  1. I think he was kidding, Goon. Bad luck to be superstitious... get it? lol
  2. Chose UMD over UND and Minny because of the facilities? Yeah, ok lol. Good luck, kid. We'll see ya in the NCHC.
  3. The only one of these that's a rivalry, realistically, is Iowa vs. ISU and the Bison just beat the 0-2 Cyclones. They do gameday on college campuses, so UT/UCLA is out. Not to mention Texas got DESTROYED yesterday. Illinois vs. Washington? Really? Lol. I'm an Irish fan, but Irish vs. Purdue is hardly a rivalry. Plus they'll be there for Nortre Dame vs. Stanford or vs. FSU a couple weeks later. As much as it nauseates me, going back to Fargo is good timing.
  4. That's bad.
  5. I don't have a theory, I guess. I just think we play quality opponents every night and it's tough to sweep. From my observation, working downtown Grand Forks, The Pony Express group of guys partied harder than most and they had no trouble getting sweeps. I just don't think a lot of our players are getting wasted the night before a game. I just don't. Do some of them drink on Friday night after game one of a series? I'm sure there are some. Do I think it's a correlation to poor play on Saturday night? I don't.
  6. I guess, after reading the question again, I think the answer is an unequivical no. These matters don't ever seem to slow the team down, whatsoever.
  7. I bartended in Grand Forks for over four years downtown at a bar that was frequented by many of the boys during my time there. Friday, there were rarely any of them out downtown. Saturday was the night they came out if they were playing that weekend. Does this mean they don't drink on Friday? Maybe not. But they definitely we're more prevalant on Saturday. I just hate this topic, because, yes, these kids are giving the team and the city a black eye, but should they be? Maybe it's time that we as a community come down off our high horses and stop condemning these kids for making mistakes that many other 18-22 year old kids make. Again, yes, I get it. They aren't "every other" kid at UND. ONLY because we make them more than they are. They are kids. Playing a game. IMO... move on.
  8. Ugh.... it still pains me to know that Denver won the first Cup....
  9. Or it could be "D-corps"... Since, you know, it's the right way to say it
  10. DDC is back... *Sigh*.... http://daddydumpandchase.blogspot.com/
  11. Where'd you see/hear that?
  12. He won't, unfortunately, but it'd be freakin sweet. All the writers and people in the know out east expect him to be with the Rangers next season. Been scoring all year in the A and he's developing defensively like they want him to
  13. What about Danny Kristo??? He's on the NYR taxi squad right now!
  14. Please tell me you don't think that happened on purpose. I'd assume you're trying to rile me up. McDonaugh can, too. Rangers do not have a liability on the blueline.
  15. Again, tell me what about their offense, defense, special teams, coaching an intangibles that makes them better? - Offense... I'll buy it. The Rangers are a defensive team first. Butttt... lots of talent and SPEED for the Rangers. I think they have an edge on speed, for sure. - Defense ... No. Rangers D corps is one of the best in the league and is anchored by a Top 3 goalie. - Special teams ... debatable. Rangers PK has been great all year. Top 3 in the league. Kept vaunted PPs of Pitt and MTL at bay. PP, very, very hit or miss. Flat out bad at times. But when they are cooking, they are lethal. No. 10 in the league on PP this year. - Coaching ... Why??? Because Sutter has a Cup? AV has been to a final. Any coincidence the Rangers make the SCF in his first year? Might have something to do with it. He's been playing this team like a fiddle in the playoffs. Short rest, quick shifts, moving players to the right spots. AV has been great. - Intangibles... You're kidding... MSL and Richards have been there before. They are playing with more passion than anyone in the playoffs right now and have completely rallied around MSL and Dominic Moore for their horrible stories. And they have a goalie in Lundqvist that has seen it all. Sure, the Kings have players that have been there before, but that alone doesn't give them the edge in intangibles, IMO. Again... tell me WHY the Kings are better other than what you think. Because, I think it's clear, to me at least, that you just haven't seen them play enough. This series goes a MINIMUM of 6. I'm coming off as a big-time fanboy, I get it, but I've heard that the Kings and Hawks are so much better than the Rangers since the Rangers beat the Habs. I just want someone to tell me why they are better. I have yet to see anything to suggest that the Kings will roll this series. It'll be close, I agree, but the Rangers are really good.
  16. Leddy and Rozsival? Leddy has been a pylon all year and Rozsival is a Ranger throw away. Doing my best to not dawg them fully, but I don't think they are any better than Moore and Klein. ESPECIALLY the way Klein has been this postseason.
  17. Yes, I ABSOLUTELY do think they stack up to Chicago or any one else for that matter. The names I just mentioned are all solid D men. Have you gotten a chance to see much of the Rangers this year? They are VERY good defensively.
  18. I wholeheartedly disagree with the D comment. McDonaugh-Girardi, Stall-Stralman is a heckuva top two pairing. Throw Klein and J. Moore in there... that's a good D corp.
  19. Everyone seems to give the Rangers no chance and I just don't get it. Can someone, siouxweet maybe?, tell me why they have no shot. I'd really like to know! I'm not being facetious. I wanna know why people think LA will dominate.
  20. I just don't get why people think that the Rangers don't have a shot! I get it. The west is better. But to say the Rangers don't have a legit shot at winning is dumb to me.
  21. Don't forget that clearing attempt that went out of play and should have given the Rangers a 5x3 to bury the Habs. Just sayin
  22. RANGERS BABY! I'm so pumped. Dominating performance last night by the Blueshirts. That third period, although a one-goal game, was all NYR from puck drop. Bring it on, west!
  23. Might be my first, vivid sports memory. I was 6. I still get chills when I hear Howie Rose's call of Matteau! Matteau! Matteau! Bourque's comment about Lundqvist is laughable. Tokarski has been good, no doubt, but I think Henrik shows the world why he's the best in the world tonight.
  24. Alright, so who wins tonight? Does King Henrik reign again and get the Blue Shirts back in the Final for the first time in 20 years, or are we going back to Montreal for Game 7? #LGR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
