If our 2014-2015 team could win the Fargo regional, this team absolutely can. I'd probably argue this team has a higher ceiling but that '14-15 team was playing better than the sum of its parts come tournament time...if that makes sense. Also, the crowd absolutely pushed them over the top, one of the coolest atmospheres I've ever been a part of.

Too many facts for this thread Starman, move along But seriously, this is helpful. Now I remember if there are 5 NCHC teams in the tourney that the committee is told to focus on bracket integrity. However, even with this being said, in the 2015 NCAAs we had 5 NCHC teams and they still managed to avoid 1st rd matchups & sent Miami to Providence. I still maintain that they won't send UMD or DU to Fargo in the aforementioned scenario... but this is all just banter

Exactly, didn't they send Miami out to Providence as a #1 seed where they ended up losing to Providence on the way to a title? There's precedence here so I'm not just making stuff up lol really trying to have a logical discussion about this

How sure of that are you? I was under the impression that the committee avoided interconference matchups in the 1st round at all costs. The only exception being if all #1 seeds were NCHC teams or there was some team hosting that couldn't be moved.

No, I believe they'd avoid interconference in the 1st round unless there was no way to avoid it.

Everyone knows 104 is where it's at. Can be the quickest to the bathroom, two choices of beer lines, taco bowls, roasted almonds and the of course the band for entertainment.

As far as I'm concerned CC played the perfect game against a more talented team on Saturday. Step 1: Get a lucky goal off of opposing team's player while being outshot heavily Step 2: Line up the dmen on the blueline to enter the zone Step 3: Pack in the defensemen in front of your goalie to block shots and have him play one of the best games of his life Step 4: Kiss the pipes and crossbars for helping said goalie out Step 5: Celebrate 1-0 win(excluding ENGs) Note: This isn't a knock on CC, they played exactly how a team of their caliber should after gaining the lead. Something they failed to do on Friday and paid for it.

Agreed, as rough as Tomek looked against CC I'm not willing to write him off. I remember overreacting to Cam's first start and thinking there's no way he'll be a consistent starter. Then he went and set a bunch of UND records the following year, shows what I know about goaltending

Just got back from Colorado Springs, my observations: - To my surprise, CC continued to play racehorse hockey with us after going up 2-0 on Friday which allowed us back in the game. They didn't make the same mistake on Saturday and packed it in + got a heck of a performance/luck in shutting us out. - The Bowen line really impresses me and Dixon seems to get better every week. He showed great poise on the breakaway Friday where most freshies would fire that puck immediately. - Teams are focusing on Boeser and a great example was the 2 on 1 we scored Friday to make it 4-2. The defender essentially left Gersich wide open for a clean shot to make sure Brock wouldn't get a shot. Gersich made him pay. - #16 is getting extremely frustrated and isn't moving his feet like he needs to be. It could be due to an injury but we need him to play harder and with more as part of the team if we are going to make a run in the postseason. I don't question his desire but what he's doing isn't working. Needs to play a 200 ft game and let the offense come to him rather than forcing it because he absolutely is. - I'm not as upset about losing on Saturday as I thought I'd be because this team dominated time of possession/SOG for long periods 5on5. I know people hate to hear it in here but that really was a hot goalie. I sat directly behind him for 2 of the 3 periods and if he didn't make the save, the post did for him. -We're lucky that stay at 9 in PWR but #12-13 could be one loss away. We need guys to start blocking more shots, back checking harder and being more desperate in general.
