When I was in school. A good Friday was getting to the Spud when the doors opened, playing sink the sub all day, then either a. hit the liquor store for a few travelers and on to the Sioux hockey game that night or if the Sioux were out of town b. on to the Bridge for overlapping buck pitchers(Spud was 11-6 and the Bridge was 4-7) then over to the antique for 2-4-1's until 8....then whatever happened after that was a bonus!! also fond of Griggs(lived upstairs for awhile), can't leave out Bonzers??(a couple summer episodes of going to Bonzers for lunch, ending up having supper there and then all of sudden it's closing time?) Miss the Westward Ho and all it had to offer and I also bartended at the Peanut Bar on the East side at the old regency inn( tough going to school when your boss was OK with you comping a room if you had too much to drink while working). Of course I lived in a house for a couple years where we had all campus parties every 3 weeks or so where it was not unusual to go through 20-25 barrels in a night. Hard to believe how much times have changed??? I ain't that old???

There are times when I think Lucia is a pompous arrogant a$$. Tonight wasn't one of them, sure he was upset and disappointed but I thought he gave UND proper respect(obviously if these teams played 10 times, you would probably have 6 great games like the last 2 and 2 like at the John in our favor and we would probably be on the short end of a couple like that as well) unlike a certain other coach(who did the same $hitr last year) and the questions from a couple members of the press were ridiculous...asking them if they quit??? after Barriball's goal, asking a player and then the coach if guys were leaving early.....what did they think Goligoski was going to say "Yeah, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I am going pro" I am not or ever will be a Gopher fan, but this Gopher team has earned my respect as a fan of hockey more than any other that they have had in the last 10-12 years(not a lot of cake eaters on this squad)

The ref was from Hockey East and I only really saw one questionable call on Michigan(the interference call that gave us our first 5 on 3 was questionable?) Johnson got away with at least 4 or 5 blatant elbowing penalties so they certainly didn't make any adjustments in their style of play...it looked like they thought they could intimidate the Sioux? We got away with a few that I saw as well, I remember Chorney at least once pulling a guy down and I think Radke had a couple questionable tie ups as well, but overall as far as the calls that were made he was pretty consistent. No idea what went on with Hensikc's misconduct but I seem to remember that there was some sort of incident with that ref and a player in a hockey east league game earlier this year??

I heard the Stafford interview and it was before Stafford had established himself(when he stood up for teammate in the brawl game) and had been on the yo-yo all season. He said that if you are not going to be in the NHL he thought a player could develop just as much at UND as they could in the AHL.

Not to look to far ahead, but if UND can get through the regional they would have a likely quarterfinal matchup with number 1 ranked and undefeated Florida Gulf Coast University. FGCU has Jen Conely from Warren, MN(and 2 years at Lake Region) on their roster. FGCU has a first round matchup with a team they beat by 53 this season and the 3 seed is a team they beat by 44. They will probably have a regional tilt with Delta State to get to Kearney. On another note, the NCAA must have an issue with the FGCU men's squad, they were ranked number 6 in the region(21-3 region record, 26-6 overall with 3 losses to D1 teams including a close loss to Butler a couple weeks ago and they just won the D2 independent tourney) as they were left out of the South regional? They got leaped by 2 teams that they beat this year. FGCU is going Division 1 as well(no football)
