  1. Haven't you been to a game at Mariucci? They don't know, they need everything explained to them in very simple terms.
  2. Halos? The Sioux don't wear no stinking halos!
  3. Huskies up 2-0 late in the 2nd in Anchorage
  4. That don't matter to Gwoz. His team draws penalties. other teams dive
  5. got it again. another umd power play. gwoz is probably checking the traction on his shoes again
  6. sweet! was going to purchase it on b2 but they are having problems
  7. Notre Dame looks good. 1-0 and they have had the puck for the first 8 minutes almost exclusively
  8. I have attended the Sioux and St. Cloud series for about the last 4 or 5 years and have never had a ticket until I walked up to the arena at gametime. If you don't mind standing room tix you will be fine and many times I have found people right by the ticket counter all but giving tickets away.
  9. 2 positives from the game tonight. We didn't lose. Shep has an instructional video for his officials.
  10. Correct. Assistant coach Moody even said as much at the last Sioux Boosters meeting in Fargo. He said we would be fooolish not to look at the blueprint of how NDSU has been able to be successful in their transition. We are not going to be getting too many NBA type players as a D 1 program which is why we are not implementing a dribble drive athletic based offense but rather the Princeton type offense and while it's implementation may not fit the players that are currently in our program, you have to look at the big picture and I think I will give coach Jones and his staff the opportunity to build the program and recruit the pieces for this system. Give them a little time.
  11. I think when you play at UAA, those games do not count against the total amount of games you can schedule in the regular season?
  12. I was at the Sioux boosters when this came up and Dane was referring to St. Cloud. Someone asked him if St. Clopud was out recruiting us in Section 8 and he said "yeah, maybe a little", but UND isn't going to offer a 16 year old too often and especially not a 16 year old goalie. I have heard that all things equal Lee would have rather went to UND, but took the offer from St. Cloud because they offered probably 2 years before UND would have(and certainly no guarantee)
  13. Woog does know hockey and is a great guy to talk to. I watched the replay of Saturday's game and Woog knew the game and what was up right when they lined up for the face off when he said and I quote exactly "Lucia HAS to go here" and then had to backtrack and join "the rug" and spin it for the FSN Gopher faithful when Little Lucia decided to skate away and as person who does know hockey I'm sure he was probably a little disappointed in his lack of testosterone.
  14. Don Adam is a perfect example of why it doesn't matter if WCHA officials open their mouths or not. They aren"t held accountable anyway. Although Don Adam was kept from doing UND games for a little while, he is back doing them again despite his babbling at Sugar's something to the effect of "I hate the Sioux and Matt Greene is a hack" and how he didn't mind sticking it to the Sioux whenever he gets the chance. Guess he doesn't feel that way anymore?
  15. Minnesota fans and media types have been babbling about 23 year old Canadians for years so they have repeated it so much they probably think it's true. One thing that I know is true is that you would have to look through alot of rosters to find any players who played in the WCHA that were older than 2 former Gophers. Dan Woog was 25 as a senior for the Gophers and Goalie Steve Debus was also 25 and had he come back for his 4th season would have been 26. Stu Bickel also happened to be a 21 year old freshman for the Golden Angels on Ice last season. One thing I think Lou nanne did get right was his statement "what alot of people tend to forget is physicality is also a talent and skill, but it's not a skill the gophers possess and UND excels at it."
  16. Whenever I see Hill interviewed I always think of this guy. Not sure why? Anyone else?
  17. I will back up your post and say that Doug Woog is a great guy, always willing to chat with fans from all teams and have a bump with them. Until last night, Tony Lucia was one of the Gophers that I respected and appreciated the fact that he played to game hard and got more out of his limited talent through hard work, but his actions last night were at best cowardly. John Hill is a joke. Nuff said. I think Joel Maturi should get a copy of Ross Bernstein's "The Code" and make it required reading for the players and coaching staff at the U of M-tc and maybe even have them tested on it's contents before they take the ice again.
  18. There is no league mandate to not schedule UND, the commissioner may suggest that they shouldn't be scheduled, but as you say it would take a league vote to institute a policy on not playing schools with nickname issues.
  19. If he is lying about it, that just goes to his character, and Douple is covering for his arrogance. or If he isn't lying about it and it is the Summit Conferences official policy(concerning the nickname) then it should be investigated as to whether Gene Taylor and/or President Chapman did one of the following a. fully supported UND's efforts to gain conference affiliation b. recused themselves from any and all discussion of the matter c. actively worked to block UND's entrance to the Summit If the answer is C, then the state of North Dakota should be working on a severance package for either or both of them.
  20. Does the open records law apply in this case? If so then how bout a reporter or 2 get the transcripts of any and all emails and minutes from any meetings held as "the Summit League" and see when and where and which league members said what in regards to UND joining the Summit and also with regard to scheduling The Sioux in athletic contests. If this is done, I think Chapman and Taylor may have some explaining to do to their employer...the problem is they seem to think that they are self-employed and don't answer to the NDBOE and the university system and only go to them with their handout.
