  1. Thanks!!!!!! I'll switch Friday to Rocco
  2. Friday: Tambo Saturday: Parksy
  3. I think it'd have to be in mop up fashion against the Thunderbirds, if we get to that point. This is a recruiting tool. Not like the exhibitions against the U.S. Under-18 team... Sure we'll be guarded against getting a player hurt or playing a top-line too much, but I have a feeling this is a couple of games that Hak and Co. really want to win.
  4. “The University of North Dakota is to (NCAA) hockey, what Duke is to basketball and what Alabama is to football,” says Simon Fraser hockey coach Mark Coletta, whose university-based club program will play the role of the little engine that could Friday and Saturday (Jan. 3-4), when it hosts the 2014 Great Northwest Showcase, a four-team holiday tournament which will include not only the UBC Thunderbirds, but the Fighting Sioux and the Princeton Tigers. Fighting Sioux Awesome words... This guys knows his hockey! Unfortunately said we only had 5 NHL draft picks on our roster.... I commented and let him know that we have 15... don't worry, guys
  5. Firstrowsports.eu Lots of popups, but also plenty of links to the games. I've watched games here all week!
  6. Gutty and gritty performance from our guys tonight. 3-2 win Rocco, Pattyn, Gaarder.
  7. Friday -- Stetcher Saturday -- Tambellini
  8. You wouldn't beat us in basketball this year... football, yes... basketball, no.
  9. I'll be very surprised if it's not Zane.
  10. You poor soul.... I'll have a beer for you Oxbow while I watch the game I've got UND with the 4-2 win.... Rocco, Parks, Gaarder and Johnson with the ENG
  11. 5-2 UND Rocco (2), Gaarder, Mattson, MarkMac
  12. It doesn't work like that. The BTHC didn't buy space on ESPN, they bought space with Comcast or Xfinity or Charter, etc..... those companies put the advertising on channels that fit the client's demographic. So, them placing the ad on ESPN makes sense. I've seen that ad on the Big 10 Network and FSN, as well.
  13. Gonna have to agree to disagree with ya, Mariucci.... Green and black is pure sexiness
  14. Not much room for creativity when we don't really have a logo. Take away the M, and what do you have? Ugly colors
  15. Completely agree. It's not like we don't have those guys in the system, either. I think this team will still bring a lot of grit with guys like Gaarder, Rocco, Pattyn, etc. Not too huge bangers, but still hard-nosed players with speed. Being big is never why we were feared, we were feared and still will be because we are physical. I'm excited!
  16. Split in Miami, split in Boston, split with St. Clown, sweep Omaha.... 5 wins...
  17. A three seed in the regionals. I'm fine with that.
  18. To be fair, this is a step in the road for high end players. Their ultimate goal is to make the NHL. But you better believe that these guys come in here wanting to win a national championship. They know they when they come to UND, they are one (maybe two) steps from living out their dreams of playing in the show. I don't think for a minute that any of these kids that come into our program don't think about winning a national title, but they want to play in the NHL and know we breed those players.
  19. Little Bangkok... 'Nuff said.
  20. Right... he can quietly bring the Cup to Grand Forks
  21. Didn't matter. Who cares? Moving on
  22. The Broadmore would definitely be a nice treat, but I bet the team would like to win the Broadmoor a little more
  23. As much as DU has become a bitter rival, UM is a bigger one. Plus, we are behind them in the standings. DU sweep would be wonderful and St. Clown getting swept would put us in first place. Man that'd be sweet . Let's be more realistic though. Hopefully DU can get a split, same with Tech vs. St. Cloud... that'd put us in 2nd place with the sweep we are GONNA GET just down one point for the MacNaughton Cup with one weekend to go. I'd definitely take that.
  24. I don't think Clarke did enough to stay in the lineup tonight. I think we see Zane. Sure Zane's third goal was a big time softie, but that being said, so was Clarke's for the 5th goal. That rebound HAS TO BE controled. Zane is positionally better than Clarke and with a team as speedy and offensively strong as DU, positioning is huge. Before giving up a couple big goals, Zane was solid on his spots and made a couple really big saves because of his angles. I think Zane comes back in and gets the job done. I may be a bit biased, however... I used to coach the kid in little league baseball We played with a good hop last night for most parts of the game (couple of lulls cost us the game, unfortunately) and that team knows they should have gotten two points Friday. I think we see a motivated team that goes out there and gets two points tonight.
