  1. Seems like he's an offensive defenseman looking at his stats. 6' 180lbs
  2. UMD is one of the best teams in the nation right now so I don't think there are many teams that actually want to play them.
  3. Interesting that both BC's missed NCAAs were after national title years. I feel like I've seen it before but does anyone have the statistic on-hand for teams making/missing the NCAAs a year after a title? You'd think there could possibly be a letdown after getting to the top of the mountain while all the other teams are hungry/using the previous year's failure as motivation.
  4. This is a fantastic post to put it all into perspective. While BU may have gotten great "one and dones" to play for them Hakstol and Berry have found a good mix of high end & role players to fit into their system for a consistent chance at making the FF/being in league championship races. The above looks similar to Wisconsin's issue with balancing classes.
  5. No matter their recent success vs a Duluth team that thought they could just show up, they're 0-9-0 at home this year, they have about a -1.4 goal margin and we have a 0.9 goal margin/game. They are 10% on the power play, we are 20%. They're 56th in ncaas in gpg, 52nd in goals against per game. We have more than a "slight shot" at a sweep.
  6. We have the same amount of 1st rounders as we did last yr... if you really think that's the only way to determine successful teams.
  7. Points aren't the only way to play desperate hockey, Brock couldn't find space and Duluth keyed in on him and succeeded. If you watched the small plays or some of the battles he had, he wasn't coasting. In contrast, I watched Olson glide by a player with the puck towards the 2nd half of the game last night as if he didn't exist.
  8. Duluth is the best team we've seen this yr by a decent margin. They're veteran and deep top to bottom with Peterson joining them and Tufte starting to play to his potential. Anything less than a Frozen Four will be a big letdown for them IMO. We need to start playing desperate hockey(Boeser & Gornall showed it). Our goal has shifted from the 3rd straight Penrose to home ice & NCAAs. Oh and to the people NOW saying they miss Hak who were silent in all the yrs he got crucified on this board...GTFO
  9. Nope, typed blindfolded with my feet. Good smartass response tho bud, cheers
  10. Should be a good crowd to visit for
  11. I honestly look at the Bulldogs fans criticism of Brad as jealousy. While Matt Wellens is pretty good they don't have the level of coverage that we enjoy in Grand Forks. Also, they hate UND hockey and it's fans so by extension they rip on our beat writer. He could be the best college hockey writer in the country(btw he is) and it wouldn't matter. Have yet to hear a solid critique of his work by a Duluth fan. Brads won multiple awards from neutral parties so UMD fans whining is just sour grapes with no real substance.
  12. He's on mute It's what happens when someone contributes nothing to hockey discussions.
  13. Oh ok thanks, I'm just impatient
  14. The games were tough to watch if you were in Amsoil too
  15. Do they answer the questions? Now I'm curious!
  16. We made a similar run to them last year so it was the unstoppable force vs the immovable object. Union comes to mind.
  17. That's a good comparison, in all honesty it seems like there's more often than not a team like this. Myself, I'm more impressed/worried about a team that makes this sort of run towards the back half of the season.
  18. Phew, got worried there for a second
  19. RPI much worse than Dartmouth, and kinda like losing to Wisconsin last yr... oh well, we turned out ok. Unless I dreamt Tampa last year and it never actually happened
  20. Harvard has lost 3 straight to RPI, Union, and Dartmouth... falling like a rock in PWR
  21. In regards to this UND ditched the WCHA, I'm not apologizing for anything and neither is the program after what the NCHC has done for us...
