Been to a couple games with my brother Florida Sioux in Ft. Myers and the ice seemed fine. They do keep it pretty cool in the arena. It is colder in the arena than the Ralph is.

The odds are the same as they would have been if they had beat the bunnies. Zero. When was the last time that NDSU's football season lasted longer than UND's?

The problem is when you quote Nick Coleman as a credible source, you lose all credibility yourself. I have no questions for Nick Coleman, Next witness!

The greatest video on MTV of all time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ap0p7mhu4w0 Their record label demanded that they do a video, so they did one! These guys were the epitomy of rock and roll. Saw them a few times live! Once at the Old Regency Inn in EGF! Drunken chaos and rumor has it they left a hotel room or 2 in shambles!

Wow. My least favorite band of all time

Not sure? They look more like Chachi's to me?

Where does the Chippewa tribe and the Turtle Mountain reservation come down on the issue? Change our name to The Chippewas, Indians, or Tribe...alter the logo a little bit and...? Just throwin it our there, it'll never happen.

Lennon turn into Childress? We are in trouble! Does that mean we can expect 2 yard out passes on 3rd and 8. If Chappell was 100% healthy, he would only get 9 or 10 touches under the secret squirrel. Pound Battle at them 20-25 times and find a way to get Weston 15- 20 touches(runs and catches) and we will be fine.

Sweet Sioux Tomahawk: The trophy awarded to the winner of Illinois and Northwestern's annual football game originally was not a tomahawk, it was an actual wooden Indian named "Sweet Sioux." The original Sweet Sioux trophy was introduced in 1945 after the staff members of the two schools student newspapers came up with the idea for it. But in September, 1946, "Sweet Sioux" was stolen at a showcase at Northwestern. In 1947, a Tomahawk Trophy was brought in to replace the wooden Indian and has been used ever since. The original "Sweet Sioux" trophy was created in 1948, but was retired due to its size. Illinois last claimed the tomahawk when they beat the Wildcats 31-24 in Evanston on Nov. 23, 2002. Illinois currently holds a 31-26-2 edge over the Wildcats in games played for the Sweet Sioux Tomahawk.

The Reagan appearance at UND was fantastic. A couple guys on their advance team happened to be alum of the same fraternity as ours and stopped by the house. We went to the Republican office in grand Forks and made all the signs for the event and in turn we got hooked up with sweet passes for the event which put us as close to the stage as possible without paying the big bucks!!

I am about done with this as well. UND honored the great Sioux people of the past and did so with honor and respect. While there are many great Sioux people today, the leadership on the reservations does them a great disservice and are probably not worthy of being honored by UND at this point. It is the tribal leaders of today who choose to dishonor the Great Sioux warriors and leaders AND ELDERS of the past and that will be their legacy.(along with the many ongoing problems on the reservations today). However, before the towel is thrown in, I would like to see the enrolled tribal members and anyone else of Sioux descent on the reservations and around the state polled(this can be paid for by UND or alumni(I would contribute). This vote does not have to be binding, but at the very least the tribal leaders will then be exposed as not being in touch with the people that they are supposed to represent.(I think the vote would be upwards of 75% in favor or at the very least not thinking it is an issue). I do not favor abolishing any Native American programs at UND, but no more reverse discrimination should be allowed for slots in engineering, nursing, medical programs etc. All students will have to meet minimum requirements(GPA, ACT scores, etc.) to be able to attend UND and especially when competing against other students for desired posts, internships, etc., the positions will be awarded based on merits. And finally, I am not in favor of having some cheesy nickname naming contest or coming up with a name to replace The Fighting Sioux at this time, I would rather be known simply as THE University of North Dakota for now and if something comes up over the course of time that makes sense to UND, the area, and the people of North Dakota then address it at that time, lets not force the issue, remember we are dealing with replacing the greatest sports team name and logo in all of college sports, lets not be hasty.. I don't mind using the Force of the North as a marketing slogan and it actually sounds pretty good as in here comes The Force of the North, THE University of North Dakota!! Long live UND! Long live The Fighting Sioux!! On another note, even with the name gone, does anyone think they will be a Hockey or Football game 10 years from now and not hear LETS GO SIOUX, LETS GO SIOUX?

The Lot I park in is usually full or close to it. The Lot on the North side of the Ralph.

Hopefully Radke keeps his head up, keeps working hard, earns back the coaches trust and I think he could challenge Miller and Maartens for a spot on occasion.

Maybe Eaves should look to see if the Badger can skate a regular shift. I mean he must be a tough guy to be able to perform the rest of the night with what sounds like must have been a broken leg or at the very least a deep bruise. That type of grit and determination is something that maybe the rest of the pansies from Wisconsin could feed off. Hell maybe they should slap the C on Bucky's chest.
-
Good thing the refs and linesmen where nearby when Eaves starting flapping his gums. This would have been a mismatch to end all mismatches Based on College stats The Combatants Eaves 68 pim in 160 games Osiecki 156 pim in 108 games Patrick 26 pim in 34 games vs. Hakstol 191 pim in 107 games Eades 228 pim in 144 games Jackson 249 pim in 150 games At least it would have been quick, but probably not painless.
-
Jeopardy style What player after getting his chicklets rattled by NMU's(and Grafton's and Bismarck's own) Chris Kleven said as refs were herding them to the box said "I'm gonna kill you Kleven, don't care where, could be a Park River street dance or wherever, I'm gonna kill you!"
-
I was joking(kind of) and taking a shot at the rodents. If we really want the best competition we should set our sites on getting games with Big 12 teams rather than the musty big 10.
-
Thats' good news? Wisconsin is better than Minnesota in damn near every sport we would play them in.
-
Not exactly? But if I had to venture a guess I would guess that Joel likes a cold Zima now and again.
-
None of the above. Drop the name if we must, but do not replace it......at least for awhile.
-
But they are wildly inconsistent as they have basketball games this month against the chippewas and seminoles and the fighting sioux swim team has a meet at the U of m in March. The biggest problem they have is that they have an athletic director who has no stones
