Rocco will have the toughest task of the 3 to get a shot in the NHL, Knight and Kristo are almost locks to get a lock. Kristo could get a look this season in the NHL if he decides to sign with Montreal pretty quick but regardless I would bet a lot of money that Knight and Kristo both play in the NHL.

I agree I wouldn't be suprised if Jensen signs with Detroit with the situation they have with defensemen right now and think LA could be just as likley if not more likely to sign Gravel rather than Forbort. Another guy that could sign for them would be Nic Dowd with the Kings. I see St.Cloud being more around the middle of the pack next year. If I had to rank them right now with just guessing on early departures I would go: 1.Miami 2.UND 3.Denver 4.St.Cloud 5.Omaha 6.Duluth 7.Western Michigan 8.Colorado College

Makes a lot of sense for Schmidt to sign being a FA, probably got a big deal and Washington is a good situation for him to try to get to the NHL quick and might even alllow him to get some time this season. Guessing Nashville really pushed Budish to sign and it was tough decison for him after his comments about coming back. I would guess Bjugstad will leave but I thought he would last year too. It doesn't make sens to me for Haula to sign with the depth the Wild have, Haula would be spending all next year in Houston if he decides to sign.

BU has already named David Quinn as head coach.

I thought I saw some things on twitter that said he had told reporters he would be negotiating an extension and there was a big blow up between him and the school while trying to negotiate. Also sounds like they weren't happy with NCAA success, I hate Gwoz but this is a dumb move by Denver IMO.
-
If Gwoz is gone any chance of any incoming recruits chosing a different route. Gage Ausmus from EGF is supposed to be there next year I believe and would be a great defenseman to pick up.

I'm not even close to being in the fire Hak camp but I think even most in that camp would say last years team overachieved with the way things went and Hak got as much out of that group as he could.

My way to early take on next year line combos: Caggiula(SO)-Grimaldi(SO)-Tambellini(FR) Murphy(FR)-Mark Mac.(JR)-Parks(JR) O'Donnell(JR)-St.Clair(SO)-Johnson(FR) Gaarder(JR)-Pattyn(JR)-Rodwell(SR) Mitch Mac.(SR)-Chyzk(SO)-Senkbeil(JR) Sanderson(SO)-Voltin(FR)-Rowe(FR) (Kind of doubt that we will see Voltin or Rowe next season as there really isn't room for them but they are scheduled to come in next year) Forbort(SR)-Schmaltz(SO) Simpson(SR)-Stecher(FR) Mattson(JR)-LaDue(FR) Poolman(FR)-Panzarella(JR) Crisfield(FR) (scheduled to come in but I think he only does if someone leaves early and I don't think anyone is ready to go yet so hopefully everyone is back) Gothberg(SO) Saunders(SR) Yet to Sign goalie(FR)

Last year at this time we were also playing on fumes with 15 skaters or something and that is tough to judge. You still hear the players refer to it and I think there is still a lot of pride there and I would bet it is talked about quite a bit in the lockerroom about what it means to be part of the Fighting Sioux hockey program.

I thought he got better throughout the year and became a lot more consistent in the 2nd half of the season, I can really see him taking another huge step forward next season.
-
I love that being the standard and love the high expectations every year but there is also a lot more parity in college hockey than there was when he took over. I still wouldn't want any other coach and think he is one of the top 5 coaches in the country currently coaching.
-
I would say played decent in spurts as there were some good chances in 4 posts, a disallowed goal, and a few that rolled behind their goalie but just didn't roll in. Really a choppy and kind of sloppy performance though and not a consistent level of play throughout the game. Not the type of game and level of play I expected to see at all though.

Union up 3-0 on BC early in the 2nd, if it keeps going this way this could be a Frozen 4 without really any big time programs.
-
I'm not sure if it had anything to do with Berry or not but we did seem to get a lot more offensive production from our defensmen this year so maybe he is more focused on that area. Our defense was very incosistent all season so hopefully Berry will be able to help the group improve and be more consistent into next season.

I think Kristo has a decent chance to get a shot this year in Montreal.

Tough for me to think about next year right now but it is probably the best way to help move on from this season ending. I think there is a lot more potential for next years team than a lot of others might think especially if nobody leaves early. The only one that I think might leave early is Forbort but I think that would be a big mistake. Another question is how many recruits will we bring in for next fall? Defensemen that could come in are: Troy Stecher, Paul LaDue,Tucker Poolman, and Geoff Crisfield. Forwards that could come in are: Wade Murphy, Luke Johnson, Adam Tambellini, Luke Voltin, and Jack Rowe.

Thanks to all the seniors for all the time and commitment you gave to this program. This was one of my favorite senior classes although it seems that way every season. I wish this class the tbest of luck in the future on whatever path you take.
-
Knight, Kristo, and MacWilliam all named to west region all tournament team.
-
That's your opinion and I'll stick with mine. I am a coach and know the other side of things its not as easy as a lot of people want to make it out to be.
-
I understand the frustration but if you take a step back and look at the program overall you would be crazy to fire Hak. If Hak was fired we would be laughed at by the college hockey world and teams would be calling him to be their next coach in a matter of seconds. Yeah the team didn't play well but its not like Hak just flicks a switch on that allows the team to be good or be average any given night. I'm not happy either but we hit 4 posts and had a goal disalllowed as well as a couple pucks get by the goalie and just roll wide, this game could have easily been a Sioux win with a couple different bounces.
-
Name 5 better, the people who undervalue Hak the most are some of the idiotic fans of his team. There are tons of programs around the country that wish they had a coach like him. It could be a lot worst just look at his track record and then look at some other programs.

2 and 4

Not one thing in there I wasn't serious about and its the truth. You people that want Hak gone are crazy, go ask anyone around the country and they will tell you he is a top 10 and probably top 5 coach in the country.

Not a real crisp game at all, thought we played well in the 1st, took most of the 2nd off, and then played ok in spurts in the 3rd. Still the difference in this game tom is a couple of things. First Saunders played well most of the game but the 2nd and 3rd goal are ones that I think Zane wouldn't have gave up. Obviously disappointing we couldn't put our best lineup out there in this situation and I wonder if what was wrong with Zane whether injury or sickness will come out. The other thing is the amount of puck luck and bounces Yale got. We had 3 or 4 shots that hit the post and had a couple rolling behind the goalie as well and then the disallowed goal as well. Obviously disappointed with the outcome but I want to thank the coaching staff and players, especially the seniors for this season and all the effort and time they have put in during their time and thank them for being a part of FIGHTING SIOUX HOCKEY.

While I really don't know why we needed this thread I think I can offer some input on some of these players. Cammarata is a very skilled smaller type forward who I would look to be a pretty good player but I would not compare him to a Vanek type really. Kloos can score but I think he will find some difficulty in the college game and will have trouble adjusting. Guertler is a very good player but also on the small side, very skilled player. Fasching is a guy who was a lot higher touted earlier in his career but has not met those expectations recently, he has skill but will mostly provide them some size. I would compare him more to a guy like Michaelson or Ambroz on their own team than Coyle. Brodzinski is a pretty good all around d-man. Can provide offense and has a big shot from the point, his brother plays for SCSU.
