I heard at the local watering hole that when we had the fighting sioux nickname, the money was rolling in from donors at such a high level, that state funding wasn't even needed for UND. Now that they have that little postal dove logo, nobody is donating, it's no wonder they are having money issues. #SIOUXFOREVER!

Turned on for 1 minute, hear announcer say nice setup and "a score". Turned off, will tune in for the next quarter though.

I am referring to comments that McGarry recently made regarding UND hockey vs the "rest of UND". I am unsure of how the Betty was funded, but see that it cost around. 9.9 million dollars in 2018 dollars (per Wikipedia). Remember, it was built without video screens, and those only appeared recently. Ever since the "Dear Chuck" letter, UND has had their hands tied. Some obvious benefits to UND and GF, some major problems. (Being tied to a donor that had a Nazi party or parties is one thing that comes to mind as a problem.)

Queen McGarry has made it abundantly clear that she wants to help UND HOCKEY only.

Someone in the media needs to ask Hodgson/ McGarry/Chaves why they are retrofitting this new scoreboard over the old one, simply to keep a logo that is no longer used by the university. Tom Miller, you better do it because you know Brad won't. Ask them about the faded logos on the outside of the building while you are at it, and also the general stubbornness in moving on.

To your point: "Fighting Sioux" is not the nickname anymore. It never will be the name again.

6. The "Shots on Goal" size isn't big enough.

IF it remains, imagine you are Daktronics, and are told that you have to design the screens to account for the remaining structure, or heck, it will just block the screens. Asinine.

This is a obviously a very nice upgrade, but seeing the effing Sioux logo on the rendering, as well as no fighting hawk logo anywhere, just shows you how ridiculous things are. There is even "North Dakota" script on the scoreboard instead of a hawk logo. Let's all just pretend we are still the Sioux, I guess. Embarrassing. Could it just be the rendering? Maybe...but that almost makes it worse! Move on people, don't retrofit a 2001 scoreboard with a beautiful new scoreboard to keep a logo around that is a relic. So sick of it.
