  1. Completely agree with the tired. No excuses, really.... again, no excuses... but did playing a gritty Wisconsin team, a huge rival on less than a 24 hour turn around, effect UND? You could physically see the boys battling, that's why our defense was clearing pucks, etc., but their legs clearly weren't there. Then, Ferris finally started to get tired (middle of 1st OT) and then it evened up. When both Ferris and UND were fully gassed, our skill took over. This to me shows we were the better team. Ultimately, it's all window dressing. I seriously don't care how they won. We've lost SO MANY "shoulda won" games over the last handful of years in the tourney, it's nice to be on the other side of one.
  2. I'll take a little bit of these, because I underestimated Ferris a bit. Honestly though, I STILL don't think the Bulldogs are that great of a team. Plug, plug, plug, win a battle, get denied in the slot, plug, plug, plug..... I just don't think they are that talented. I never really trashed them, I just said I thought we were the better team. Regardless if we got "outplayed", which yes, we did for big stretches, I still would take this UND squad over that FSU team 10-out-of-10 games. To suggest that a fan (myself) needs to study more because they think a team like Ferris State isn't that good, is shortsighted. I watch LOTS of college hockey. I have my opinion on who's good and who's not. Ferris plays a great, disciplined game. They are good. But, they are not better than UND, IMO. That's all I said before, as well. I said the Sioux were better.
  3. Agreed on that last point. Not saying it will be a cakewalk whatsoever and I'm not really degrading Ferris. I'm just saying I think we are the better team. They are here for a reason, yes, but I believe that we are the better team and should win tomorrow.... well... tonight. I also don't think we got the better of the bounces other than the GWG. Clearly, that was the biggest one, but both of Bucky's goals were on bad bounces. We outplayed Wisconsin for the majority of that game. The first ENG was a good bounce for us, too, I guess. But we also saw a lot of bad bounces go against us and still managed to keep our cool and skate to Saturday. I seriously hate playoff hockey. This one-and-done stuff is just plain gut wrenching.
  4. I'm sorry, but 2012 has nothing to do with this season. They feasted on a weak WCHA this season. Like I said before, good team, but I have no problem saying that we should win this game.
  5. I'm not gonna dog on them (see what I did there? ), but look at their schedule. 29 wins is a big number, but good lord they play some bad, bad teams. I wasn't overly impressed with them. Remind me of Wisconsin a lot, but with a lot less talent. Motte is good, but not great. First goal will be huge (duh). Giving this team a shot early on will only fuel their fire. We should win this game and I don't feel wrong saying that.
  6. *SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT* DDC is back with his picks on the NCAA tourney. Follow him on twitter for more blogs! @stoneysioux http://daddydumpandchase.blogspot.com/2014/03/wholl-be-king-of-queen-city-ncaa-hockey.html

  8. UND vs. Mass-Lowell. I just can't not pick us. I'm such a homer

  10. So the guy likes drinking and boobs and you don't. So be it. I'm sure he watched some hockey and met some hockey fans, too. He just so happened to be wasted and smelling like cocoa butter and covered in glitter when he was watching ... To each, his own.
  11. We're in!!!! Love this. Not afraid of anyone in this tournament. Everyone has holes. At this point, we are playing with house money. Sioux are going to be an energized bunch. Schlossman tweeted that Simmer watched the entire Wisconsin game with his gear on. Knew it could be the last time he ever wore the Green and White. They know that they really could have not been playing next weekend and have nothing to lose. I expect a loose and pumped up Sioux team next weekend. Whomever it may be... Wisco, Union... Whomever... Bring it on. We're in and we're dangerous.
  12. DDC's take on this weekend! http://bit.ly/1giKQ3a
  13. Daddy Dump and Chase's take on this weekend! http://bit.ly/1giKQ3a
  14. OT?? Ughhhh I can't stomach OT. I fricken hate sports. I'm having an anxiety attack right now thinking of OT, in the playoffs, for a HUGE stake in PWR. Ugh. Lol.
  15. Me too!
  16. Just a commentary on a 3 (or 2) game winning streak versus a season-long workload, I guess. I think regular season titles should have banners more so than conference tourney ones, for sure.
  17. Little nervous about how aggressive we play on the blue line in terms of pinching, but it will also open up more space on our PP that's clicking right now. If our freshie D men keep playing like smart, play-making upperclassmen, we could do some damage on the big ice this weekend!
  18. Been absolutely crazy how fast she has grown. The party is on Sunday. I fully expect to be celebrating a sweep, a Penrose and a birthday on that day
  19. Damn it... I looked at my notes again right now... I have a sideways W that looks like a L... efffff!! 6-3-1 is correct That being said, yes. I still think we sweep. And my daughter tears her cake a new one
  20. Unfortunately, that's not my daughter's cake. That cake was from a wedding I went to this past summer. Just thought it was a fitting image for my post
  21. Thanks! I'm all for constructive criticism, as well!
  22. Shameless plug for my blog Daddy Dump and Chase takes a look at UND's men's hockey series vs. SCSU and previews his daughter's first birthday. ENJOY! http://daddydumpandchase.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-birthday-and-berth.html
  23. If that's kind of writing is your cup of tea, I guess, to each his own. Too many exaggerations for this guy. This sentence.... just horrible lol. LaDue one-timed Rocco Grimaldi’s cross-ice pass to end a 7-minute, 20-second span of the period that could have been declared a natural disaster. Although, I must say I enjoy the content of that sentence
  24. Oof the DNT needs Pates back… http://www.duluthnew...icle/id/292207/ My favorite gems from the new guy’s article… - Unleashed a blitzkrieg of shots - One of the most bizarre periods of the season - Likely shell-shocked from constant bombardment - The nickname-less school - Set the stage for a shockingly disturbing second period - LaDue flicked in a loose puck with a backhand, Michael Parks beat McNeely to the short side after receiving a brilliant pass off the sideboards from Jordan Schmaltz, Simpson skated up into the zone and had an unobstructed shot at the net and LaDue one-timed Rocco Grimaldi’s cross-ice pass to end a 7-minute, 20-second span of the period that could have been declared a natural disaster.
  25. Why would you change a system mid game when that system was clearly working? They were absolutely DOMINATING that game, but just couldn't bury one. Changing a system that's delivering Grade A chance after Grade A chance, makes no sense.
