A few interesting comments from Vikings media availability today as well as from Charles Barkley when he appeared on the CBS pregame show yesterday. Reading these quotes and more from Vikings players the overwhelming message seems to be support of Peterson as well as comments about how fine of line there is when you try to tell someone how to discipline their child. Master Tesfatsion @MasterStrib · 3h Charles Barkley on Adrian Peterson: "I'm from the South. Whippings, we do that all the time." Master Tesfatsion @MasterStrib · 3h "Every black parent in my neighborhood in the South would be in trouble or in jail under those circumstances" -Barkley on Peterson Master Tesfatsion @MasterStrib 2m "I feel like I'm a better person for it. My mother cared about me a lot." - Jerome Felton #Vikings Master Tesfatsion @MasterStrib 5m Asked about Peterson's form on discipline,FB Jerome Felton said "I'm from the South, so I probably got it a little worse than that" #Vikings Matt Vensel @mattvensel 1m Jarius Wright was clearly nervous and trying to carefully choose his words, but he did say that he didn't think Peterson did anything wrong.

Also saw Vikings special teams coach Priefer will be back this week and they looked like they missed him as they had to call a timeout to get the right guys on the field for one punt return, only had 9 guys out there on another punt return, had a field goal blocked, and had some poor punt coverage yesterday too.

Vikings announced Adrian Peterson is returning to the team and expected to play on Sunday.

Anim is a real good slasher type and I know the Gophers and Wisconsin have both watched him a number of times but he is probably more of a down the road backup plan type for them and the Gophers are already full unless they have a transfer during the season. Anim has offers from Dayton and Northern Iowa already as well.

Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson · 47m Tweeted this a.m. that based on some digging I'd be surprised if the #Vikings released AP. @HubbuchNYP reports releasing def. not happening.

Usually it is a very thin tree branch.

Teddy time will be coming soon, I'd let Cassel start at New Orleans and if he struggles again let Teddy take over back at TCF against Atlanta.
-
Looks like the Panthers have changed their mind about playing Greg Hardy as they have now deactivated him for todays game.
-
One of the games is listed for NBCSports.com and is on a Sunday afternoon so don't know whether BTN would be able to have that one or not.

Some updates in the Strib to the charges, what penalties AP could face, and when a trial would be expected if it gets to one from the Montgomery County first assistant district attorney-http://www.startribune.com/local/275011391.html

Looks like Cromartie was up to 10 kids with 8 different women in 6 different states as of 2 years ago. http://behindblondiepark.com/2012/04/15/antonio-cromartie-one-kid-short-of-a-football-team/

True seems like that is the case with too many NFL players where they have a number of children with a number of different women. I believe it is Antonio Cromartie who is the most publicized with like 9 kids with 8 different women.

Some other Minnesota high school recruits I would guess we have some sort of interest in and I'm sure there are more but this is off the top of my head: Grant Loven, Tanner Tweten, and Dixon Bowen-EGF-F Jake Jaremko-Elk River-F John Peterson-Holy Family-F Kevin Fellows-Prior Lake-F Grant Mismash-Shattuck-F Jaxon Nelson-Luverne-F Dayton Rasmussen-Holy Family-G Jake Oettinger-Lakeville North/USNTDP-G

So is a parent spanking their child to discipline them and leaving their butt a little sore the same as a parent punching their child in the face deliberately and leaving them with a concussion the same?
-
Very likely JR F Mark Senden or SO D Hank Sorenson.
-
That is your opinion and I will stick with mine that there is a huge difference.
-
Just from what I have seen reported.
-
I'm not sure but I have seen anywhere from 4-7 reported. He may be the only person who knows the actual number.
-
I'm not trying to say it is an excuse because it wasn't deliberate but I do believe there is huge difference between whether a person is legitimately trying to hurt their child or whether a person is trying to discipline their child and ends up going overboard.
-
You don't know me don't try to tell me what I am. No I don't deal with kids who were abused but I'm sick of people acting like AP deliberately abused his son when in reality it was a punishment that he went overboard on and there is a huge difference between the two.
-
I said nothing about Ray Rice I think he deserves everything he gets. AP was disciplining his kid the way he was disciplined and went a little overboard but I don't think that is even in the same category as Ray Rice or Greg Hardy.
-
It is the discipline he was raised with and lots of people especially in the south still use the same kind of discipline, I also did say he may have went a little too far with it and he admitted as much. I'm far more upset with the Greg Hardy situation in that the Panthers are still letting him play when he has already had his trial and been found guilty but because he is appealing they let him play.
-
I have already seen the pictures and know everything that has been reported doesn't change my opinion that he was trying to discipline his son and may have went a little overboard. Doesn't mean I would have used that same kind of discipline but I can understand why AP did since he was raised the same way.
-
I think AP was just trying to discipline his son but he may have took it a little overboard. I can imagine Goodell might want to make an example in this case but imo this isn't even in the same ballpark as the Ray Rice and Greg Hardy cases. I think the main reason the Vikings deactivated him this week was to let him go turn himself in and bail himself which he did last night and would be kinda surprised if they don't let him play while this situation plays out.
