You have to admit that is one of the coolest things to ever happen in high school hockey. As for Coach Burckhard having a big long talk with him about it, the coach doesn't really even care about it at all. He laughed about the whole thing and wants to frame the puck. Sounds like the coach might also be in dire need of a well placed Gordie Howe elbow.

So with the new hard line approach and not caring what NCAA says, I hope the Gopher football team is awarded a bowl game down the road against Florida State. the Big 10 and and goofer alum are going to be pissed off when they have to turn the game down.

Nothing makes U of M athletics supporters prouder than having an emasculated Athletic Director like Joel Maturi to showcase to everyone how soft you are. I know a lot of gopher fans wanted to string Maturi up by his nuts over the Glenn Mason deal, well it seems like they will have to find something else to do to Mr. Maturi as they will not find any to string him up with. Maybe there is hope? Counting the exhibition games UND is 8-3-1 against teams that roll their lines and try and out talent their opponent and play wide open up and down hockey and UND is 1-7 against teams that like to counterpunch and clutch and grab and wait for mistakes to cash in(which is why our mistakes are magnified so greatly). Just speculation on my part, but throw me a bone here!!! If this holds true, the Sioux could have some success against teams like Minnesota, SCSU(a recent convert to this type of game), Mankato, CC, and UMD and will probably struggle against UAA, Bucky, Tech, and may struggle out East?

Sid has forgot more about sports then you will ever know....problem is he has forgot everyting. did you know Sid is a close personal friend of Rob Bollinger, you remember him don't you? He used to be the offensive coordinator at North Dakota State University.

The demise of the Bison could probably be traced to the scholarship reductions as the veer is a very "expensive" offense to run as far as how your scholarship money gets divided.

UND blew out Moorhead State tonite 84-61, but don't let the score fool you.... it wasn't that close. MSU-Moorhead is pretty good, this is a big win for the sioux!!

Toews makes things look easy because he is so smooth and strong with the puck. Oshie is just a whirling dervish out there!! How many times have you seen other players think they have him lined up and he just adjusts and ends up delivering the hit?? I liken it to a guy seeing a 4 foot plastic barrel and thinking they can easily take it out and then realizing(too late) that 3 1/2 feet is full of sand.

*My shot at coach!!!! when at full health Toews Oshie Duncan ---gonna have to ride this line, gonna be tough on the road though as teams will put their "grab and tackle" line against them Watkins Zajac Fabian ---hopefully get some offense out of them, but this line needs to not be on the ice when the other team scores Porter Kozek Miller ---same as above, could be a good energy line, Kozek needs to start playing sound hockey again like he did down the stretch last season(he is a frustrated goal scorer and is forcing too much right now and we end up in some bad situations) Martens Kaip Vandevelde(Bishop, Forney) --- or whoever steps up Genoway Jones ---if Lee and Finley are not going to be a physical prescence, might as well have Genoway back there, he is more skilled and hits as much as either of them Bina Chorney --Chorney started year slow, but seems to be playing better now Radke Lee or Finley --maybe bench both Lee and Finley a game and put Foyt out there and then see which one of them wants to pick up there game??? *there. now people can pick me apart and let Hakstol figure out how to get the most out of this team, I think his track record is enough for me to trust him.

It's all timing. Blais and Gallant did not see eye to eye and Gallant was given full reign this year without Dean in his shadow and he did not get it done. Hiring the associate is the least disruptive for the team at this point. If he succeeds he could keep the job, if not look for Blais to take over.
