We are in the field for national titles in every sport we offer except for football where we and the rest of the FCS division are competing for 131st place currently. I am alright with that but I can see how some people might not be.

I think the Central shootout went 8 rounds. I was worried they were going to get to the backup goalies! I think they need to adapt the rules in high school if they are going to use the shootout. 3 from each team and if not decided, then sudden death but after each team has used 5 shooters they need to allow them to re-use shooters. Kunz was injured in first period(broke a couple teeth I heard) and I think he played a little after that but wasn't around for the shootout and Davies best shootout player(Stibbe) picked up a 5 minute major with about 7 minutes left in the game so he wasn't available. Red River's first and 14th shooter scored and Davies 3rd shooter scored.

Just leaving Scheels arena after the Davies v Red River game. Good game, not much separation between them. Red River wins it in the 14th round of the shootout....yes 14th round.

I think we do a pretty good job of running our offensive sets and creating 1 on 1 mismatches and a team needs to play the style that best suits them and we don't rebound well enough to be able to push the ball up the court so I would like to see this style of play continue.

I wasn't there. I heard he had 4 penalties so they weren't even playing him. There was some kind of play that needed a referee/captains conference so he went over and got the information to relay to the bench and as he was skating back to the bench a penalty was called?

but #metoo There is definitely a problem with people in power(mostly men) being complete dirtbags.......but with everyone wanting to be seen as a victim instead of accepting any responsibility for their own shortcomings or blaming someone else for their failures we are quickly approaching the point where these claims will become meaningless and actual victims will suffer due to the lack of credibility and wanting to group a large range of actions as the same offense. There is a big difference in a guy using his position of power and control of someone's employment to make sexual advances vs. making an awkward pass or simply asking someone out. Pretty soon accusing someone of "sexual harassment" will have as little meaning as calling someone a "bully" or a "racist" which are two words whose meaning sadly has rapidly dwindled to the point when I hear someone called a bully or racist these days I pause and think maybe a 5-10% chance a being factual.

I would agree. a quick number crunch, not counting this year shows them as winning 56% of their games over the last 10 years and making the NCAA tournament 5 times...but this season will be their 5th tournament appearance in 6 years.

Davies and Central on Friday night. Went to the Davies/North game last night. Davies won 6-1. North goalie held them in it for a period(0-0 after 1) but once Davies scored it opened the gates a little bit. The 2nd and 3rd goals were both shorties with one of them being a 3 on 5 goal. I think the Davies/Central game will be close.

Big Ten rep getting beat 31-0 and 38-0 and being totally overmatched the last 2 years doesn't help their cause much either.

Not to mention Ohio State while they proved they were the best of the 4 teams in the playoffs a couple years back and ended up winning the national title, they actually made a case for 8 teams being in as they probably shouldn't have even been in the playoff that year over TCU or Baylor.

Went to Mayville to play football but will probably play Hockey at UMary is my guess.
