damage. Finley played a pretty solid game. Great to see LaPoint get his first goal as well. JPL played alright. I don't think O'Connell is the answer for CC. Tomorrow we'll see the real future of the CC Tiger in nets. And I guarantee you goals will be harder to come by. Oshie is a monster and, quite frankly, I am lovin' VV on the top line. As for CC: Walsky looks a lot better than he looked while he was with UAA. Him and Sweatt are dangerous.

The end all is that Goon is right. I want to believe like PCM does, but I think Goon is right. The pro-nickname changers and the tribes have a golden opportunity to push the majority around and further their "woe is us" agenda. NO WAY IN HELL do they let that pass. If they were to come to any sort of agreement, even one that may push the boundaries of good taste (such as some sort of financial benefit to the tribes), their position will be weakened and they'll look weak. If they change their minds later on (as MplsBison suggests) then they'll look bad. So, with that in mind, perhaps we should start making arrangements to change the name? I like the idea of Fighting Scouts or Fighting Cavalry. I'm sure the Tribes will oppose Fighting Cavalry, but their opposition will be baseless based upon the fact that UND will be complying with the wording of the flawed, but seemingly bulletproof NCAA sanction.

I'm just wondering if the Rockies have showed up to the ballpark yet? I found it amusing that at every level of the MLB NL playoffs this year at least one team crapped the bed. In the first round, Philly and Chicago crapped the bed. At the second round, Arizona crapped their bed. In the World Series, the Rockies crapped their bed. It's getting ridiculous how much better the AL is than the NL. It's not as absurd as how much better the AFC is compared to the NFC (Seriously, Goodell needs to address that), but it is heading that direction.

I say let TJack finish the season. Childress has a stiffie for him, so let TJack sink Childress' ship. Sad when an overrated, underexperienced QB is still the best QB on the team. This team sucks. The coaching staff sucks. And a 3-13 record would help Ziggy do the right thing: Can the front office and Childress. I don't know who to hire, maybe Schottenheimer (who may end up being a bust too who knows), drafting a QB #1 pick and trading Taylor for a WR who can play opposite Rice. Cut Williamson and any other loser WR they have except for Rice. I suppose they could keep Williamson if he agrees to play the role of he #4 reciever. Install a coaching staff who knows what Peterson can do and uses him appropriately (Schottenheimer has that experience with LT). #2 pick in the draft has to be pass secondary. Don't know who will be free agents in the off season, but they need someone better than Cook at Tackle, better pass rushers, better safeties, better corners, better WRs, a better QB... I said Childress gets 3 years preseason. Well, now I say if he doesn't right the ship and get minimum 7-9 record this year, he's done.

Could be, but I understand the point SiouxForever makes. Many here called him a bust and I'm sure a few others didn't think he'd ever make the NHL. Personally, I'm loving Lee's performance.

DING! Correct! You win a cookie. It's easy to be a fan of Oshie, Duncan, Chorney, Bina, etc. They got all the hype. Forney got injured and it ended whatever hype he had built up before suiting up. He's seen limited action and was never 100% until this season. I think he did indeed do a good job. And he does indeed deserve high praise. And I don't think Oshie should be brought into the argument because he's a different story entirely.

OH! Then it has to be Grieco.

Just thought of something: What happens if: Kozek, Forney, Finley, and Radke start playing very well..... Who does everyone start griping about? Davidson? I'd love to see that. No Sioux player bashing by Sioux fans on this board. It would be amazing.
