One part of the appeal was about providing access to the athletes that the NCAA is supposedly representing. How does this sound....UND football team goes undefeated this year and is ranked number 1 in the country, has a viable facility to host a playoff football game and the NCAA sends them on the road. UND practices all week and then a few days before the game files and gets an injunction against the NCAA and in effect stops the playoffs. Far fetched? Maybe, but does the NCAA really want to go dowwn that road with their weak and poorly thought out mandate?

The University of North Dakota announces that it will change their name and will no longer be known as the Fighting Sioux. Incredibly in an apparently related event, ... Suicide, homelessness, alcohol abuse, poverty, poor education, poor healthcare, and unemployment on Indian reservations throughout America miraculously disappear! The leaders of the protest groups are vindicated for ignoring these issues and instead tackling the Logo issue. The non native-american members of the protest groups will now decide where to focus their energies next, they are considering a few options such as helping PETA stop people from eating meat and also changing the nicknames of all colleges with names referring to animals(since the animals do not have their own voice) or helping nambla become more mainstream.

anyone else think it was funny and disingenuos of Amy ruley to tick off all the top notch D1! teams that NDSU has coming in next year? Minnesota--they are good and a legit program Arkansas State, San Jose State, Idaho State, and Wisconsin-Milwaukee are all teams who would be mediocre teams in D2, none of them would finish in the top 3 in the current NCC

John Hill is putting himself in a perfect position with his lateral move from head coach at UAA to being assistant coach at Minnesota. when Lucia makes a lateral move from head coach at Minnesota to become the assistant equipment manager at UND, John Hill will likely have the inside track to coach the gophers.

I was pulling for bollinger to get this job....but I think that Buning is a very qualified candidate. Hopefully he is smarter than and less arrogant than Gene Taylor.

UND has had a few walk-ons who have contributed over the years. If Jesse is good enough to make the team in the fall that will only nake UND better!, because he will have to be very talented in order to do so.

I voted for this. The proponents were not really clear on what exactly it was supposed to be, but what is a .5 % sales tax? I can't remeber the last time I bought something and said to myself, that fu$%ing Fargodome sales tax just cost me 30 cents> anything that Linda coates comes out against would probably be good for Fargo, so that is what swung my vote. The proponents of the arena did a very poor job of postitioning this proposal...pure and simple

Very good point. UND was playing their best hockey at the end of the year. Truth be told, if we had played DU 10 times this year, DU would probably would have won 7 or 8...................if the same game played out that was played in the National Title game 10 times, UND wins that game 9 times. That's hockey.

How bout if I paraphrase Coach Hakstol paraphrasing Rory McMahon in response to the Gopher players and coaches downplaying their 3rd place loss to UND in the Finzl 5 "I am not sure about Minnesota, but every time I put on the Sioux jersey, it means something!"
